Besides that the movie is dialogue is a large amount Improved. the original story thor 3 Ragnarok is largely based on the planet Hulk comic strip story. but Disney didn't want to do a Hulk solo film. because of how a notoriously bad the Hulk movies had done in the past. So they tailored it into a Thor movie and change the parental lineage of hela from Loki to odin to keep with their feminazi agenda. rebelling because her not receiving the title of next in line for the throne because of vagina. Instead of being Loki's daughter tires of our fathers scheming and that lead nowhere and decides to rule the Land of the Dead and Asgard herself.
Uses every right to feel that way the original Planet Hulk storyline had the Marvel's Illuminati knock his ass out and send him in a rocket ship to outer space. because he is potentially too dangerous. yeah he helped save the world but apparently that's not worth their trust. No matter how much time he spent with the Avengers the only saw him as their monster for smashing.

Banners character was changed in a good way though.
He's not cliche like the rest and when you think about it he is still brave.
He isn't afraid to turn into the hulk when most needed but he is afraid of the consequences.
I mean in infinity war he literally ran straight for thanos, without being the hulk. That's pretty brave if you ask me.
Thor became less serious when he left Earth as he realised not everything had to be about him or his people. Plus he did bond with Loki overtime creating less friction.

I love Mark Ruffalo's contribution to this film! In my opinion, he represented trying to control a panic attack really well, and added realism. The massive (though amazing) effects and action scenes can sometimes take away from the reality a little for me, but he managed to add it back in.
I love how Thor learned a trick or two from Loki.. he even tricked Loki "The Trickster", dude has become very intelligent in this movie.

Why they change continuity n storytelling ? Because the previous one didn't work. They try doubling down on the drama fantasy romance thing with Dark World and even hired GoT director, yet it still feels generic.
I was like u. I dont like Ragnarok. Way to jokey n look at how they shot Banner Thor dialogue scene. It looks straight out of will ferrel movies.
When i rewatch it, i convince myself it wasn't comedy, come prepared for the "screw it let's move on" attitude n had a blast. Instead of thinking how i think it should be i try to understand why they do it. Maybe then we'll like it. Dunno.
Justice League was proof how boring superhero genre can be which iam glad Marvel Studios made a bold decision with Ragnarok. Superhero genre across many media have to evolve, change or adapt cause they wont have definitive end, unless nobody consume 'em anymore. To play around with it is a must.
I liked it too...Thor is 1500 years old and he's not a human being he probably doesn't react to things in the same manner. His scene in Infinity War with Rocket pretty much explains his personality a bit more. Even in real life you do have people that are capable of putting on a jovial and upbeat persona even after loved ones die, not everyone has nervous breakdowns and go into depression. Being as old as he is Im sure he's lost a lot of people and has had to learn to deal with over the years.

This movie is a perfect example of inspired direction. Waititi took a decent super-hunk and turned him into a multi-layered comedian and the movie into a shifty dialog on masculinity. Thor is resentful, envious, wheedling, passive-aggressive, manipulative, insecure and pompous, and he's never been better, or more human or more heroic.
