For me, the Royale is the coolest. Changed the case for an after market bead blasted stainless steel, with the black rectangle in the middle and sapphire crystal, but left the original rubber strap. Very legible, and decent ilumination. I would just add EL backlight.
On another note, wouldn't a G-Shock with this design and functionality be great. Add solar and MIP screen and it could be the best since sliced bread. 😂😂😂

If CASIO is LISTENING. I'd go into debt for a GShock version of the Royale! It would definitely replace my GBD-800 as my beater!

Definitely a couple of nice variations on this the classic AE Royale. If you want a tough, reliable watch to tell the time with some extra timing functionality then one of these is hard to beat.

It would still be the Royale for me, and I had an open mind when watching the video. I put a nice leather strap from Vario on mine and I really like the look it has.
They are all awesome! BUT the Royale is my personal favourite, I have three because they are so awesome.. steel, resin and modded👏🏻🤣

This is a very well-timed video, thank u! I have the Casio Royale in the metal version, so i don't "need" any of these.....however, the AE-1300 in on clearance for $13 at my local Walmart and I've been debating it, lol.
I've the AE1300 and WS1600. I don't travel anymore and I do need reading glasses. As much as I like the map, that humongous display won me over. I can actually see the date! Marvelous!

I picked up the 1600 half price after randomly going into a jewellers. I like its big display, and the bands up top give it a nice 80s retro feel. It’s my daily driver and has a few scratches from being a bit smacked around at work, but love it nonetheless.
Yeah, I own all three of these already also, Russ! They are all great value for money.
I have the steel strap world time, love it, picked it up on sale for £35 my second cheapest watch and getting more wrist time than all the others
I like both looks and functionality, so have both 1200 & 1300 and also 1000, 1400, 1500 and 3000 (all AEs).
My favorite of all these is the giant 3000 (which is even bigger than 1500) !
I have the Royale (AE1200) which I did some modding after purchasing a kit from SKXMOD. Beautiful watch, simple, functional and affordable :) I'm happy with this. I'm thinking about getting the AE1300 and do some modding again :).
No contest, it is definitely the Royale for me because it’s the only Casio comes with its most unique functions - a proper GMT/traveler watch, fully digital mode with small analog-ish clock and world map showing what time zone matching the map.
It can display 5 time zones without frequent cycling through the world time functions while still displaying the home time zone at the little (a tad hard to see) clock. Little fun trick when press and holding right bottom button on Home Screen to allow automatic cycling of the 4 time zones.
Best of all, upon reaching to a new place with different time zone, I just press top left and right button to instantly switch to the new time with my original home time.
Sold my metal version and keeping my Studio Underd0g vibe modded black version with different colour of each window and reverse display at time window.

One of the Casio's I own is the one in this video called the AE-1300WH its what I call an average very very usable everyday watch with a stopwatch function for referees as seen in this video very cool. It can be used for those days of averageness or when your shirt sleeve is to tight around your wrist with all the buttons done up its slim and easy on the wrist also if some ' see you next Tuesday ' types do manage to steel it well its not exactly a Rolex. ending thoughts, its a very nice watch.
I have the AE1200, obviously that’s my preferred option. The world timer seals it for me 🎉

I has casio as a kid growing up in the 70s and 80s. Got rid sadly. But then I saw the 1200 by chance in Argos for 29 quid and I had to have it. That watch started off my Casio collection again. Then the missus got wind of it and keeps buying F91s. I have 9 Casios in my new collection. So far. This doesn't include all of my other watches I have. I said I wasn't buying any more. Yeah right!
The blue strap on the 1600 is the standout for me
I've just found out there's a Royale with a green World map. That's one I'd buy. The referee timers wouldn't be for me and I suspect almost everyone who isn't a ref.
I want to become a collector at some point but all 4 of my watches are Casios :) great brand
I like all three watches but my favourite is still the AE1200. Even though I have two G Shocks, the 1200 is still my EDW travel watch.
They're like Super Squares. A bit bigger with more functionality than a G Shock Square... for less money.

I put an 18-22mm adapter, and a 22mm black leather strap with red stitching on my 1600. I tried to give it, a race car feel. It’s really all about the animation. The 1200 is KING…
Last week i bought myself Royale and have been enjoying it on my wrist🎉 but it's only been a week and the mineral glass is already scratched. Mineral glass is the only negative part of casio AE-1200

Have a Royale and love it looks wise but want the 1600 as my failing old eyes are struggling with the smaller parts of the 1200's display!

I have to shout out my favorite new Casio- the world time multiband 5 wave ceptor from Japan. It’s square , easy to read, and looks like an 80’s TV.
The Royale does all I need, well to be honest more than I 'need'. I use the stopwatch function quite a bit and the sport timer versions would drive me up the wall and back down the other side. The other two have a great style though.
I adore Casio but I have to say this time I totally agree with your wife! 😅
I prefer the smaller 158 line or gshock square. But hey they are amazing watches I just feel they are to big and look cheap for my taste. Great video!

