- From the outset of the Russian invasion, one of Ukraine's key concerns was that its Western allies would eventually feel war fatigue. But nearly a year into the conflict, there's no sign of slowed support for Kyiv. Several Western nations announced a new wave of military aid this week. But what about support for the Kremlin? Who are its allies and what form does their support take? For more, Samuel Ramani, an associate fellow at the Royal United Services Institute for Defence and Security Studies, joined us on Perspective.

You got it wrong, you can be ally and yet condemn if your friend does something wrong. If you measure Russian allies from the Vote at the UN, then you are still sleeping. There are instances where your mother supports your sister against you and doesn't make her your enemy. She still remains your mother. Wrong is wrong, allies or rivals, doesn't change it. It remains wrong 😕
Allies is not a word that describes those 5 countries that didn't condemn Russia in The UN, those countries are aligned with Russia, but are not obligated to help them, like Article 5 in Nato. In reality, Russia is a 3rd world country with nuclear weapons, and the bulk of the countries actually aiding Russia, are themselves 3rd world economies, The only hope that Mr. Putin has is the West lose interest in the conflict. Though with the $45 Billion in aid from the US already approved and the rest of the aid coming from Nato, the chances of Russian sustainability are diminishing daily.

China and India refused to give weapons to Russia and are buying with a big discount russian ressources. Center asia countries like Kazakhstan augmented their ressources export to the EU and distanced themselves from Putin.

India and Pakistan were black listed by the USA in the 60s when they developed their own nukes. They both turned towards the USSR. Rightly so, many many conflicts were averted because India, China and Pakistan were buying their weapons from the USSR.
A world war in Asia will be so much scarier that what has and is happening in Europe.
India is literally at war with Pakistan over the Cachemire region and is in a military conflict with China in the Himalayas.
They just care less than europeans about this war because they are less affected by it (and they can get cheap gas)

Currently India is trying to start production of its own weapons and has recently made a deal with the USA about getting weapons at a discount because US made weapons are better quality than Russian made weapons.

These countries also don't need constant growing to stay rich. Stagnation is better than a shrinking economy and even a little contraction will not budge most European countries from being richer than most.
Russia is supported by people who are well-informed on world politics and propaganda. That's a small amount of people who choose to educate themselves on this conflict and not those feeling emotionally about it.

But Xi did respond a couple of days ago asking Putin when he is going to end the war. Putin and Russia is getting more desperate and isolated every day. As an arm exporter, Russia is loosing all his market share. Due to the war, it can't fulfil his his actual contracts, but the world is also seeing first hand how bad Russian armament is compare to all other sources.
