Dobara: The drams was delivered and it was delivered amazingly, while the emotions were portrayed perfectly, too.
The entire sequence from Mehru and Mahir walking into the house to Affan saying that he has to leave his mother and then proceeding to take the gun to first kill him and then himslef was perfectly directed and portrayed. And the two best parts were the rain that gave it an even more dramatic effect and that they maintained an intrigue factor in the first quarter of the episode as to who had been shot, though when you only see Mehru inside the room, you kinda deduce that it's Mahir. And I loved the fact that the friend hasn't been forgotten and is present in major events and even kinda helps the story move on as Mahir's father and Mehru didn't know eachother and they met because of Babar. The talk they both had in the end was so emotional and I'm happy that at least the father has taken the step to accept Mehru as Mahir's wife, and not calling her just Mrs. Hidayatullah. I think the last seconds Mehru cried was more because of the acceptance and less because of Mahir's state. Coming to Affan, I really hope he goes to jail. I'm seriously despising him a lot, but kudos to Usama for portraying the emotions so well. Aur Zameer ki toh kya hi baat ki jaaye, all the viewers will agree that we hate him to death and want him to get exposed in front of Mehru and Minal. And honestly, his character has become quite monotonous, but the acting is good. The hillarious part of the episode was still "phoppo khamosh ho jaayein" by Minal.
Next episode seems intresting just because Mahir will give a statement to the police, and I really hope ki Affan ko ek do din toh jail ki hawaa lage. But what I really want is that Mahir villain na bane, because the story would get spoiled.
    Excited for all to unfold.

Finally you understood Aye Musht e khak. It might have flaws but It’s different and good drama. Ask the ones who go through the same situation in real life. Dobara: Just want to praise Minal, I really liked her performance in the last episode. It appeared that she is the elder of the house, who is trying to handle & ease the situation by telling Affan what to do and at the same time following up on Mahir's condition as well as her mother's. Two particular scenes were my favorite, one where she tells Phuppo - yeh aap ke waja se howa hai, aap barka rahee thee Affan ko and then tells her k please khamosh rahein (I was laughing as well as clapping at the same time), and second one - when she calls Zameer and asks him about Maa and he replies k itna toh aunty uncle k intiqal p itna nahee rohee jitna is makkar k liye and she replies k yeh konsa waqt hai tanz karnay ka 👏👏👏

Dobara: a very powerful episode with outstanding performances. Of course Hadiqa and Sakina are amazing but Usama really nailed it this week. Also credit to Danish Nawaz for the scene where he gets shot. The rain added the perfect amount of dramatic effect imo. The question that this drama raises is so good. Why is she answerable to her children and to society for marriage? He’s shown to be a sensible 25+ year old man who’s interested and loves an older woman. We see two broken people consoling each other with marriage and love. If there’s nothing islamically wrong about it then why do people in society feel the need to label it as “besharmi and begharti”. This conversation is so much better than your typical saas bahu problems which makes Dobara so interesting to watch.
Aye musht e khaak: episode 20 was surprisingly great because of the plot movement. I loved iffat omars performance which was surprisingly not over the top this time. Not sure how her claiming her son is an atheist is enough for the court to make a ruling on their marriage but at least the plot moved forward. I like how duas parents are supportive and don’t care about their daughter being labeled as a divorced woman. But it still makes NO sense to me as to why dua married such an unreligious man in the first place. He has absolutely nothing appealing about him in terms of personality. He’s violent, has anger issues, drinks, had girlfriends, doesn’t know what wudhu is and says some alarming things about religion. Granted she didn’t know about some of these problems but when she takes him to the masjid she should’ve rejected him right there. For someone like dua who literally studies Islam why is his behaviour and lack of Islamic knowledge not a red flag? How do the parents not know that it’s a bad idea? Makes no sense to me which is why the plot kinda falls apart. Aside from this MAJOR flaw the drama seems to be picking up the pace and is not going how I expected it. If dua gets married to that other dude is bobby just gonna stay the way he is? Will he have a spiritual awakening? What will happen to Nimras character? As long as they don’t end up together I’ll be happy I guess.

I totally agree. I'm so glad that Dua got divorced for all the right reasons! It's so annoying to see dramas where the girl has to compromise no matter what and not divorce. If the girl even wants to divorce, family pressure, husband at the end asking for forgiveness for all the wrongdoings, and somehow pregnancy does not allow her to do so.

  • @mahnoorqureshi3281

Dobara: What Hadiyat ullah couldn’t give Mehru during his lifetime, Maher gave her in a month, that is why she was crying for him and could not for her former husband. Beautiful, emotional scene between Mahir’s dad and Mehru, accepting her as his DIL. Hadiqa never stops to amaze us with her performance. Not Maher, but Mr. Be Zameer and Saher would play dirty.
Afaan is short tempered and impulsive, no doubt. It is also very difficult for the children to expect the re marriage of any of the parents, but going to the extent of willing to commit suicide for honour and pride, feeling shameful to face the society, ( as he said), is women specific only. The society only makes memes and jokes when an older , 50 year old man marries an 18 year old girl, but when a woman marries s younger man, it crucifies her even when the age difference is not that much. She is harassed, her character is assassinated, and she is even called a paed*phile. Men, no matter how shady their own character may be, how dishonest they may be, their honour is compromised only when their mother, daughter or sister does something that is considered a taboo. Afaan would have never gone to the extent of trying to shoot himself, if it were his father marrying a girl, even younger than Afaan himself.

