    Video Overview:
Best Self Tanner? Bali Body, St Tropez, Bondi Sands, Isle of Paradise, Mine Tan- Tan Showdown
In this video I compare several popular self tanners from brands like St Tropez, Bondi Sands, Bali Body, Isle of Paradise and Mine Tan. I apply each of these self tan mousses and self tan drops on camera and compare the before and after transformation on my skin. I rate each fake tan on smell, color, lasting time, ease of application, fade, and more to figure out with self tanner is the best.

Try dusting your skin with baby powder after a few minutes especially where your skin creases. I do it every time and it works great! No sticky feeling and it doesn’t hurt the results of the tan.

    • @gabzgabz14
      @gabzgabz14 Pƙed 3 lety +87

@@adventurousbec it removes the sticky feeling that some self tanners leave and it also prevents the tan from moving in areas where our body naturally folds and creases (which can sometimes cause the tan to develop unevenly or transfer, etc). Baby powder just soaks up any unwanted moisture that can cause mishaps as the tan is developing

    Great review.
Imho self tanning varies hugely depending on the skin tone , age & your basic moisture content.
For me Bondi sands everyday milk
and Loreal sublime bronze non tinted both work well for me but are not dark just giving a nice glow which increases gradually over a few days use.
Biggest advantage is dry in 4 minutes and zero colour transfer to even white clothes.

I have been using St Tropez for years. I prefer the express mousse. I apply at night and sleep. I keep it on overnight. You don’t have to but I prefer to. I use a baby powder in the creases after I take my blow dryer to speed up the drying time. I do find you have to be extra careful on the hands so I will put moisturizer on them and then I go in and blend on my hands. If you shave and exfoliate I suggest waiting a few hours until you are completely dry and the pores have closed.

What a AMAZINGLY organized video!!! You do SUCH a good job with these tanning videos - your demos and descriptions are just perfect. I appreciate this!
I recently tried Bondi Sands for the first time. Previously, I had mostly always used banana boat deep dark color lotion
I never really allowed myself to spend too much money on self Tanners. And that stuff was
OK. So by comparison the Bondi Sands is amazing!!! That coconut smell is just amazing and no weird self tanner smell is such a big plus. I thought it gave me amazing color
 The fade has been OK
but I really didn’t exfoliate myself very good before application so it’s hard to fairly rate it. I’m excited to try the I think third one from your video here that express one that you love so much! Thank you again!â˜șïžâ€ïžđŸ™đŸ»đŸ˜˜

As an avid Bondi Sands user, I like the Aero versions of their products a lot more than the traditional foams. They dry down so well, and the fade for me is much better than their traditional foam. For me it won't get patchy like the foam does, and I can get at least 6 days or so out of it. So that part can depend on the person since based on Abbey's review since it faded faster for her. I love to top up the tan for the last couple days of an application with their Liquid Gold gradual tan oil or their Pure gradual tan lotion. And if you want a darker initial tan, 100% go for their Ultra Dark shade. Their Pure face lotion is also amazing (I have sensitive skin and I don't break out with this or get irritated. I put it on at night and wake up with it perfect in the morning. It also pairs well with the 1hr express. I don't put the express on my face, I'll do the Pure instead and they match up perfect by morning).
*sidenote: I am pale, with no significant yellow/pink/olive undertones, but tans can pull orange on me. The 1 hr aero express, the dark foam, the aero Liquid Gold, the Pure face, and the Pure gradual tan lotion look natural on me and not overly dark.

You need to try the bondi sands ultra dark. It’s sooooo nice. I put it on 9 days ago and it’s fading the best I’ve ever had a tanner fade, smells amazing, and is super dark. It does weirdly take like 24 hours to get the full color though, I wonder if the dark is like that too. When you first wash it off it’s light and kind of green and then the next day you’re suddenly golden. Loved this video and appreciate the time put in to make it!

I have found the Bondi Sands Aero Express dark is better then the regular dark in terms of color development and tone. The key is I rinse after about 6 hours but I do not use soap as the directions say I believe because it continues to develop. I find the color to be the most natural on me. I just can’t find anything that compares and I always go back. I do add a few drops of the isle of paradise drops to my moisturizer on day 4 just to refresh the tan. Loved this video!!

