- Towering 235 above the Genessee River in Letchworth State Park, near Portageville, NY, Norfolk Southern’s new Genessee Arch Bridge is truly a sight to behold as it stand above the upper falls viewing area in the park. I paid a visit to this location nearly three years after my last visit when 765 crossed the old trestle. Two days were spent capturing the action across the new bridge in early June, 2018, as workers continued to wrap up construction and prepare to open the Portageville entrance some time in the Fall of 2018.

Great video. It’s good to see a former Erie Railroad route still in use. I take it that this was filmed facing south.
You are correct. While it is good to see it still in use, there are no where near as many trains now as there once were.
@@bnsf7562: sadly, unsurprising. I’m down in central West PA. There was constant traffic on CSX. Lately I hear very little.
The scene with the Anabaptist family was like out of a movie. Awesome stuff!
Absolutely AMAZING AWESOMLY BEAUTIFUL VIEWS 🤓OF 🇺🇸👍👍& Thankyou Soooooooooooooo VERY MUCH FOR Sharing🖖✌
Did you see the guy on the scaffolding behind this bridge at 3:32. He is a long way up there.
Great shots, gorgeous scenery, excellent video !

Thank you!
The old bridge was 240 feet above the river and I'm pretty sure the new bridge is at least several feet higher than the old one (look at the photos when both were together).
The old one was 234 feet new one 235 feet
Impressive
Looks like NS is getting a pretty quick ROI on their spend.
cool video my buddy "drives" one of those trains. How do you know the train name and where its going?
NY State = Awesome
Somehow it seems to me that Bridge is over Engineered. However, I would think they want it too stand for at least 100 years.
It's definitely a well-built bridge that will last a long time.
