I love the minigames, they're way better content than the traditional ways of skilling, but at the same time, the original skilling methods still have options for better xp/hr. So you can choose minigames for more fun content, or you can pick the original skilling methods for better xp (and more money in some cases)

As we get older people are disappointed by developments in the game that they think ruin it. The reality is the game will never be as fun as your memory is of it from back in the day

Very hard pill to swallow.. especially for people that's been playing since early 2000s.. I think that's why a lot of us older people still play, besides just enjoying the game, it is so nostalgic and we remember when we were little playing for the first time and exploring the big world of RuneScape 😢 it'll never be the same but we try every time we log on

I think one of the great things about OSRS skilling is that you have multiple options. I have been playing RuneScape for about 19 years and I've never once played a mini game for a skill.

The only time I have a problem with minigame skilling is when they're the best way to train a skill. Even then, it doesn't bother me too much so long as it isn't CRAZY better than other methods and they don't do it for every single skill. I think the current minigames we've gotten have been fine.

I actually like hunter rumors. It’s such a nice way to do hunter. It’s like slayer for hunter.
This is why I wish Artisan was revisited and reworked. Give us a purpose to skill outside of getting 99. Revisit some old skilling content and bring it life. Add in new ways to skill without it being a 'boss/minigame' With that being said though, I don't have an issue with skilling bosses, I just don't think that's the best solution for every skill.

minigame scape matches the gameplay style of runescape. AFK click once = low effort low reward; minigame = sweat more gain more. I'm happy with it. as it should. Choose your own adventure.
I wish they would release 2007 servers with no updates and how it was no grand echange too maybe faster xp rates or not tbh ied pay 5 bucks extra

Tempoross is one of my favorite pieces of content because solo is better but it's completely fine to do in mass
I think minigames are good when the fail rate is low , solo is possible, and rewards are at least decent

Castle wars was boping before those flag tards and bots ruined it and they made all the rewards except a few from pvp minigames

Woah who hates minigame skilling, at least since GOTR been loving the new methods. Trawler sucks but all the others more fun than training the skill normally. I feel like lack of variety is inherent lot of training methods, and having the traditional way plus a minigame adds a lot. Maybe balance of the two could be a tradeoff but I feel like a lot of other stuff is less balanced than that. Honestly having more skilling methods added to the production skills is something I'd want more than a new skill.

I like minigames, I like skilling bosses, i like the simple click and grind. I think that all methods should be roughly equivalent in XP gain, with more intensive methods giving more. That is the beauty of Runescape is to play it however you want, anything you do will give you XP, just go do something.

None of the minigames you listed is the best xp per hour...they are all options that are more engaging but less xp. If you don't like them you can still do lavas, 3 tick barb, 2 tick granite, etc.
If you prefer the old way of training there’s something wrong with you lol the mini games spice it up a bit to keep ppl interested imo
You're not forced to use skilling minigames to train. It's kinda like people complaining the GE exists, absolutely nothing stopping you from hopping world's advertising your stuff with glow2:wave2 looking for trade sales just like nothing is stopping you from doing the slowest training methods available

Mini games being competitive or best is much better then the alterative of 2t mining equivalent imo. Social environments better then just being all by yourself cutting trees, woodcutting or going to back where you are just doing a line of fire in varrock lol.

mini games all day unless im afking which i like the traditional method.. idk i guess i really like both.. would be nice for some higher tier click intensive training methods if you really want to get gains fast.. i have children so I cant no life when I get time to play I love to gain as much xp as a can since my time is limited as im sure so many people can relate.. having varieties of training methods is essential for different play styles.

1st of all the skilling mini games are not best xp/hr and I doubt any of them except firemaking are best gp/hr either. They are solid options that introduce a different way to train skills. 2nd if u don't like them don't participate in them? They are electives
So I watched part of the q&a sailing stream and it's absolutely disgusting. Looks like a skill you'll try for an hr and hate it forever. It doesn't even have a point like other mini games like tempoross or wintertotd. They help an existing skill already.

Most of them are. Id say maybe wintertodt and blast furnace are the fastest xp minigames. And even then blast furnace is barely a minigame and wintertodt is beaten by literally just burning logs at a certain level. Not sure what point he has.

Osrs community is evolving and the activities show it. People want more active and rewarding activities and not just clicking in one place for hours, if not weeks, if not MONTHS at a time. People want to play a game.
Problem is that a lot of the loud mouths that hate this are the majority of the nostalgic warrior veterans of the game. I'm a veteran of the minority of the game which welcomes more active skills.

Nothing wrong with minigame skilling methods, but new skills that are literally whole new minigames are hated with a passion. Sailing is another minigame skill like dungeoneering was. Shamanism had an non-minigame style activity focus.
Keep skilling training separate from the money making methods is my preference.

I'm a bit of a osrs boomer who's played 20+ years of scape and I much prefer the old braindead content than the new stuff. That being said, I think the new stuff is a great addition and there are times when I am in the mood for skilling minigames but it's definitely not the preference. Give me more braindead boring content please jagex it's why I got hooked on the game all those years ago.
