Just so everyone knows, that's an air to air boot ment to connect turbo boost tubes to intercoolers on diesel trucks. They are use to 30 to 50 psi at a couple hundred degrees. They can easily take the heat and pressure of a hair dryer.
Thanks for the comment and info.
Also the pipe appears to be either 2 3/8 or 2 7/8 EuE tubing and you can get caps collars Bull plugs at most oil field supply stores or pipe yards
Suddenly feels like the only person in the world who doesn't know what a clinker is...
Bits of burnt coal!! Ass Clinkers are something else entirely sometimes refered to as wealnuts .
Grinder and paint make you the welder you aint 👌
Thanks for watching.
Great video for a quick forge build, and built from scrap, my kind of build.👍
Great Job Kevin, works perfect as a heater also. A solid 10 for you sir.
Thank you my friend glad you liked it.
Great build. Love watching your videos. Looking forward to your next project. Take care.
I Love projects especially if they're free.
Very imaginative. Great for scrap collectors like me. You are efficient and relaxed when working. Really inspiring. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for the comment glad you liked it.
I've been wanting to do this for awhile now with a free greasy truck brake drum. Thanks for the tutorial!
Fun project thanks for the comment
You did a great job! Your exactly right...function before form.
Thank you my friend.
Just wanted to say thanks. Been wanting to build a small cheap forge for projects and hobby work. I thought I would have to get in my pocket a good bit, thanks to this video, I know I can find everything for at most $10-$15 if even that much, so thank you my friend.
Thanks for the comment and watching glad to help.
Just made my own! Much of my inspiration came from this video and I credited you on my channel. Thanks for sharing this!
Thank you you make a video?
Nicely done. Not only effective, but takes the mystery (and cost) out of forges. Thanks.
Fun project thanks for the comment.
I have a lot of videos on how to build a forge in my playlist
Easy simple, glad I stumbled on to this video... Never thought I would be able to make me one of these forges... Thanks for sharing...
Your welcome and if you need more information on it i have a play list with more forge videos, thanks for watching.
Finally, someone who uses a torch.👍
LOL thanks for watching
Great little forge.
Great little small forge thanks for the video
Sweet,simple, and functional
Thanks AJ.
I have been bolting rotors together for pedestal grinders/polishers for years now. I can get them for free from my local tire store. Love this little forge bud. I am going to stop and get a rotor or two from the logging truck shop I used to be the head fabricator for and make a pedestal with one and a forge with the other. Love that clinker breaker. Great idea fella ! Neat build from a bunch of scrap Kevin, Well done !
Thanks Dean I've been sick sorry for the late reply
@@Robinson-Homestead I hope you are on the mend bud.
I've already got the drum and pipe and several small blowers. Your video has inspired me to put it togather! Thanks Dan S. FROM Michigan & Texas
@@MyLife-lg6tg These forges really shine when the parts are the right size for smaller pieces. Briquets are an inexpensive fuel and last a good long time. I can do a 3 or 4 automotive piston melt and pour in just over an hour. Sure nothing wrong about that and it is recycling too. Win, win eh.
Great build. Thanks for the upload.
Kevin what a great forge project. 👍
Thanks Explorer 867.
Awesome job. Function is always more important than appearance. Great writte work!
Thank you
Great White work
Thank you for this amazing video
I'm going to build a forge and this is a perfect way to build one
This is a good little forge fun build thanks for the comment and watching.
Great job and thanks for sharing the build. God bless
Thank you Jas.
Very impressive Mr Kevin ! Great job !
Thank you
Nice job fit and function is damn near perfect now I’m headed off to my local big truck repair shop to get a brake drum maybe something just a little bigger than that! Thanks for the idea and the instruction God bless America
Glad you liked it Pete if I can help let me know good luck my friend.
Great idea for a forge! I am going to copy your idea with much thanks, but I am going to ad another brake drum with a hinge on top. so that I can add a little more coal, and also have a lid on it to increase the heat if needed.
The top cove will have a cutout so that I can have longer items in the forge.
Once again, thank you for the great idea.
It just so happens there is a heavy truck garage down the road, maybe they will have a few spare old drums.
All yours thanks for the comment and watching how did it turn out?
Nice build. I am looking for ideas for a forge, the "clinker breaker" is a new one for me. Very practical.
I have a lot of videos on forge building gas and coal.
Thank you Kevin for sharing this. I love it, Functional not Pretty. Great!
Greetings from Europe and best regards.
Glad you like it! thanks for the comment.

