Perhaps if they put the altar rails back in there - it would look less like a Busby Berkley stage set.
Those who are not able to kneel could stand in reverence to Jesus He does understand.

My favourite is when I hear somebody with a question being referred to read the Holy Scriptures. But when they read the Holy Scriptures, they are told that they cannot interpret the Word of God for themselves.
And we wonder why 70% don’t go to church and 90% don’t know the meaning of the Mass.
Why not try to be more helpful with your brother or hold your tongue if you are unable to understand why he shares his thoughts.
People are tired of all the excuses for why church does not live up to its own claims about itself and being blamed for not being faithful enough to the institution.
Do we serve Christ or do we serve the church? Are we one family before the Lord or are we a bunch of individuals coming to the Mass for our individual sustenance?
Is old testament prophecy (1st reading all by parable as Jesus taught), new testament fulfillment (gospel), singing of psalms (as revelations proclaims) and our fathers daily bread in eucharist with holiest of holiest as over 2k years later, our Lord and Savior still feeds his kids daily bread (scripture and eucharist) all over world in every Mass... what earthly father or legend ever topped that? None and none will.
Is where wedding feast of lamb is held. All invited few show... in only place on planer Messiahs beloved Mother, Father Gods bride as mother of his only begotten Son created for His plan for salvation for all souls.
And confession has each examine our own sins, only ones we answer for, and repent... at throne of mercy where soul is restored once priest gives absolution, to stare of grace as Adam and eve before sin and death entered the garden of Father God's creation
This priest, in 35 minutes, just explained what it took me years to learn. THIS should be played in every RCIA, First Communion Class, Confirmation prep and parish. The lack of this information is truly why our people are stumbling. Praise be to God for this priest and this explanation, may it go “viral”.

RCIA programs are the problem. Tridentine Latin Mass parishes do not have RCIA programs.

This priest is awesome but he would be disappointed you wrote that. He wants us to love the Mass every day. He doesn’t want us to praise him…or his homily….or his ideas. Because he would say none of it is him…because it is all Him.
I would bet the only gratification he would get is if every man left that session committed to attend Mass daily. THAT is the teaching he apparently lives (and would die) for.
Right after the churches opened up after Covid (that was a crime but a story for a different day), I started attending Mass every day…almost 4 years now. My life has changed. As a matter of fact over the last two weeks I actually have been imagining being drenched with the Lord’s blood and water (see St Faustina)
I love the fact that the Tabernacle is at the center of the alter instead of lost in a side room.
Each Rite has different theology. I'm a priest from an eastern catholic Church in India founded by the apostle St. Thomas. We have a different theology to keep the tabernacle at the right side (to the left of the congregation facing the altar) of the church facing the people. And we have a veil covering the altar which is opened during the Holy Qurbana (Mass). Each rite has its own uniqueness. But the sacrament of Holy Qurbana is the same in its entirety... Proud to be a Catholic and blush to be an eastern Catholic... God bless us all...
I live in a small parish, with a small wooden church, built in 1912. This old church has one thing which makes it hard for those in Mass attendance to be ignorant of the reason we are there. High on the wall of the sanctuary, behind the 1912 altar, is the most wonderful stained glass window, depicting Jesus on the cross, with His mother and friend St. John below Him. No one can miss this representation of Jesus’s sacrifice, if they have any sense. I have been on many churches and never seen the equal of the sacrifice represented more reverently. Thank you, Father, for your guidance.

I spent 8yrs. In a catholic school, with Nuns and every Sunday and holy day at Mass and never heard a message like this one!! Might have made a difference in my life.
I was blest. I had 8 yrs learning the love and sacrifice of God. They left no stone unturned and I can never repay them for my life. We went to Mass 6 days a week and read the New Testament together each having their own book. They showed me what love truly is. They also jump roped with us at recess.

