  • The metal band Slipknot is just as well-known for their unique costumes and masks as they are for their music, but sadly they have also become well-known for the many tragedies that have affected the band members over the years. One member found himself in a dangerous fight with his brother, another died of an overdose after years of struggling, and one faced unspeakable tragedy when his daughter died in 2019. In spite of this, the band has managed to work through the losses they’ve suffered and continued to record. Let’s take a look at the tragic real-life story of Slipknot.

As someone who has psychopathic thoughts, it feels like an extremely dangerous way to show how you feel. it shows how humble, nice, brave and inspiring all these guys are :) Well except for the money thing with chris :( I didn't like how they handled that with him :( very unfair and wrong to do that to someone who is like family! but he will always be part of the band in my eyes just like joey and of course paul :)

I realize how difficult it can be, being on the outside, to get an accurate account of a given situation but as far as I can tell Jordison got fired for getting seriously sick. He said not a single member of the band visited him in hospital.
I used to say Led Zeppelin is my favorite band but Slipknot is my religion. Even though I utterly loathe "cancel" culture, I doubt I'll ever fully regain the respect I once had for the band for not standing by their long time drummer. To this day he still reports to writing songs for Slipknot in hopes of regaining his place in the band.

But again, that doesn't mean anything because rare cases happen. I once knew a guy who got all of him limbs amputated because of smoking. A circulation thing.
So I guess you gave me something to think about. And Google.

Always thought Joey was a prick anyway. Pretentious at the least. Toxic at the worst. Look at it like this: the band has always been like brothers. It takes some pretty grievous shit to be dropped like that. And on the subject of Chris that dude was one of 2 secondary percussionists in a 9 person band. Yeah I wouldn’t expect to be paid as much as the lead vocals or guitars myself. Bad form especially considering these guys should all be rich as fuck by now anyway to squabble over money. What a life these guys have lived.
As a fan since 2000, I was lucky enough to see the band in concert 2000 - and lucky while being right up front in a massive crowd. I was leaning (getting crushed against) the stage barricade about 5 meters away from the main stage staring at a huge red tapestry of the Slipknot logo. The energy was something I never thought could be a expressed. There were explosions and pyrotechnics from the start of their show - the DJ Sid jumped over my head and into the crowd and so did Shawn. He was pushed back to the stage and HE went right over my head the other way! He was soaking wet- it was August in California. Before Slipknot played their set, SLAYER played theirs! I was more nervous during Slayer cause I was close to the pit and my feet weren’t able to touch the ground , all because there were so many people pushing against each other that it lifted your body up, but your feet were six inches off the ground. Tattoo The Earth tour!

I was at the concert in Tinley park when the man died. He was in a pit made in the grass in the back. I watched and was dumbfounded at the lack of reaction by the employees that this man had been injured. Some of it was the employees not caring, and the rest was the fact that they didn’t have any form of communication with each other. The man collapsed and had a seizure during sulfur, and I didn’t see an ambulance till they were on their encore song. The situation could have been way better, and that man could still be alive. I don’t blame anyone for his death I just think they need to be better prepared for these kinds of things. RIP man
