After watching the blu-ray version, holy crap. They didn't have those parts come out a third time and instead the armor appears and comes out from her body, and they also changed the color of Hibiki's eyes from yellowish orange to red, all while zooming out from her slowly in the final frame.
When I saw the "Epic" in the title, I thought "Pfft, yeah, sure, it's gonna be about as epic as stepping in something slightly unpleasant". Then I watched it, and it's actually kinda awesome. Could be done more with, but definitely better than expected.
@@ericx6969 Those are good, but this is just raw, and the feeling it conveys is different than the normal transformations. The first season was the edgier in a good way.
Why would you remake perfection? I still maintain that the first season was the best, especially from a storytelling perspective. Don't misunderstand, I love all of the seasons, but the first season was the only one that sent chills down my spine and tears to my eyes. Emotional damage was real. Especially since I didn't know there had been more seasons for years. I guess that given the way the show opens, the stakes felt much higher. Definitely on edge during a Climax Song, with what happened at the opening concert.
I love how, despite the music, the way the scene is framed and the visual's are portrayed ius haunting and unsettling. With the metal fibes reaching out of her heart like vines to corrupt the rest of her body, and infect it, all while Hibiki's is in clear and utter agony. The mechanical cybernectis erupting from her body with those large vine-like cables constantly extending and retracting. Being accompanied by Hibiki's own cries of pain lets you know this is in no way a *normal* transformation, even for a Symphogear user. With that final shot giving her a more psychotic look despite the supposedly heroic nature she is meant to have. Its especially dark when you realize in the second season, thanks to the whole timelimit thing Hibki had. That she had to go through *all* of this pain, every time she transformed until Miko blasted her with Shenshoujin. The fact that the writers had done details like this *on purpose* and worked in foreshadowing all throughout the story of the first season despite the... flaws. It's really kinda amazing the level of effort that actually went into it when you notice all the little details hidden in the season.
No just when she normally sings hr activation song. If you look closely at the energy around her on how it says largo, allegro, and then the close up of their new designs of their symphogear without being overly "fanservicey".
Ah. Thought you meant in relation to this one in particular. In which case, that scene would be the best parallel I can think of. Well, that, or when she punched the Noise right before the transformation kicked in. *THAT* was awesome. Made sense, too, when you think of who she was taught by.
Sort of. It's a transformation triggered by a song that only she knows. She has a relic that responds to it and becomes armor and a weapon. I highly recomend this anime.
Painful first transformation (also one of my favorites), but it gets the point across that transforming is not just fun and games. This is probably one of my favorite scenes in the entire series.
Modern mahou shoujo already is directly inspired by toku. Teams of color-coded magical girls only became a thing when sailor moon tried to mimic the super sentai/power ranger formula into a mahou shoujo anime format
@iluvicecream213 The fangs are simply part of what I personally call rage mode, though it disappeared about 5 seconds later. Though it appears again in episode 3
@123CGM123 He's right you know there is nothing magical about her, simply biological compatibility with the suit, and the suit is not magical either, it's simply hi-tech mecha armor that happens to be activated by music.
Just being ancient mysterious technological technology does not exclude Tachibana from being a "Magical Girl" since that is the genre of the whole show itself, and "Magical Girl" doesn't have to be a literal term.
Second Season, her relic fragments in her chest start killing her. Season 3-5 she uses a relic pendant of Gugnir that she kind of stole from Maria at the end of season 2 because she got hit by a relic erasing beam that saved her life from her own relic fragments. Also when she held Durandal she got taken over by the sword not once but twice, and in the second season she loses an arm and regrows it in her corrupted form.
@Realist2615 Oh um, by agreed, I meant I agreed with the epic transformation, though it's got to be painful, I personally don't think that ep. 2 was THAT much of a disappointment, of course, I immediately followed with ep. 3
Para-DX Gamer so you are the guy Hojo-san told me. Do you know who i am? I am Tenkuuji Takeru. On my 18th birthday, I was killed by Gamma. To return to life, I became Kamen Rider Ghost and gather the Eyecons. And i'm gonna stop you and your bugster friends. Your damn Kamen Rider Chronicle game must be destroy forever. Human potential is infinite and my life is burning bright!
Yes... actually this very character does that by punching a monster that instantly carbonizes normal humans with her bare fist, and *then* transforms. Mind you the monsters in question can only *be* hit if your transformation is activated, and yet she still hit it.
better animated watch GX. Funding was low. Its way better. I know its a magical girl but i cant bring myself to call it that along with my otome cause they are little children making out like some other shows ( which i know I watched and enjoyed). Like I know hibiki and the girls from vivid red are 14-15 but hibiki at least looks like she went through puberty. Its more bad ass than loli.
***** I made it point of paying very close attention to Hibiki's movements throughout all of Symphogear for something that I'm doing, and I don't remember her running in place, when in episode 10 does it happen?
The transformation itself is awesome... But they really make you think she is just gonna go absolutely apeshit and destroy everything that moves. Ep2 was a little disappointing.