I have always believed that God transcends time and space, therefore He is at Calvary at each Mass and when I am at Mass with him, He brings me to His Cross at Calvary. I am there with all the saints and angels worshipping Him. The Mass is Heaven on earth when Jesus is there.
I did know that the Mass is the representation of Calvary. However, I have never heard in detail the fourteen steps that Fr. Meyer presented. Thank you Fr. Meyer for this wonderful explanation. Praise be Jesus Christ now and forever! Amen.
I was taught that the Mass was a SACRIFICE;not a celebration. They did not say Calvary specifically but maybe I missed it. It is a great lesson
I remember that too from the 60s and 70s. Not very good catechetical teaching for about 20 years. No wonder Catholics give so many different answers when asked what the Mass is all about.
I remember Pope Benedict XVI mentioned poor catechesis for about 50 years😢
My adult children don't see.ti have a clue about basics of Commandments, Cathecism , The Sacraments , Holy days of Obligation, and what is a mortal or venial sin.I paid for Catholuc Primary and secondary school education in Melbourne and it was a struggle. I wanted then brought uo and instructed in the faith.What did I pay for? I pray forbthem daily in my Rosary and include them in my 3 pm prayer daily to Divine Mercy.Had I not been busy working shift work I don't think I would ever have suspected the lake of catechism in the schools.They needed more instruction at home.The Church ie the Vatican has been infiltrated by evil forces.The poor quality if teachers in Catholic schools ie Modernists have deliberately destroyed our young .This is a serious problem of the highest magnitude. God Help Us
I learned this in RCIA, but it was never explained in this level of detail nor the symbolism of the lamb explained to this degree at the various junctures the way Fr did in his lecture.
That said, I did forget the meaning of mass and attended out of habit. But that’s about to change.
Lastly, with the internet everyone can attend mass daily on CZcams. There’s really no excuse not to.

To the brethren arguing over TLM vs NO. No matter which mass you attend, good catechesis is key.
So can we stop arguing about two valid forms of the Mass and instead focus our attention on areas where the Church needs improvement like catechesis of adults, teaching of apologetics and evangelisation?
I was raised Greek orthodox and left the church for ten years as a pagan then came back to christ in 2015 abs got confirmed as a catholic 3.5 years ago.

Sabbath is no longer for us to keep, otherwise we would ruin the 6th commandments, which says: DO NOT KILL!

it is the sabbath or the 6th commandment. Cant have both.

The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass is the representation of Calvary. Right there all time and eternity comes together and stops rights there in that moment when the sacrifice of the Lamb is offered up to the Father. We are the ones who are supposed to be sacrificed and die. But it is the Lamb of God Christ Jesus God the Son who replaces us.

Our Holy Qurbana (Mass) is celebrated differently yet the integral theology is the same. Holy Qurbana is the salvation mysteries performed by jesus christ from his birth to the promise of the second coming. It is the plan of God from eternity.

I spent 55 years in Protestantism and never wanted to be Catholic. Once I went to mass at age 63, I knew Jesus Christ was there at the altar.
The mass is the one sacrifice of Jesus Christ at calvary made present at mass. He is not sacrificed over and over like Protestants think. Its the one sacrifice made present at the mass.
I am blessed to have found the truth in Catholicism.

There is daily Mass if you want to go. I travel to the city ( St Francis, Star of the Sea, St Patrick) if necessary otherwise I go to my parish when its scheduled and go to another parish or the city to make it to daily Mass.
I have a friend who lives and works in the outer Eastern suburbs so what he does is go to the 7 am at St Patrick's by public transport and then takes the train back home again to get to work. Soon as Mass is finished he practically has to run to catch the train back to get to work on time.

When I heard Fr Mike Schmitz talk about this a couple of years ago, I felt like I was cheated out of the most important thing in life!!!
I know before baptized and confirmed at Easter Mass 2020, my friend whom guided me home told me I knew more about what goes on in the Mass then the hundreds of Catholics about us. That is a sad failure that needs correcting ASAP. My heart always stops when the gifts are brought to the table, and I always cry or tear up as the Lamb of God is offered.

Me also, an Anglican Franciscan brother, life professed for 26 years.
Not to ruffle feathers or start an argument thread; but unless you mean a Catholic Eucharist or one from a recognized Anglican Ordinariat (Catholic recognized); then there is no Mass or Eucharist present. Since those 'ministers' of the regular Anglican faith do not have a valid ordination, the sentiment might be there but the actual sacrifice, or Real Presence is not.

