How Introverts Have 3 Creative Advantages

For as long as I can remember, I've used the excuse of being an introvert to justify my shortcomings. It always felt like the louder social butterflies were the ones who "made it", especially being in an industry that relies so much on networking. I constantly felt at a disadvantage as I held on to this weird extrovert vs. introvert mentality, and I'm sure there are many others who also feel this way.
Over time, this divide I created in my mind faded. Maybe it was after seeing the progression of my career, or simply meeting more people throughout my life. So rather than seeing it as a weakness to overcome, I made a video to see introversion in a different light. Great video, I find myself mostly being an extrovert, but I also have a lot of times where I find myself being introvert more and more. Living in China for 10 years has made me appreciate just being alone with no other people or loud sounds. I regularly choose not to go out to big events here as I cant stand the hustle and bustle. I still go out and socialize and still defo an extrovert, but its really nice just to be able to appeciate your own company. I still procrasinate a fair amount though lol

It's always interesting to hear how people can change social preferences over time! Introversion & extroversion isn't black and white either, and I also have extrovert friends who started valuing their time alone more. It sounds like you could also be an introverted extrovert, but I start getting confused with all these labels 😅 Ultimately, it's important to be aware of our needs and preferences, and I'm glad to hear you are!