I own the AE1200 and the WS1600. I prefer the look of the WS1600. I still love both.
I love the royale, I've got 4 of them.
The others are really nice too, but the royale has the cool Bond look-a-like vibe and when I was a teen it looked sooooo cool. And because I haven't aged a bit, it still looks cool :D
I think the Royale is my favorite watch period, not just among Casio's offerings

A while ago I had an analog Casio with a plastic (resin?) strap that failed after less than two years of wear. Are the resin straps on Casio digitals like those reviewed here more durable? I recently got an A158 specifically because it had a steel band; in order to avoid a resin band.

I searched high and low for a watch with a decent interval timer. Tried a few but none ticked the boxes for what I needed, the GBD200 was great, but for my wrist was a little uncomfortable (gutted as its a banging watch) I came across the ae1300 by chance whilst looking through argos! And it ticked the boxes and was literally the cheapest out of all I looked at 😂
I liked it so much, when I came across the red and black version, I bought it... because I'm a fan of deadpool and just... because.. right? Still haven't worn that one 😂
The Casio royale looks very cute and I have big wrist for a lady but it looks too big for me. I'm interested which one is the best step tracker Casio.
iconic watches. The world time are the most popular ones, just ordered the vintage world time with green map (AE-1200WH-1BVDF). There is an Ali store selling them at a sensible price, apparently legit (Manufacturer Direct Store). That AE-1300 is pretty cool though (just wouldn't use the timers myself).

I like the look of the referee watch simply because of the font for the number seven. At times i can't tell if it is a one or a seven on some of these Casios.
I was in New York City and bought a Casio Royal the fella in the store offered me the blue and silver AE-1000W for $12.35! How could I possibly turn that down, so now I have both, square(ish) and round- Happy Days!
Royale is one of the best and most featured watches ever made even across luxury brands. 10 year battery is the icing on the top. The fact Casio has it so reasonably priced boggles the mind. I have several and one in an SKXMOD case.

I bought 1600 for the New Year. After a couple of days the glass already had small scratches. wearing it under things in the winter and getting scratched - it’s a shame(

I have the WS1600. Let me tell u my journey: I wanted to upgrade from the F91w so i scouted for the perfect digital watch from Casio. My requirement is it have to have a reasonable legible and readable date (well, thats me) for my work. I considered the AE1200 and AE1000 due to the availability of the stainless steel strap (AE1300 has no model with it). The AE1200's date is tiny and hardly visible so i opted for the AE1000. When i got it, i was disappointed as the time digits is long and narrow and touching the plastic bar on top, so the numbers 1 and 7 is almost similar, causing me to misread the time a few times at a glance. I had considered the AE1500 due to its big numbers and i can consider its rubber straps, but it's kinda big n i have small wrists.Then last year the WS1600 came along and it is like a god sent. As soon as it is available in my country i snapped it up. I replaced the rubber strap with the stainless steel one from my AE1000 (yeah it looks weird but it works). The digits are easy to read at a glance and the number 7 has the little extra 'curve', making it easier to read (IMHO Casio should implement this on all their other models). The one thing i wish is Casio doing it away with the plastic bar inside the face (and replace it with lines on the LCD like some models) as the plastic bars actually interfere with the legibility of the time reading (eg some Gshocks) and it cast shadows on the digits itself.
I just bought a $150 mod for my $25 A168, and I was planning to get an AE1200 to do the same, but I definitely like the 1300 better. Darn OCD… Thanks as always!

@@eric2892Nothing really. It’s a stainless steel case and bracelet with a sapphire crystal. Although the new case back supposedly adds to the water resistance. It’s a complete waste of money, but I couldn’t resist…
@@adk7962 I like visual clarity in general, and sapphire doesn't get all the scratches over time, so I get that.

I personally own the AE-1200 (Royale) and I LOVE it. The WS-1600 wins me over more than the AE-1300.
I'm really not a fan of the 3 weird subdial looking things at the top and I feel the WS-1600 and the AE-1200 do the job better.
But the Royale DEFINITELY has the best backlight of the 3
Probably the Royale out of those three for me , but for a daily id probably pick one of the bright screen models , a bluetooth job, I cant remember the number I think iy had a 200 in it. maybe gbd 200 ?

I don't understand the Referee Timer's stopwatch. You can't stop it.
You can't go wrong with a casio. Even if none of these watches are your cup of tea, there are still plenty more to consider. More than you can count. I thought I had all of the casios I would ever need, but I need another one. Help me please !
In the long run, the "best" one will usually have the most simple screen and fewest features. 😅
