My cousin has this. Drs told my aunt she wouldnt have a life. Would be a vegetable. She will be finishing college soon. Plays wheelchair basketball. For Auburn. Has medals in water skiing in the para olympics. Has had surgeries on her legs and it took her years to walk. Shes a tough brilliant and badass young woman. She comes by it honestly. Takes after her momma. 💜🤗🙏🏼
I was born with it too, My Mum was more or less told the same, but Ive done pretty well, went to college (the UK version, best time ever!!) no Paralympics because I just was never that bothered enough with sport, did a little basketball but again wasn't really interested. Had some surgeries but gave up on walking years ago, getting around in my chair is easier. But definitely not a cabbage 😄

It's not the falling down that's hard it's bouncing back
I was born with Spina Bifida, there are varying levels of the disability, some, like me, won't ever get up on two legs again, and honestly I don't mind one bit, it's how it's always been, wheelchairs get me around faster than walking sticks ever did, and who doesn't want to sit down all day. And there are people with it that you would find it hard to tell they even have it (John Mellencamp and Hank Williams Sr for example) honestly this is no big deal if you've been in that world in that world all your life, sometimes hero worship for doing something many in 'my world' are used to like this just bugs me sometimes. I hate being put on a pedestal just for being disabled, just treat me like a human adult, that's enough.
