In the quantum universe, there's an undiscovered frontier, where the laws of our world give way to an entirely different set of rules. What interested you the most about this video?
The concept of dimensions, if you could add or subtract them
So you suggesting life on earth is set by a higher dimension intelligence?
National Geographic how ignorant we maybe about a 4th dimension as the flat worlder was about a 3rd dimension. Can’t imagine what a 4th dimension being would look like.
can i watch this in hindi ?
Where are hindi episodes????
I lost my seriousness when he suddenly started a conversation with a squeaky voice hahahha
No budget for a child voice-over artist
that creature should practically die when lifted up. seems like there is no way to move out of 3D world except death.
No seriousness is required in Science
Yup
Ok
Every generation needs Cosmos
And every dimension
Hi buddy 🤜
Das True. Well, it seems you & me are hoping for good.
Yes newton
@@shubhankardasgupta4777 hi Albert god to see youᕙ(☉ਊ☉)ᕗ
If the mathematician even managed to draw a cube ,imagine from there point of view its still only a line
I supposed the lines from the marker he used could be translucent, letting a percentage of light through. Like how we use glass to show the nested cube structure of a tesseract for example.
They would basically see the outside part of it, so a big line or a sexagon if they have some sort of depth vision.
Yeah but they'd interpret it as a 2D object even though their eyesight is limited to 1D. Just the way we see cubes in 2D, but our brain interprets them as 3D shapes.
A sexagon? Quite talking like that
Only works when you see it from above.
4d being: look at all these 3d peasants making fun of the 2d creatures.
They have never found us, as we haven't found the 2D beings
5d being: look at all these 4d peasants making fun of the 3d creatures making fun of the 2d beings.
now imagine what they're saying about our slaughterhouses, mutilation and torture of our own kind--for 'taste', and 'pleasure'.
@@Hisham1097 that's too many Ds
If 2d is basically a paper, and we are a cube, can they pass through it? did they punch a hole into our universe, maybe they are the floating "UFO's" for all I know.
If this wasnt animated i wouldve never accepted this idea enough to entertain it. Thank you
I didn't realize six year olds watch Nat-geo
that creature should practically die when lifted up. seems like there is no way to move out of 3D world except death.
You should watch original Carl Sagan explanation. It's understandable and full of joy
Just develop your mind. You’ll eventually visualize a lot of things like this. 👍🏾
@@DiabloZTG the issue for me was that hearing it in english made it easy to dismiss out of prejudice towards the way its worded. When a friend of mine presented it to me before watching this it just seemed as if what was being proposed was impossible in the first place.
Proving the third dimension to flat earthers is hard enough, Imagine giving them a theory of the 4th dimension.
The 4th dimension is time. They don't understand space let alone time, that's why they keep their mindset in the 3rd Century B.C.
The example in this video how the 2nd dimensioners can see through walls can be comprehended as we 3rd dimensioners being able to see through stages of time:past present future simultaneously
@Special Ed I see what you did there, Nice one
@@GuruGemblung123 we're talking about spatial dimensions
@@iciest.icy.n.icy.rice.1 oh God, there's another one...
AND IT HAS A BEARD
the best episode was this episode. it made me think for days
I just watched this episode and I totally agree
Yes, but "Seven Wonders of the New World" was AWESOME!
Which ep?
@@broteendas1194 Episode 9: " Magic Without Lies ".
Imagine being picked up by a giant Neil deGrasse Tyson like that poor thing
4D Neil deGrasse Tyson
that creature should practically die when lifted up. seems like there is no way to move out of 3D world except death.
ankushzap really
That poor 2D guy was abducted by a 3D alien just to make a documentary
*Flat people* : _We could make a religion out of it._
Hour later: the mathematician was burned at the flat stake
May be the reason you don't understand spirituality (not religion) is because it is more than 3 dimensions. Out of body experience....anyone remembers that??
No, don't.
@@oladipobewaji8293 Out of body experiences are not supernatural. Ketamine, a drug, can produce the same effects.
Just make a DNA molecule if you can.
I remembered Carl Sagan explaining this with an apple
I think he may have just ruined a marriage.
I agree. It makes a strong impression when we get to learn an exciting topic through a video presentation, but still disagree, if it's too strong to break a marriage-just kidding!