Very nice build !!! Quick too....
Great work. Lots of inspiration from this video
Thank you.
Great idea for a quick and efficient forge.
Thank you.
Great job Kevin
A brake DRUM not a disc would have given you depth(more coal)
Thank you for you contribution. 👍💖
Always welcome
Thank you Kevin! This video makes me want to run out and buy a set of torches...!
Great little forge
Thank you
Forge looks great! You’re tougher than I am welding flux core without gloves 😂😂 some of those BB’s are painful!
They are sometime lol thanks for the comment and watching
Nice to see some one who can use a torch and weld decent
Thanks John.
Great build - I don’t know why CZcams waited two years to show it to me.
I don’t know what I need more, a forge, or a use for the extra brake rotors I saved!
That sure is a good, and clean job.
Thank you Mark.
Clever. The rubber looks like an aftermarket turbo collector, probably been pointed out before!
Your right Mark thanks for the comment.
my kinda forge. well done on the forge and great job on the video.
Thanks for watching
The magick of the flame! 🤩
Next one I'll do in 30 seconds LOL
Very Nice - Simple but it looks very effective

Thanks again for the great idea, here's what I made of it. czcams.com/video/qWClYGe3GTU/video.html

You really love your torch!
Lol i do it makes projects go faster.
I had a job once where my job title was Plant manager/Blacksmith Engineer, you have that kind of knowledge and talent.
Thank you so much for the comment AdamosDad.
This video makes me want to build a forge!
You can do it my friend have some fun thanks for watching and the comment
Nice shop. You have some pretty serious equipment.
The idea of adding a ring to increase the depth of your coals can also work out as a secondary use for this as a smelter
Thanks for the idea Jim.
I think everybody starts with a hairdryer for their first low-buck forge. I still have one that looks like it was in a housefire from my first, and it still blows air mostly out the front! Since moving up to a 'high bypass' leaf blower (😎) that can scream more air in for crucible days, my only problem is finding good diameter stainless steel that won't melt! Oddly enough, charcoal chimney-style starters are a lot more durable than you'd think for that purpose, or I lucked out and the factory that day was running Inconel, ha!
Yes, your coupler is silicone and will handle ~800F, though as you said, as long as air is passing through and around it, you'd have to worry about the welds melting down first long before your heat ever gets way down there!
Junkyard Forge works every time.
Great stuff. Thank you sir.
Glad you liked it thanks for the comment.
Nice little build for short money. Thanks for letting us watch. Be well my friend.
Thanks Hatch I've been sick sorry for the late reply.
Awesome job!
Thank you.
Great video, thanks!
Glad you liked it!
Thank you so much for the comment and watching.
Good project, I made my forge out of an old camping gas bottle, I cut it in half length way's and inverted one half into the other and seam welded them together, but not before cutting a hole for the hair dryer, then drilled holes along the length of the furnace bottom for air flow from the dryer, works brilliantly. All the best to you. Paul.
Cool idea
Did you sand off the exterior coating of enamel paint?
I agree with the comment below. Great Job!!!
Real good stuff.
Thank you
Very cool build thanks
Thanks for the comment glad you liked it
Very nice job Kevin.
Thanks Ron.
Fantastic !!!
Thank you for the comment
Very cool got pieces together for drum type just gotta weld legs and I didn't know about that rattler deal thinking I'm going to use some old t Post that were Bent should have 3 with enough straight to make leg's
That works thanks S.D.
Very impressive Kevin.
The flux core is running well & I think I will go down that road for fabrication of projects.!!
Tbh flux core is garbage
@@elijahbates9643 You're ego and lack of knowledge is showing. Please tuck all that back in.
looks great love the idea may use my old drums
Thanks for watching Rick
👍well done!
Thank you James
Great video thank you
I used the outer 16" rim ring from a cube van dually truck. The portion the tire would mount to unbolts and is then the perfect size for the coals. I remember the first times I started to weld. My teacher said "when your getting a good weld it should sound just like your frying up some good greasy bacon". That is a good reference when learning to weld imo. You'll squeeze a few more cfm using hairdriers if you disable the heating coil, since the colder the air becomes the more dense it becomes, its obvious that equals a hotter forge. That's merely nit picking ISPO. But if you can use a touch more of cfm it helps to get it there. Thanks for the upload blacksmith I always find some tips that are useful.
Thank you so much i appreciate all the tips.
Good video. Thanks for that.
No problem! Thanks for watching
I goning to build myself one, thanks for a great video Kevin.
Fun project
My first forge I used a bean can and silver tape to connect the hair dryer, worked as good as it needed to until I upgraded! The point is, if you want to give it a go just do it, find, beg, borrow or pilfer the materials to build and get started, you wont regret it, unless the pilfering part bites you in the arse!😂 get forging, its great fun and very addictive!
Thanks for the comment Paul.
That looks great!!
Would stop the birds getting down the chimney too!
Thanks i appreciate the comment and you watching.
