After season 2 stiles is no longer the comedic sidekick, he gets a lot more backstory, and becomes probably one of the most damaged and depressed characters in the show. You can still see his funny side but not nearly as much as it was in seasons 1 & 2. Something happens to him in season three, and he was never really the same afterwords, like he gets angry and frustrated really quickly and hardly trusts anyone. He’s my favourite character!!

The best thing about Teen Wolf is that Scott is not really a nerd, because he's kinda dumb and that's amazing. Like, we have a great leader who is kinda dumb but still a good person and has some people advising him. I also love the fact that he and Allison are just going straight to the boning

Okay, there isn't anything wrong with being 'girly,' however it does make sense. All the hunters I've seen in multiple shows, including Teen Wolf, are trained/raised to basically believe empathy (or anything along those lines) is a weakness. It can be inferred from the first episode Allison is mostly likely at least being trained in the ways of hunters, so what she said and how she was acting kind of weird when Scott said she was a girl does make sense. Of course you can say it's a teen drama trope because it is - but it does make sense if you watched a couple more episodes, or just used background knowledge to theorize how these hunters act. (Or inferred from when they attacked Scott in the woods rip) But S1 was kinda weak and I almost stopped watching if it wasn't for some twists and stuff that caught my attention, so I don't blame y'all if you couldn't watch anymore.

It gets better once you watch more. The cliches only get more complex and 3D dimensional. The characters actually develop unlike the ones in Riverdale. The show may have some problems but you have to give it a chance. The plot throughout the seasons is extremely interesting and diverse. I binge watched this show for 9 months and I haven’t REALLY liked a show that much since then.

the fact that you said 3D dimensional proves that only children are able to like this show. If you want character developement with great acting maybe watch Mad Men instead. 1. Scott wasnt on the lacrosse team till he became a werewolf with super reflexes, same for the way he looked, he wasnt buffed till he got his werewolf stuff

Scott is trying out for the lacrosse team, he’s not already on it. Maybe he did an Archie and toned up over the summer, or he’s not got an outgoing personality. Having Stiles, who doesn’t care about looking strange unless it’s Lydia, as his only known friend, can’t help. If Scott wears clothes that don’t show off his physique, then no one will really notice it. He’s not a nerd, but he’s not noticeable on the social scene.

yeah. I kinda hate when people say that this kinda attractive actor could not possibly be not popular. I mean the number of pretty people I know who are just not at the top in high school despite looking better than most of the bee queens/jocks.... It is more about personality and interests (sports, parties) than looks. (and interestingly that is somehow still not a good thing.)
Also for some reason I thought he was already in the team but never played due to his asthma making him incapable of keeping up with the team, that’s why he said “but coach I never played” but when he became a werewolf no more asthma...
But yeah, people assume that him being on the team automatically means he is not capable of being a nerd when in real life there are people who are on the school’s popular team but are considered nerds because they can’t even play and are overshadowed by people like Jackson

Legit everything in this show is explained and reasoned as you go on and the characters legit really develope. Like a shit ton. I thought it was shit and was just a "feel good" cliche show, which i'm down for, but it turned into something really cool and badass later on. I must admit it suffers in other areas but thats the charm imo. Theres a reason these cliche's exist, it's because people like them and make them nostalgic.
We shouldn't try to eradicate cliches (Yes I understand the first episode threw them at us like bags of shit but alas), we should allow creativity to flow and expand these tropes into something new

I wanna start a discussion here about Stydia. Don’t worry, not bashing them!!
SPOILER ALERT btw
I am a huge Sterek shipper and I am sad that they never happened in canon, but I also love Stydia.
They are the two people that went through maybe the most in the pack. They both had amazing character development.
That being said, I read a comment somewhere saying that Lydia and Stiles being endgame is going back to where it started and so had no character development there, and I want to rant about that.
Stiles and Lydia only ended up together in Season 6 because that’s when they were both finally ready for a relationship with each other. Lydia would not have dated Stiles in Season 1 when she was still hiding her smarts and Stiles needed to tone down his kind of obsessive crush on her. Throughout the show they eventually became friends and matured alongside each other. They dated other people (Lydia and Aiden, and Stiles and Malia). Stiles overcame the Nogitsune possession and Lydia grew into her Banshee powers. All these circumstances built up to the perfect point in their life to be with each other.

Best show ever yeah right it has all the basic characters that every show has which is bland. Also crappy love scenes and cringy dialogue and don’t even get me started about the fight scenes they were extremely bad so bad that they relied on putting it in slo-mo every 2 seconds during a fight.
The random hundreds of different powers people get out of nowhere like fire powers to lizard people etc. In conclusion the show is a fucking joke and should have stopped after season 1 pure cringe...

This show became epic in sn 3. Stilles stole the entire show, O'Brien's acting really shone through. I've never seen acting that great since. He's truly talented.

But the great thing about how all the tropes are in one episode like "new girl" and "comedic sidekick" is that as the show goes on, each character slowly looses that "trope" and becomes like, a real person, and that's one of the reasons i really enjoyed teen wolf! :)

Exactly. The series does not linger in the stereotypes. Instead, it actually offers completely valid and realistic reasons to why each character are the way they are, and act like they do - and on top of that they keep growing each season. None of them stay the same. It's truly great to watch the evolution of both story and characters from the first season - hell - from the very first episode, and till the point they are at now. I got into the series a bit late, but I have actually watched most of it twice simply because it is so detailed and rewatchable. The story, and especially the acting, is incredible, for a show that could seem like it was just marked towards teenagers. I'm a guy, 25 yo, and I love it. People who don't know it might make fun of it, but the depth and acting truly is worth classic status.

I do agree that the first season of Teen Wolf was very teen drama-ish but it did get really good in season 3. After that it kind of went downhill but the characters became more than just tropes over time. Season three had interesting plots and great dialogue imho. As a fan of the show I can be bias though and also the character who is Jacksons girlfriend ends up being one of the best characters on the show. I think this is better than Riverdale because they don't try to throw a bunch of useless storylines into the show. Sorry about this long comment, just wanted to get out my opinion and more about the show! LOve the videos!
