You all are being fooled into believing that pac was something that he was not. Watch the video where he was messing up so badly on reciting the lyrics to can you get away that he gave away the fact that he was reading the lyrics. He had to actually pick up the tablet. Stop believing fairy tales. Pac was a rapper who used vocal inflections. He had to record some songs in pieces. You do not know if you do not record.

Biggie did write his raps, he even said so on “I Got A Story To Tell” on his last album LAD. What Biggie would do is write his raps before hand and remember what he wrote so when it came time to record he made it seem like was off the dome and remembered it. Pac knew what he wanted to say on a song and just wrote it down then went in the booth in laid his verses down perfectly. Respect to Too $hort but Biggie wrote as well he just would study his lyrics before he got to record then laid his verse down, where as Pac knew what he wanted to say wrote it down then rapped his verse.

Lmao..that’s a Snapple…they do need to write it.
I’ll say this though…(when I was still on it) once I stopped writing and started memorizing, or, free writing as I called it, I noticed that it, in a sense, freed up the confinement of the “words in the lines” concept, for me. Made me create bars with less constraints , less confined, if that makes sense. It also helped my sharpness in terms of practice because anytime I went to the lab, I was always ready (time was money and I was NOT trying to waste my session time lol).
      But, it’s not for everyone.
Yeah, Big saw Hov do it and it sparked something in Big’s head and the rest was history. He was inspired, straight up. That’s what the greats do. Hov was destined.
“And I told my ninja Big I’d be multi before I die “
“Big I did it! Multi before I die!”

@@Asanda82Big didn’t copy Jay but both Jay and Big starting writing in their heads organically away from each others presents/knowledge. Jay says as much in his book Decoded, he started doing it just being on the block not having time to be writing but it being such a passionate hobby he found himself memorizing rhymes. Then it became like a game to see how many bars he could memorize so by the time he started recording for real it was like second nature. Big on the other hand started Ready to Die off writing, but by the time he and Jay collaborated for Brooklyn’s finest he wasn’t as Jay himself confirms.

I don’t think it’s accurate that Jay Z got that writing in his head thing from Biggie. There’s a lot of conflicting stories about Biggie’s writing process. Biggie himself said he can’t freestyle and has to write his rhymes down. Some rappers have said that they saw Biggie write. Others have said similar stories to Too Short. I respect Short for doing a song with Biggie during war time. He knew Pac was gonna hear The World Is Filled when it came out and had no problem doing music with Bad Boy. He wasn’t scared like some other rapper(s) we could name.