Bondi Sands Ulta Dark is my fav of all time. The olive colored foam gives me the perfect undertone. From my knees up I can pretty much use basically any shade, but from the knees down my fair legs can get orange super quickly. It smells like coconut the whole time it’s developing and doesn’t stink after washing it off. It doesn’t start looking bad until day 6 and on the 7th day, I can scrub it off and reapply.

Yes indeed, the Bondi Sands Aero 1 hour is the tanner for me. I am SUPER pale (I say I'm actually transparent😁) with REALLY pinkish undertones. This is the ONLY one, even comparing other Bondi Sands tanners, that doesn't look orange on me. I'm a bit older, so I have used ALMOST all of them as well. To get dark enough, I reapply after 1/2 hour and leave it on for 3-31/2 hours. I really like that the color guide is greenish because I feel it is the most natural looking on my skin. I'm definitely looking for TANNING DROPS that give similar colors because, again, the Pure drops from this leaves me really orange. Thanks for your time💗

I have the aero bondi ultra dark in my Amazon cart, but haven’t made the leap yet. Does it have a strong smell in your opinion?
Edit- also, does it have a color guard and does it dry down quickly? I just tried b.tan. Not tanned af, but “I want the darkest tan possible” or whatever ridiculous name it’s called lol I liked the result, but it didn’t blend as seamlessly as others I’ve tried. Had to work at it, but still rinsed off nicely. The thing I didn’t like was that it took quite awhile to dry down. But for 10 bucks, how much can I really complain. The foam comes out legit not green, but GRAY. It’s weird to see, but I’m all for it. I have cool toned skin, so I’d rather gray than orange. Says you only have to leave it on for an hour, but of course I did 2 coats and left it on for 8 lol. Going way past an hour really made a difference in developing. It’s suppose to be scentless and at first it seems to be, but I started to detect that fake tan smell lingering the day after I showered. I’m really sensitive to bad smells tho and it wasn’t as bad as most cheap self tanners. That’s why I’m wondering about how the bondi smells.

@@mavs4169 about the same here. I’ve used Bondi Sans last year and two bottle this year. I also tried the aero, did not like it. It did dry quicker
but no color! BUT after seeing this I’m rethinking the whole thing and going to give Bali a try! Here’s hoping it works as well, if not better!!!!

Abby, I love these videos! You have such a great energy! I would love a video of your All-Time-Top-3-Self-Tanners! I'd also love to see you review drops, especially the drops from Isle of Paradise and the Clarins drops which I swear by, but I've never heard anyone else talking about them! I also personally swear by the Coco&Eve Sunny Honey Bali Bronzing Foam for self tanning on the body. If you do a third vid, would love to see it reviewed! You rock! Big fan!

I use this one, it’s the only one I’ve tried so far, but, I like it. I got the deep bronze self tanning mousse. It does get really dark for each layer you go. And for me it last between 5-7 days. I workout and work in jeans and stuff a lot so it rubs off a little faster for me. But it goes on pretty well, and pretty evenly. I recommend it, especially if you’re a beginner, the dark color of the mousse helps see where you apply it a little better. There is not much of an orange color, a very little bit, but barely, only I could tell that I was a little orange. Also, the color did not transfer on my clothes. I waited about 15 minutes before getting dressed after putting it on, to help prevent it a little. There is a little bit of a sticky touch to your skin after applying it, but once you shower, you’re skin gets super soft. I do recommend it.

For your tanning drops I'd like to hear what you think about Tan Luxe. I too wasn't impressed with Bondi Sands. I tried the darkest one. Color was underwhelming. I do love their gradual tanning oil. I also just bought their powder that you use to help with sticky spots after putting tanner on. I haven't tried it yet. Have you tried these kind of powders after applying tanner and do they work?

Yours is one of my very favorite channels! I find that when I use an oil based first step double cleanse on my face, it seems to remove a lot of my self tan. Have you found that for yourself or has another faithful viewer mentioned it? I used two coats of the Tanologist Water today and it worked better, like you said it would! So I am a redhead with blue eyes and freckles but a neutral skin tone. I can tan slightly but burn easily. I would say the Bondi sands foam in medium is absolutely perfect for me. It looks natural, not orange, and lasts a very long time. I also love that it fades so naturally and not in patches. For my face I don't use that. I use the naked skin light.

Also don't want to fry and age my skin! Also... I am wondering about the product Youniqe. They have tanning drops that you just add to whatever body lotion you want to use and then just apply. Supposedly doesn't have that "smell" which is what I'm trying to find!! So I hope you try that self tanner sometime and give your thoughts on their product!