2:22 LOL his voice
😂 i thought he said. "And Then One day, Weed came along" 3:23
Google translate sound is better than this lol
@@YALQUZAQ_AZ Can't argue with that, One can hope they change it to this sound. LOL
That wasn’t him is was the mathematical
and then 4:14
The third dimensional view is similar to what was showed in Interstellar movie - the time as another dimension where we could access any particular time just like 2D habitants could see everything with 3D view.
You gotta go research the difference between spacial and termporal dimensions
can you please drop your number or Insta username or telegram.....I am a science guy like you
Now we can understand how can a 4th dimensional being can see us. They can go forward and backward in time which we can't. Like we can go up and down but a two dimensional being can't.
@Josh B Yeah, like we don't bother to think that going upward and downward and having a thickness can be uncommon to anyone. If any 4th dimensional being grab us and show us from their perspective then we can understand I think.
What a beauty of the world, theres alot mysteries inside it
Time is not a spacial dimension
Time exists in all dimensions e.g. front, right and up... all movements in these dimensions can be described alongside time for example velocity and acceleration... Even in the 4th dimension, time derivatives would still exist. Therefore time isnt a spacial dimension. IMO, I would describe the 4th as maybe in/out ... like live zooming on 3d objects... i.e can see through your body and organs while at the same time looking all over earth depending on its size and its 4th dimensional distance(x,y,z,w)/closeness to us.
It could be a spacial dimension, not necessarily time
A few years ago I watched a CZcams clip of Carl Sagan explaining flat world and the 4th dimension.... you k ow how people casually throw around “it blew my mind”, that was one of the most incredibly mind blowing things I’d ever heard... still mind blowing to me
that surreal feeling of amazement to know something you don't. some things are really out of our comprehension.
Jwen TUP we were never evolved to do so. But, just like with quantum physics, we’re getting smarter every day.
It really is amazing. Stay curious!
Imagine Niel putting him upsidedown poor little guy suffer so much 2d medical problems
Not much If a 4d being flipped me around I would just be left handed and my birth mark will be to my left instead of the right
Please broadcast entire episodes instead of mere clips. Good grief: the world is broke and in desperate need of science, and yet you're holding back? Come on now!
They can't do that, it's business...
They are available in telegram
@@aegon_targerian mention that telegram channel fellow ...
Why do people want everything for free? They spent so much effort into making this show and you want the entire show for free on CZcams, good grief just wait a year or two and it'll be on CZcams like season 1 is, or pay some money to watch it.
For those earning like $200 to $400/month it's pretty hard.
This guy's voice is soooooo soothing!!!
Thank you Neil for the video.
Real nice topic, well explained. Kudos to NatGeo for this.
We love Cosmos, the topics they debate and the method of how they explain the history of science and earth, and their most important topics! They are a source of inspiration for our works.
That's why I subscribed this channel because it really help a lot
Perhaps the best hour of tv I watched this year.
No words for the insightful experience this show provides💫
I’m very glad that science is finally catching up to spirituality
That’s maybe why alien ships can travel fast and do all this crazy maneuvers because in they’re dimension all of this is normal but In ours it’s stuff of science fiction
Maybe they're just... Going in a straight line through their dimensions and we're dumbasses who can't see that stuff
or maybe there are not any alien spaceship, those are fake videos.
No this universe is so big its stupid if you think that we are the only intelligent species.
@@LazyNeutron maybe it's not a spaceship but a 4d hand going through
As analogy to our dimension, the 2D should consist of circle planets and living beings on surface of it, gravity acting towards centre acording to mass; not the map like world as shown.
3:18 That weird looking spaceship or whatever. I remember several years ago watching this and I absolutely *LOVED* this channel.
Its the ship of the imagination
2:20 my favorite part 😄 (when Neil impersonate math teacher in flatworld)
Watching this in 3D would be trippy.
Woww...
Amazing universe. 😊☘️🍀🙏
The best series ever.
this show is awsome! i learn more things from this show for my school!💕✨
I think I figured this out when I threw a ball and it bounced back into my head.
This is amazing NatGeo! I loved this series so much!!! The 2020 sequel looks great too. Keep pushing out such shows, they give such great insights in such simplicity. Loved it!!
❤❤
We love your enthusiasm! Thank you for the support.
I was abducted by Neil deGrasse Tyson, and it was amazing!
Danny Tourigny: ask him to abduct me too
Wooowwww...just wooowww.....
