Yeah it's completely aligned if it were a 1 track machine. 23 more to go. Thank you for a good alignment demo though nicely done Ken.

input cal should be done before record level cal or you get level mismatch on the tape otherwise all the steps are covered correctly. I would have done in a slightly different order but close enough :)

Thinking the same, there are more things in the wrong order...

The machine should always be cleaned but I would be careful with de mag. If you do not know what you are doing you can magnetize the head more than de mag it.

"And the machine is completely aligned now". No, it isn't! Only track1 is aligned! :P

Useful video. However, you failed to mention at the beginning that you need to do those steps for EACH of the 24 channels. Some of your viewers may become confused at this. I did hear you mention that it does need to be done for each, but it was quick, and you were mumbling. However, like I stated earlier, it contained some very useful information. Thank you

Cue repro should really be set up after record align for a more accurate cue set up. if you record tones after record align and set cue to that it will be more accurate during overdubs and punch ins.

Hope you get this msg - some engineers use several freq's to bias a tape. They find a similar level for various freq's instead of overbias method. Are you familiar with this procedure ? Is it a common level after the bias peak point ?
