Thank you very much! There was so much we didn’t do here that we really wanted to, however we look forward to going back in July or August when the whole park is open and exploring. It’s a beautiful place to explore.

I live 25 miles from the Longmire entrance on 5 acres on a little hill that my view is tree tops and Rainier. If you drove through Eatonville then you drove by my backyard of 4 acres of grass with 5 Black & 1 White German Shepperd.
You missed it by 2 weeks , we had 3 days of 100+ degree temp the 3rd week of June . Satellite Photos showed in 4 days 30% of the snow and glacier melt . I hadn't seen so much rock in a long long time.

Wow that must be incredible living there, I can’t even imagine waking up to that view everyday. We will definitely visit again and hopefully time it better but that area is one of the most beautiful we have ever seen.

@@MarkandRad The best is July Or August . July will still have snow on some trails and some lakes are still frozen above 6000. That's why not many PCTers go south till the end of June or beginning of July leaving not much time to get through the Sierras by winter.

Yea that’s what we learned while we were there, July and August seems like the best time, however it was really cool seeing snow on the ground without having harsh winter weather. On the east coast if there is snow it’s well below freezing and super windy. The whole Pacific Northwest area was such a great experience. You’re lucky to call it home.

Been studying up on our PNW trip in a few weeks. Glad I ran across your video and tips on closing times, rooms, etc. being from the south also was curious on temps higher up. Hoodie weather first of June or need coat?

Thank you very much! Glad you got some useful info. So, it varies, I was comfortable in pants and a light jacket or hoodie. In June there is still a substantial amount of snow (like 10+ feet in some areas) but the temperature is high 50’s or low 60’s. I live in South Carolina and never knew there is snow in June, it blew my mind to see 15 feet of snow still on the ground in Rainier. Also if you have time go check out the San Juan Islands. We have a video on that and it was awesome. The PNW is an incredible place, I hope you have a lot of fun and enjoy yourself.

Come back between July and September when Sunrise and Mowich roads are open. Both are spectacular options for hiking.