Millions of thank you Father the beautiful way of explaining the truth of Holy mass. I started daily mass age of 15 and I am 49 years old now with the grace of God I still continue daily mass till now and working as a nurse , have two children and a husband. I truly can say daily attending mass is the greatest blessing I receive every day , I can’t explain in words the joy and peace I experience and how much Jesus brought me closer to Him and Mary. It transformed my life and all my family. I give all glory , honour and thanks giving to our Father, Son Jesus Christ and Holy Spirit. Father I thank Almighty Father for you and thank your parents bringing up a beautiful son to Priesthood and given to all humanity and using him for the glory of God. God Bless you Father.🙏
I was raised protestant and catholic. My dad wanted me to go to church with my grandparents when I couldn't go with him because he felt like going to any church was better than not going at all. I was atheist/pagan/confused for 10 years. I haven't went back to mass yet because.. I guess I'm scared. I've been listening to a ton of catholic talks on CZcams though. I can't tell you how many times I've cried listening to Fr Mike talk about our brokenness from original sin. And it's felt like a huge relief to be able to talk to God again and ask for his forgiveness and to help me when my heart becomes weak again.

Since I watched that film a few years ago I finally understood the Mass as the Holy. Sacrifice. I see that film in my mind's eye daily now before I'm blessed to receive the lamb. Thank you Jesus for the greatest gift I will ever receive ✝️🙏

I'm a Protestant and I love the Mass. I wish we could all unite around the true gospel core of our shared faith. Like the U2 song, "...if there was a church I could receive in." The world needs the humility of Christ's followers living and acting out of unity. If you don't think we're close enough to unite, I've been saying for years, the distance is the difference between "representation" and "re-presentation," like this strong father said here. We're actually so close if we were all more humble before our divine Head. We all together recognize the words of the apostle regarding the true eucharist - that there are many who are weak, sickly and some who have died because of a failure to discern the body and blood of Jesus in the taking.

The people I hear talking about Luther most are Catholics looking to attack Protestants. I couldn't care less about Luther except that-regardless of what kind of jerk or politicking character he had-he made some points that demanded there be correction IN THE CHURCH. As for me, I prefer to associate and identify myself with Christ alone. I would hope that's not a sola that's too far for Catholics. If it can be said I have a protest with my Catholic brethren, it's about things that require I be further from my Christ than I am now, most practical doctrines except for the holy eucharist. Is there no good response to Christ's call to radical unity and reconciliation with one another without it being "obey Catholicism!"? Seems more like pride than foot-washing humility. I desperately want us united and even try to assent to Catholic teaching. But like I said, it's difficult to grow more remote from my Savior in order to do so.

The word “Mass” comes from the Latin word 'missa' meaning 'mission' or 'sending' because its purpose is to send forth the faithful to bring the Good News of Jesus, and to be His presence in the world. It is also a time to give God thanks and praise, as the word 'Eucharist' means thanksgiving!

At one time, the people were dismissed with the words " Ite, missa est," meaning "Go, you are sent. The word " Missa" comes from the word " missio," the root of the English word "mission." The liturgy does not simply come to an end.'
In our Syriac tradition we call Holy Qurbana... Which can be understood several ways as sacrifice, offering, oblation etc.

The Mass was opened to me for the first time when I answered the call to attend the Traditional Mass. I felt like the Apostles on the road to Emmaus. Jesus flooded my heart and mind with understanding.

I would love to have a small booklet with these 14 stations of Eucharist, just the way it was described here. This struck so deep into my spirit, to a total eye-opening depth to the Eucharist. I will never participate in the Sacrifice of the Mass again the same. Every Catholic person should listen to this. Every parish make it required listening. Beautiful. Truly a Eucharistic Revival moment.

True. I converted after Faith Formation classes consisting of videos and handouts- not much really. Priests are over extended and when you connect with him suddenly hes transfered miles away. 7 years later I've found digging into Church history- Augustine- St. Thomas Aquinas etc is on me. I'm hungry to know so I can worship and receive from the one true God.

Nothing secret in this. It is basic catechism. All this is present in eucharistic prayers, the 2 most explicit ones being 1st (Roman Canon) and 4th.

I only read the Believer's Bible, not churches booklets. John 3;1-7 and Romans 10:9-12. Believers should be born again and confess with their mouth that Jesus is their Lord and Saviour, then aaaaall their sins of yesterday, today and tmr will be forgiven through Christ. Amen
