Dovetail has been doing this with almost every franchise, I think it's a shady way to bring newcomers in. For them, it's a whole new game, for returning players is the same old stuff with some additions. There was an attempt to bring "paid upgrades" for returning people, but they scrapped it after TSW 2. Shame.

Wow still can't extend the rail shadows into the distance. This has been like this for multiple releases.

It’s like everything has a rendering distance of 10 meters. Even the trees and buildings aren’t able to render in high detail further than that.

That’s not a limitation from the game engine. Maybe they made some optimizations to be able to run smooth on Ps5 but with the wrong decisions about shadow quality, distance and so on.

I see they still haven’t been able to solve the rendering problems when driving at higher speeds. The tracks still only cast shadows 10m ahead of the train, trees also don’t render in the distance… Why release new versions of the same game from 8 years ago?
