      Basic method of getting a quite case is good ventilation, and many high quality low noise fans running slowly. Modern PC systems with high end processors and graphics cannot survive in a case with small openings. Fan choice is extremely important and best to over spec the CPU cooler so its fan(s) can run slow. Do not skimp on the power supply as the internal power supply fan can cause excess noise if running near max output.

    Since its release, i think that the 500DX is the case I sold the most at my shop, really easy to build in, the build quality that we can expect from a big manufacturer like Be Quiet, fits almost any components, pretty good ventilation ( built a few with 5900X/5950X and 3080's with no heat problem when we add a few fans, just the right amount of RGB. And the most important for our customers, HOLY SH*T it's affordable !

    I recommended this case to a friend a few months back just because of the bequiet name, since I've got their fans and an air cooler. He really liked it, I looked up some more in-depth reviews such as at Gamers Nexus and got my own one just about a week ago to build an entirely new system (excluding SSDs and HDDs and the cpu cooler from the last one). This was my first time where I built a computer completely from scratch with my own hands, not just replacing some parts. It took an entire evening and most of the night due to my inexperience, but it turned out pretty good in the end.

    Up to and including my last build in 2019, I was completely in the camp of cheaping out on the case. Was always about the last thing I added to cart and I always tried to spend $50 or less. Seeing all these really nice cases now and seeing reviews including info on airflow, noise, etc, I'm seriously considering just buying a nice new case to transplant my build into. The internal components are great and all, but what I'm looking at all day is the case.

      I have this case, it is pretty nice and not very expensive. I like to go a little above the cheapest spec usually and smaller but this build is going to have fully populated PCIe with a 3900x so I figured a few more $$ on a decent case was worth it.

    Nice, but suffers from the same problem my Cooler Master H500 ARGB has- only a 240 radiator up top, not a 280. Maybe not a big deal with a custom water loop where you can put a 360 up front too, but with an AIO the best place is up top exhausting - and a 360 or 280 AIO up there makes more sense. You can get a 280 FAN up there, but not the radiator too... I know, the front, the front... yea blow hot air into the case... I think the best use case here is an air cooled setup... nice and compact.

    • @penedrador
      @penedrador Před 2 lety

      many tests have shown that an AiO in the Front does not really affect the temps of the other parts. so I don't see the Problem with that

    • @donkeysunited
      @donkeysunited Před 2 lety +1

      @@penedrador True. As long as the air being blown in is cooler than the air in the case, then the airflow will have a positive cooling effect. But you need to get some airflow across the GPU to push its warm air out the back of the case. If using an intake AIO on the front, I think some high pressure fans would be better.

    • @tzviasegal3003
      @tzviasegal3003 Před 2 lety +1

      I'll stick with exhausting hot air. Yea I keep hearing it doesn't matter, but my gut tells me that the cooler you keep the insides, the cooler the end result... Heck I see in summer, my rig is hotter because I can only get the room so cool when it's 108f outside... those extra degrees make a difference in the rig's temps, so I am not going to add to it if I can help it. Also trying this time around, to like the AIO enough to not go back to my custom loop, too much work, I would rather use the rig and not mess with it because it is never perfect LOL... but I just might because of the tinker-addiction. Then I would have to put my 360 up front.

    • @penedrador
      @penedrador Před 2 lety

      @@tzviasegal3003 you could exhaust with just fans and still put the AiO in front😁

I did leave the filter sitting on the top even though it's exhaust and it doesn't seem to matter airflow wise. Although with the 3 case fans for exhaust and the 3 aio fans for intake, it's got everything going for it that the top airfilter isn't going to hurt it much.