I can’t believe this show is already 11 years old
THIS UNDERRATED GEM DON'T MISS, AND I'M ON GX! 😤😤😤😤😤🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
This year is the 12th year already😭
And.
We're not done.
When I saw the "Epic" in the title, I thought "Pfft, yeah, sure, it's gonna be about as epic as stepping in something slightly unpleasant". Then I watched it, and it's actually kinda awesome.

Watch final season transformations
@@ericx6969 Those are good, but this is just raw, and the feeling it conveys is different than the normal transformations. The first season was the edgier in a good way.
We came a long way. Some day this will remembered trough a hopeful S1 remake.
Before that we want XD be an Anime

I remember this as one of the hypest episode ending cliffhanger of all times
Agreed
And it’s only episode 1
Anyone else reminded of Alucard with that scary, raper smile and the glowing eyes of doom at the end?
+nexusshark "Hey kids! Wanna see a dead body!"
Come see Symphogear, A Family Show
ofc
@@giogioscominghome4331 doesn't someone get disembowed?

Man i gotta rewatch this series it was awesome the 1st time i saw it
God she's so iconic
Second season has the best transformation sequence in my opinion. :3
When? That bit where she grabs the spear and takes Gungnir on live television?
No just when she normally sings hr activation song. If you look closely at the energy around her on how it says largo, allegro, and then the close up of their new designs of their symphogear without being overly "fanservicey".

