- Missionary pilot Stephan Saint demonstrates some of the Zenith STOL's great short rough field capabilities. The STOL aircraft is equipped with fixed leading edge wing slats, full-length flaperons, and large tail control surfaces to excel at slow flight. This video was produced by i-tec (itecusa.org), and was part of a STOL flying presentation at Oshkosh AirVenture on July 30, 2009.

Steve is an amazing pilot. Having flown a Helio many times, I can say I've seen landing rollouts in 50-75 feet. The 701 is a "poor man's Helio" and I've admired it for almost 20 years. I had the chance to fly the CH801 demo plane several times.

I've spent a little time in Porters, not as a pilot, but a passenger. This thing reminds me a lot of that plane, and the pilot that flew it could land it anywhere.

This is pretty much a stock Zenith STOL CH 701 with 100-hp Rotax 912 ULS engine and basic instrument panel, built from a kit supplied by Zenith Aircraft Co.
Maybe by the time I'm seriously looking at purchasing there will be a 6-seater....0;-)
I’ve seen a backyard fire takeoff and 22 feet and land and 20 beat that if you think you can plane with this much power as you guys have should take up much sooner but there’s only one problem you’re too heavy you must need a bigger motor have fun with this much power did your

The brag you made about even a helio can't beat that come on dude. You know The Helio weighs 10 times more and can carry 10 times more
not that great of STOL capability really.
