- I have been looking at different kayaks to jump into after deciding to leave the Hobie platform. Keep in mind, I've fished Hobie for many years now, and will still keep my outback for what it excels at - rivers and sneaky launches.
My buddy let me take his TitanX Propel 12.5 for a spin to see if it would be a kayak that I would spend the cash on. I was very impressed with the platform and compare it to my experience in the PA14 180 and the Outback.
I hope you enjoy my honest opinion!
I got me a 13.5 Vibe Sea Ghost 130 and i love that thing. Very stable and surprisingly easy to maneuver. I got a dual troller on it to make it a lot more fun. I like how deep that Titan is inside.
One of the, if not the, best on the water reviews of a kayak I have seen. Thank you for your thoughts on this kayak. You just earned a subscriber.
Ah man, that really means a lot to me my friend. Thanks for the sub!
Thank you sir for showing this detailed review of this kayak. I’ve watched many walkthrough reviews of kayaks, but you took it to another level by actually showing it to us in the water! Tight lines and take care God bless!
Glad it was helpful!
Appreciate the comment! Really helps me as I start to develop this channel more and more.
This will be my next yak with the NK 300
just discovered the channel and i'm excited to check it out. i grew up in belleville and fished the lake many times!
Nice! Got a love hate relationship with this lake. But always a good time ha.
@@a2angler273 if you ever want to shore fish like the old days, under huron river dr where the river runs into the metropark is good for smallies and muskie
Great Video! I just got my Titan X 12.5 yesterday and I can't wait to take it out. Hopefully next week once I am done rigging it out.
Nice dude! I went and picked one up too! More videos coming!
Great video and really nice to see such a detailed perspective on the fishing side of things not just going through the kayak features. Caution your friend on using the front handle to pull the kayak, there have been reported issues with the handle ripping out when used for pulling horizontally, the two bolts are not enough for the size of the boat.
Definitely. Thanks for the tip!
Talk about a real-time review. Native should definitely reach out to you!
Thank you!!! It was my first time ever in the platform! Full review coming soon!
Thanks chris
yesss the black and green one was my pic 12:46 was also the best part
You know it!!!
I’m living for the office chair like chair on the boat. Next thing you know it’s wheeling around while you’re fishing.
I guess if your core goes, but I don't see that happening. Definitely in transport maybe? But the seat can also lock in!
I drive left handed..I steer my Nucanoe left handed..(just got the TitanX 10.5)but I’m right handed…so it works for me
Love to hear it! I’m sure it’s not too hard to retrain, right?
I think the left-hand steer is because most anglers are right-handed. I think its just easier to steer while holding the rod in the casting hand. There's no switching hands.
Yeah. I completely understand that. Just interesting that hobie has the dual steering and opens themselves to a larger market with such a small detail. Like I said, for me being a right hand retriever, I’ll just learn to switch hands quickly. Shouldn’t be too difficult.
@a2angler273 It may be something they consider after angler feedback. Let hope they make the change in the coming years. I really enjoyed your review. It was something I have been waiting for. It definitely helped make my buying my first fishing kayak easier
@@davegarcia3822 Really appreciate it man!
if you get the rudder at the correct angle, you can slowly backpedal and skate the shoreline.
That sounds cool. I gotta try that!
might have to check this one out...Hobie is starting to get too cost prohibitive just to maintain
I highly recommend this product concerning many significant kayak angling points. Bit heavy, but a beast of a kayak!
I thought that about Hobie then I saw influencers with $3000 just in Lithium batteries (two trolling motor batts) in their NuCanoe (U10?) or other cheaper brand fishing kayaks. A geared up kayak and they are worried about finding the least expensive, but still capable, hull?
Very good review. Thanks. Interesting, the difference in the way we fish. I’m profoundly left handed, but reel with my right hand. I need to steer with my right and rod stage on the left. I’m not interested in retraining. Native makes no provision for switching the steering to starboard so they leave me out. Seems like a serious engineering design fault on Native’s part to ignore 12% of the population. I’ll have to stick with Hobie and Wilderness.
Well said. I was curious why they didn’t go with dual steering. Maybe that’s patented or something, but definitely curbs the market for some people!
why tf am I watching something like this that costs $3.6k that's just ridiculous
am I gonna buy it... Yeah, probably..
Ha. I mean… I talked to a buddy of mine in a 360 PA 14… fully geared out at like 15K … it’s insane nowadays. This at least gets ya competitive with the platform then you trick it out starting at a much lower price!
I would recommend it. I love mine!
Easier to build your own wood canoe.
Been going back and forth between this and a pwr129. Finally decided on the TitanX