Good ol' Genjuro.
Nope final season
Welcome to Symphogear. Enjoy your stay.
You don't see machines shooting of a girl's back everyday in magical girl transformation...
For a moment there I thought she was getting a case of the Tetsuo.
Sort of. It's a transformation triggered by a song that only she knows. She has a relic that responds to it and becomes armor and a weapon. I highly recomend this anime.
Wow O.o
All that stuff coming out of her back must've hurt.
in the season 2 shes even MORE CRAZY....!!!!!
This is the most psychotic transformation sequence I've ever seen I need to watch this immediately
there is a reason for that
thanks, Ill think about it.
Painful first transformation (also one of my favorites), but it gets the point across that transforming is not just fun and games. This is probably one of my favorite scenes in the entire series.
and that's how it all started
That must've been painful
@Realist2615 I know. But I can't help but hope that this series will redeem itself.
After watching this I had nightmares
I feel symphogear is more like animized tokusatsu rather than mahou shoujo.
Modern mahou shoujo already is directly inspired by toku. Teams of color-coded magical girls only became a thing when sailor moon tried to mimic the super sentai/power ranger formula into a mahou shoujo anime format
Truth! Technically there are 3 magical girl genres, and this is definitely what I would call the next evolution of the warrior/soldier type.
@iluvicecream213 The fangs are simply part of what I personally call rage mode, though it disappeared about 5 seconds later. Though it appears again in episode 3
episode 5 she finally starts whoopin ass!
I’m reminded of Generator Rex. I’m hooked
@Realist2615 Agreed, and she kinda rages in ep. 3 though...
@Realist2615
and then EP 3 happened. and she sorta did.
well has it?
This scene kinda meshed with Dark Sky from Episode 49 of Hirogaru Sky PreCure.
WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO HER?!!!!!!!!
+Moon Leung I'D TELL YOU BUT THEN IT WOULD BE SPOILERS
I already knew, after i began to watch this anime. So you don't have to tell me anymore.
Jesus that looks painful.
@Realist2615 Sorry If all these comments are bothering you, but I forgot to add that I also thought she was going to kill everything that moves.
@123CGM123 He's right you know there is nothing magical about her, simply biological compatibility with the suit, and the suit is not magical either, it's simply hi-tech mecha armor that happens to be activated by music.
for those who are wondering there's a 4th season symphogear AXZ pronounced axis airing this year
@blood16ful Agreed, it's not magical, it's simply hi-tech mecha armor that happens to be activated by music.
Just being ancient mysterious technological technology does not exclude Tachibana from being a "Magical Girl" since that is the genre of the whole show itself, and "Magical Girl" doesn't have to be a literal term.
Now complete with Durandel Sword...
Wanna bet theres gonna be a Figma Hibiki with exchangable berserk face color?
If there isn't, someone needs to get on it immediately.
And then the cops arrived...
It's a shame they don't go anywhere with this.

Wait, what season is this? And what episode?
+Andrew Estrada end of the first episode, this is Hibiki's first transformation.
+cormeaga First season too.
first season first episode - it's when she first transforms
Andrew Estradam
@Realist2615 Oh um, by agreed, I meant I agreed with the epic transformation, though it's got to be painful, I personally don't think that ep. 2 was THAT much of a disappointment, of course, I immediately followed with ep. 3
damn the broadcast version really looked rough
eita giovana!
I like this scene.
Thankfully, episode 3 shows us that no, the RAPE FACE was NOT A LIE!!
@Hyperencrpted12345 IKR!
That is definitely her Final Smash.
@Hyperencrpted12345 Sure, it didn't last for very long, but that little girl is viscous.
well that looks painful and dangerous and nightmare inducing

Has there ever been a moment where some1 starts to kicks ass before the transformation sequence is even completed?
Yes... actually this very character does that by punching a monster that instantly carbonizes normal humans with her bare fist, and *then* transforms. Mind you the monsters in question can only *be* hit if your transformation is activated, and yet she still hit it.
Is a Magical Girl?
Is there any theme in there before Synchrogazer starts? I really love that intro while transforming
i think it's the aufwachen version of synchrogazer (a extended version of synchrogazer)
czcams.com/video/ddh-FAfBTlc/video.html
Oh trust me, she eventually does go "apeshit" as you put it. And it's friggin awesome!!! It just happens more towards the end though.
It eventually gets crazier later on
which Season is this ?
First. Episode one.
You might want to look up saikano. But it's sad as hell.
OMG, you did not just go there!
It's true though.
any idea what the ost for this scene is
It's just the opening theme.
The Allied Powers search synchrogazer aufwacen form
gekisou gungnir is the actual song
¿Cómo se llama esa temporadaaaaa???????
Es que no me sale
La primera
At least in this show it took her 1 episode to become a magical girl instead of 12.
0:10
Megaman Zx?
😂
i think this is a cool transformation of hibiki because its the gungnir goin into her blood system :\ thats why it kinda looks like rape xD
L comment
Anyone else reminded of Akira when the mech stuff comes out of her back?

Agreed, thought she was gonna wreck shop and was even scared for the little girl a bit, yet episode 2 just dropped the tension all the way down.
Se la metió y luego la saco que mal chiste
...You know it's not... really... magical... right?
