I like how you prep components. Smoothing sharp edges.

I love the this song!!! I would love to play it in my shop. We spend more time fixing other peoples problems than building new engines these days.

I like the fact that you men take care to champher everything around the main bores.
    Main saddles, caps and all.
It’s hard for most people to understand that it’s not just about cutting some caps and honing to a size. That attention to detail takes time and it pays off in the end.

Everyone has a shits2grins metric. Mine is about tree fiddy or whatever it takes for a solid bark going into 2nd. I've never heard anyone high five because the Haltech pulled the motor back on a rip hehe.

Good video, i used to fill my blocks whit bowling ball epoxy it helped with stopping the cylinder walls from cracking.

I admit. I had to go and look up why the block is filled with cement. This was first for me.

Back when I filled blocks I would use an air hammer with a brass or aluminum faced bit and it set so it would just tickle the block and rattle around the water jacket. You could watch the grout flow to every nook and cranny. Interesting build thus far, but the turd status is in question with the level of crank you're using. 🤣

Having homed hydraulic cylinders I know what you describe as FEEL!!! You mention dressing the caps to make them smaller. Knowing that they will be tighter during the honing process. I would have assumed you would hone the block caps down. So that the weight of the hone removes more from the cap rather than the block.

The material comes off pretty evenly, even when the block is aluminum and the caps are billet steel.

If that is a wet sump engine you need to torque a oil pump to the back cap, it moves .0005

I’ve gotten a little confused on this one, are you changing the main bearing bore size to get the bearing clearance you want and keeping in the main bearing bore spec for proper bearing crush or no?

Quick question when operating a line honeining machine do you want to move the mandrel faster or let it spin so to speak ?

I would think that applying the rule of thumb, let the tool do the work and don't force it.

What kind of grinder is that which you used on the rod cap ends to smooth the edges? I've seen one and been told but can't remember for shit
