      I supposed the lines from the marker he used could be translucent, letting a percentage of light through. Like how we use glass to show the nested cube structure of a tesseract for example.

      They would basically see the outside part of it, so a big line or a sexagon if they have some sort of depth vision.

      Yeah but they'd interpret it as a 2D object even though their eyesight is limited to 1D. Just the way we see cubes in 2D, but our brain interprets them as 3D shapes.

      @@DiabloZTG the issue for me was that hearing it in english made it easy to dismiss out of prejudice towards the way its worded. When a friend of mine presented it to me before watching this it just seemed as if what was being proposed was impossible in the first place.

    The third dimensional view is similar to what was showed in Interstellar movie - the time as another dimension where we could access any particular time just like 2D habitants could see everything with 3D view.

    Now we can understand how can a 4th dimensional being can see us. They can go forward and backward in time which we can't. Like we can go up and down but a two dimensional being can't.

      Time exists in all dimensions e.g. front, right and up... all movements in these dimensions can be described alongside time for example velocity and acceleration... Even in the 4th dimension, time derivatives would still exist. Therefore time isnt a spacial dimension. IMO, I would describe the 4th as maybe in/out ... like live zooming on 3d objects... i.e can see through your body and organs while at the same time looking all over earth depending on its size and its 4th dimensional distance(x,y,z,w)/closeness to us.

    As analogy to our dimension, the 2D should consist of circle planets and living beings on surface of it, gravity acting towards centre acording to mass; not the map like world as shown.

    Cosmos: Possible Worlds is now sadly over. I recorded the last several episodes. But I did miss Episode 3. If someone can tell me what happened in the Lost city of Life that be good.
    But just so interesting learning about Astrophysicists and science of the universe. Hopefully they come with a 4th season of possible worlds.

    Like, how can you grasp something from it's "height sides" like Neil in this demonstration, if the thing has no height? And why's that not explained since it's literally the first thing we see of the physical interaction