Simply you told most unique method to visualise the universe ....just wooowww
Thanks a lot ...❤️
This is like a modern version of that scene from What The Bleep
This reminds me of Flatland: The movie, with the 2D shapes. The ending was a trippp
Please lonch your Official App Nat Geo...❤ I love to see your all channel's each & every programme
This is GOLD
Maravilloso video
*COSMOS* is really Amazing. THANK YOU National Geographic.
We're so glad you enjoyed. Thank YOU for watching.
Nice!
My all time favorite show.
I want to ask natgeo that when this show will launch in India 🙄 waiting eagerly.
It is on Disney hotstar
There was an episode of star trek voyager where they stumble upon a 2d civilisation and it was quite well made
Amazing.
Please upload the Cosmos series.
This is an awesome documentary about higher spatial dimensions and what 4d beings might view us 3d beings but can we 3d beings pass through the flat 2d universe or do we stand on top of their plane of existence like what the video suggest?
The fact is that even if we can move on extra demencion , that we can't really predict what will happen on the world of less dimensions... despite we can see more staff ...
In the best case we can only achieve to predict some possibilities...
Remind me with one of the episode of The Orville.
Flat Earthers would want to know that location 😂
👍😂😂😂
This is just the thing the movies Interstellar,A wrinkle in time, Tomorrowland etc are trying to PROVE. I read this book' Everything you need to know but have never been told ' which is totally awesome to read after watching the series cosmos: possible worlds .
I see ur point, got it
I need link of complete episode of it if there any please share
Mind bending
Watching this after reading Death's End just hits different.
Awesome Video

Live the life
Seems that Natgeo Brazil canceled or pospone the release date of the second season of Cosmos. Does anyone know if it was canceled anywhere else?
If someone know how to watch full version of cosmos videos, can you tell me how to watch ? I really want to watch full video but I can't find it. Please...
now i get why people call him a legend his educational material is entertaining
Makes a lot of sense.
Cosmos: Possible Worlds is now sadly over. I recorded the last several episodes. But I did miss Episode 3. If someone can tell me what happened in the Lost city of Life that be good.
But just so interesting learning about Astrophysicists and science of the universe. Hopefully they come with a 4th season of possible worlds.
Dude I think they will come back when corona viruse will be wiped out from earth
ScienTechz ok
But do you think their will be a 4th season?
That means if a being in the 4th dimension exists they can see every part of the inside of our bodies at the same time
I can't wait for this show to get aired on fox
How can the denizens be on different surfaces as depicted if there's no "on"
03:00 how will they see the cube ? They are in 2 dimension ... How to they get the angle to look at that image ?
We want more 😍
Where can I stream this? Can't find it anywhere :(
I don't remember the Exact words but according to Some Sacred Books.. "Time n Space are the Ultimate power, If one can Comprehend it, Then That is God"
Me remembering Bill Clipher's dimension....this is what I have been waiting for.
This is probably what Stanford saw
I was wondering where can I watch this series? It's not on Netflix :(
i love you neil
I want to meet this man
What episode's that????
this should make to a series videos.
What is the max heigth of the flatworld? 1 pixel, 1 planck length?
Today I started studying linear algebra and the book mentioned the story of flatland and what a coincidence this video showed up?
or is it?
This would be a cool movie or game
Release the season for purchase damnit!
Flat earthers entered the chat
@ 😂
round earthers leave the chat
Best ep is s2 ep13 worlds fair ep honestly
WER IS THE FULL VIDEO ????????? PLZ
When can I watch this series?! 😵😵😵
The teacher must have drawn a quantum cube. It changed sides based on our perspective!
WHERE CAN I WATCH BUY THE NEW SEASON?
Where is the new episode?
Note: what happens to the flat guy when picked up by Neil here, is, scaled one dimension up, what happens to Matthew McConaughey's character in "Interstellar," when he is put in the tesseract.
What about a being from 1 dimension world that’s just a line being picked up by a two dimensional being?
Like, how can you grasp something from it's "height sides" like Neil in this demonstration, if the thing has no height? And why's that not explained since it's literally the first thing we see of the physical interaction
That little guy just took DMT and started seeing more dimensions
That we can possibly experience a dimension beyond our own perception. What would it be like in the next dimension. How many dimensions can there actually be.
NEAL IS THE GOAT
Would have been nice to see how it ended.
