Because I already did write that she lied and yes thats wrong, but her lie wasn't going to land someone in prison, and she told him before there were actual repercussions, like say having sex or getting pregnant.

OK, I know Georgie blew it out, but I also think Dale screwed up big time by telling him there was no problem and basically advising him to give it a shot
The advice of Dale came AFTER the first date, like Georgie and Mandie just were just kissing each other in his car.
For me Georgie's concern later about the age problem means they were'nt just kissing after the first date they do MORE.
And all this asuming Georgie has some previous experience kissing (and etc) girls.

Sarah Hyland was 22 in the 5th season in Modern Family and she looks like a high schooler. You remember the look on Mandy’s face when Georgie revealed his age; it is obvious that she never would’ve slept with him if she had known. Why should I hate someone who was lied to and didn’t know?

you know it is really difficult to guess age, this whole "your brain fully develops at 25" is a BS thing and there are lots of people in the world who mature early especially physically.
Some people look pretty old. Georgie acted very much like an adult when they first met and looked the part, too.
Looks can be deceiving. My wife is 27 yet she still gets blocked by guards thinking she was still a teenager. My brother is 18 yet people think he's older than me - and I am 25.

Why would someone write a script about an underage male knocking up a woman?? It would be an outrage if the script was flipped.
because unfortunately we don't live in a perfect world and shit like this happens. Nobody here is painted in a good light and it makes a really good plot point for a more serious story. The director handled this situation very well and the show handles it with a lot of maturity. Additionally if the script were flipped it would still be a 29 year old having sex with a 17 year old whom lied about their age, which is an important piece of information.

Did anyone see the episode where it's apparent that no one has sat Georgie down to explain sex, much less birth control?
And don't say information comes from other kids. In "Reba", the teen parents explained that they thought they couldn't get pregnant on the first intercourse. The parent was clear she explained how pregnancy happens. There was no indication her daughter learned about birth control. Both these programs take place in the South, which has traditionally obstructed and limited the amount of information in schools.
Sorry ladies. There is no Ooops pregnancy over the age of 16. It just means you aren't taking the responsibility of taking care of yourself seriously. This woman was 29....way too old to be pregnant by "accident".

@@francostevo9939 Regardless of age of the guy, if a lady is having sex without the intent of getting pregnant, SHE needs to protect herself. If she is intent on getting pregnant, then she needs to tell the guy upfront.
At age 29 without getting pregnant, she knew what to do. It's something as a responsible person, you never let your guard down. Children are too important.
Unwanted children like Georgie are reminded every single day. Georgie is constantly shown his shortcomings by the adults in his family, and his Ooops birth is referred to regularly. Georgie is a great dad because he now has the unconditional love he needs.
Mandy is an idiot, and how everyone blames Georgie is part of the Southern gestalt in thinking about women as fragile flowers that are unable to think or protect themselves. And the politics around women's reproductive health attests to that theory.
Ladies, get a grip on your lives, or someone else will.
@@francostevo9939 Sorry. It doesn't matter if the male is 17 or 70. They never had a conversation about pregnancy being OK. Mandy had unprotected sex, which means she wasn't taking care of or responsibility for herself. And she chose to shove it off on the guy instead of dealing with it herself. And in Southern culture, women are seen as delicate creatures warranting protection. And the down side to that are all the rollbacks on reproductive health care for women.
It's crazy that everyone is blaming Georgie. She's the grown up in this picture.
