How I Built Wifi Controlled LED Wall Lamps

  • These simple LED wall lamps were a fun project to add some unique lighting to my new room! Each lamp takes only a few hours to make and they’re so cheap (about $20) that I’m going to be making more to fill my room. They look so clean and the reflection of the LEDs on the ceiling gives it an extra pop I haven’t seen from other DIY lamp designs.
    These Lamps are powered using WLED which has so many amazing features. It has an app I can use on my iPhone to change colors, animations, brightness, speed, and many other settings. I can save my favorites as presets, sync my lamps together, and even set up sound reactive animations (Google LEDFX).

    Just letting you know I found you via random suggestion of the LED video wall on my home page. Cool videos and ideas. I'd say this one could use some polish (or a collab with a woodworking channel could be neat), but the idea is solid.

    great project, though while watching i saw several ways in which it could be done a bit different to make things a bit stronger and a bit less light bleedover.

    • @Tech-Random
      @Tech-Random  Před 3 lety +1

      They could definitely be a bit stronger. I imagine they wouldn’t hold up if they fell of the wall but they’ve done pretty well so far. I hope you try and make your own design, it’s a fun project!

    What is the tubing that you used around the wires? And what grit of did you use when sanding the acrylic?

    • @Tech-Random
      @Tech-Random  Před 4 lety +1

      The wires are just held together with masking tape haha. I laid down a long strip of tape and stuck the wires down and wrapped around it. I have no idea what sand paper grit I used, honestly I just used the finest grit I already had. Hope that helps!

    • @Tech-Random
      @Tech-Random  Před 4 lety

      I haven’t actually fixed it yet. What you see in all the shots is still a 30 led per meter strip. When it’s placed above eye level it looks way better!

  • @codygreendoes7891
    @codygreendoes7891 Před 4 lety

    do you need a bigger power supply is we go with the 300 leds

    • @Tech-Random
      @Tech-Random  Před 4 lety

      Yes the supply I used can’t power very many LEDs. You’ll want a 5V supply but to get the amperage you should use this equation: minimum Amps = #Leds * 0.05

    • @ShocktorGaming
      @ShocktorGaming Před 4 lety

      @@Tech-Random Your description says LEDs * 0.5 .... that would be a lot of Amps!