What is also amazing about Dobara is that it's not just the role reversal in terms of age. There is another angle to it, in most arranged marriages women base their decisions on money and men base it on the beauty of the women or her being younger. In Dobara we do see both Mehru and Mahir basing their decisions on these things only in reverse, and it feels odd to us highlighting our subconscious bias. It is amazing to see that the role reversal has so many layers in Dobara.

AMEK: All I have to say for this one is that, even though I consider myself a hardcore feminist and I'm happy that Duaa's parents supported her in whatever she did, I honestly feel that Bobby deserves better than Duaa and he should move on from her. I never in my life thought that I would defend a Feroze Khan's character and I 100% agree that Bobby's toxic, but Duaa's mentality is even more toxic for me as, again, she's trying to impose an entire belief system on someone who hasn't had even the slightest influence of his religion on him. And it's not like Bobby compromise karne ke liye ready nahi tha or that he didn't love her. In fact, the biggest proof of his love was his honesty to her, as he could've just lied that he's a believer and pretended to know all about his religion. But he didn't and chose to tell her the truth. On the other hand, Duaa looked like an entitled person jo sirf apni soch ko importance deti hai, and if someone tries to tell her that not everyone has to think like her or there are different thought processes in this world, she will say "my way or the highway". The worst part is that they've shown agnostics and atheists as bad people who are toxic, while believers who have toxic traits are defended. For me personally, both of them are wrong, but if there is a situation in which I had to choose who's more wrong, it's Duaa.
I wish they would show that not everyone is a believer and they're not bad people, but obviously the end will be a teaching ki Bobby ki zindagi uske atheism ki wajah se barbaad ho gayi, while Duaa was always the one bound to win because she believed in God, which is pretty much every Feroze Khan's character and drama's ending.
P.S: I agree that it's not Duaa's responsibility to change Bobby, and again I'm happy that the parents supported Duaa.

First of all few drops of rain appear which gradually and quickly transformed into this much heavy rain. Secondly, after a short time, Zameer was standing outside the hospital with no rain at all. There was a scene in a teaser before the drama started where Mehru's daughter says k vo jail chala jayga. It was evident from that teaser that afaan would hurt Mahir somehow. Same with Ishq e laa whose teaser before the start of the drama showed a scene where Azlaan is sitting in an office like in Principal's office or something and Azka is sitting behind him which indicated that he would be involved with her education at the University.

I haven't been watching Aye musht e khaak but do watch your review of it. I want to add one thing. Dua might be arrogant, I haven't seen the drama so I can't comment on it but what I know is that if Mustajab really is an atheist, the nikah is nullified. May be that's why Dua is not going towards the route of reforming Mustajab with love. Islam does not allow a Muslim girl to marry a non Muslim so if nikah has been done without knowing then as soon as it is known, the girl cannot live with the man. If he was a Muslim but was not practicing it then the nikah would have been allowed and Dua could take a soft tone with Mustajab and try to reform him but since that's not the case, it is good that she left him. But Dua was stupid not to realize his thought process and beliefs before marriage.

Was desperately waiting for your review on Dobara...skipped directly to Dobara's review: IT WAS AMAZINGGG.
Dobara: I must confess that I HAVE A HUGE CRUSH ON HADIQA KIANI❤❤❤❤❤ I wish i could meet her someday. The episodes are all extremely engaging and intriguing so much that every time I watch the same episodes repeatedly(for the fourth time from the beginning) there is a different layer to peel from the drama. Every dialogue gives a new perspective every time it is repeated. I really wish that the drama extends beyond 24 episodes. Personally, I don't mind if the drama is longer as long as it has engaging content to show and Dobara must continue. I have literally started to live the life of the characters now and keep thinking about what must be happening with them now. Hadiqa Kiani has given life to Mehru's character and her chemistry with Mahir is so good!!! I wish that they had shown a little in the gunshot scene how Mahir fell and how helpless Hadiqa was feeling when nobody in her family was there to save her husband and how she got through to the hospital and when she caresses his forehead, I wish it was a little more intimate and passionate with perhaps some more intense dialogues of confessing her love and attachment for Mahir or something along the lines.

dear, they always understood. it's how the way they tell the story thinking we are stupid! it took them 15 episodes to reach this point? Direction lapse, writing lapse, which makes the story even more ridiculous. they themselves said from day 1; AMEK has a very very strong premise. but the writing is so unbelievable. dua preaching all the time with a sermon. seriously, do normal humans do that? feroze's loud acting. dayaan's accident scene was the most funniest and ridiculous scene ever. if you put all these together, that's what made AMEK quite poor. they never criticised the story, they always it was a strong story if they never included so many fillers and bad acting. it was rather the people involved they criticised. hope you understand and if you still don't it's okay :) we can always enjoy without scrutinizing anything.

Questions about his religious faith should have been raised when the proposal had come. Dua says at one time that she would marry a darwesh tabiyat man. This should have been her fundamental standing when the proposal had come. Moreover, the drama is a daras more than a drama. Too much to see in the entertainment hour. You will understand.
