They recorded it in one take. No auto tune that's what they sounded like
TRUE, but this is a mime to their recording, obviously. No cables attached to those Guitars or Mics. this is 1964. No matter, it's great to see and hear this.
Eric Burdon has a lot of soul in his voice.
Now you've done it. Time to go down the classic rock rabbit hole.
American Black Blues that crossed the Atlantic and came back as the British Invasion of the 1960s. The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Animals, The Kinks, The Dave Clark Five and many others did the same. Can you hear the gospel in the organ sound?
This is one of my all time favourite songs. Thanks for the reaction .
One of my mom's fav songs
MY FAVOURITE RECORDING OF IT
It's really gratifying to watch a person listing to a song that I love to have such a positive experience. I'm 75 years old and did not listen to much music when I was young. But this song ALWAYS hit me hard whenever I happened to hear it. Thanks for making me happy.
That guitar player at the end grinning like a fool always makes me lol 😂
Eric Burdon on vocals-Alan Price on the Vox organ
I really enjoy your authentic reactions to songs you’ve never listened to before . As a viewer it’s fun to relive the first time hearing a favorite song through someone else’s ears. Thank you
You bought that?
My feeling exactly!
His voice is haunting in this song
Baby Noomer here! This was one of my very first 45's! Growing up in the 1960'/70's was wonderful! 🥰🤗
The reason the guitarist was smiling is they recorded this in 20 mins and knew they had cracked it in this time this was done the year I was born and my favourite song of all time
Yes they recorded it in one take. 1964.
@@oldrvrI think he's saying about the video.
The song was done in one take. I'm not sure how long the filming took! It was part of a sixties pop movie, the name escapes me now. They are miming here, and the guitars are not plugged in to amps.
They did this in one take.
Erics voice is amazing
Eric sounding like he was a Delta Bluesman of the past when he was in his early 20’s. It is so rare for a perfect song to be made, but it was made here.
To look at him I wouldn’t have expected him to have that range
When they recorded this song they did it in one take
Probably took less time to record than this reaction video.
Glad you reacted to this! The first time this song was ever recorded (if I recall correctly) was Lead Belly (Huddie Ledbetter) in the late 40s, but before that it was a classic American Folk song. A lot of what Lead Belly did involved reimagining and recording folk and blues songs and cementing them into physically recorded history, and he had a huge impact on a vast majority of rock and blues musicians (and still does, to some degree).
Another example of a great Lead Belly cover is during Nirvana’s “Unplugged” concert when they played “Where Did You Sleep Last Night”-which happens to be a personal favorite of mine-but really it’s hard to go wrong with any song of his haha
Sorry for the rambling! Just wanted to share my appreciation that songs like these are still maintaining relevance through younger and younger people (don’t get me wrong, I’m only a millennial, but grew up on the classics). Love the reactions and keep it up(: God bless from Texas!
Lead Belly wasn't first but did record it way before The Animals. Glad you mentioned him though, he also did Black Betty way before Ram Jam (which Cam did like a week ago) and inspired Cobain's rendition of In the Pines from MTV Unplugged (he reacted to a Nirvana song today). So you don't have to look far at all to see his legacy has left a permanent mark on music, as you said.
The melody was actually an old English folk song.
Don't forget Tom Clarence Ashley recorded it also back in 1937
@@tonyporenshenko425 and don't forget it was based on an old English folk song. They didn't have the recording tech back then though.
@@mrdarren1045 exactly
I hate to be "that person" but I know The drummer irl and he's still playing in concerts!!! Hes so happy the people are still listening to their music
They did some great music!
One of my FAVOURITE videos! Yes Brother!
Your facial expressions are priceless 😆😆
Love the animals
As great as this song is, even better they recorded it in ONE take. They didn't have the time or money for a bunch of studio time, so they arrived at the studio and punched this one out in one take. AMAZING.
Beautiful voice wow
It sort of sounded like this reactor complimented every member of the Animals EXCEPT Eric Burdon. Has that ever happened in the entire history of any person on Earth hearing this song for the first (or thousandth) time?
Eric Burden was sent to live with his gran @ get the fire going. He was late one morning & she never spoke to him again.
The animals are amazing, To those of you who watch us and try and say he's limp sinking, he's not. They were only allowed. I think it was. Oh, there was one time they had to come in. And they had time just to get to the recording studio. Get back and get back where they were, and that was it. So when these guys did it, it was one take. Because the film and then you gotta realize. Also if the film's been cut wrong, then it's not gonna match up either so because they have to add the volume to the film and they do that wrong and that's up, but this guy had a horrific horrific childhood. So any of you who cast a first Stone because the animals they were, and they didn't excellent job, they chose the words out of the book, this is an old folk song. So they only chose so much of the folk song they're wicked. They're awesome. Thank you for playing them. Watch willie nelson and dolly parton of wrote and andy gibb are the top three songwriters there ever was
Nevermind me Im just here for the rock and classic rock ride. lol
😂😂😂😂 LOVE YOUR REACTION !!! You are the BEST Reactor !! Love it !! What a great song too !❤
Eric Burdon❤
Music 🎶 🎵 over everything
You're a complete joy. SO glad I found you.
House of the rising sun was a place where people could sleep, and get work , it cost $5 a night for a bunk , they wouldn't allow alcohol on the property, the temporary labor company would call their all hours of the night looking for workers. In tampa they had a house similar but the rent was $3.50 per night, it was called the porter hostel, both the places were nothing more than slave labor houses, you got paid $3.35 per hour (thank you Regan) by the temp service. The temp service was paid approximately $20 per hour for your labor. 😢
The guy's name is Eric Burden, dude. Can you imagine that he was projecting his voice over FOUR other instruments, man. The vocalist was KICKIN' it. Powerful voice and great band. Get down, cowboy.
Beautiful reaction...thank you ❤️
hilton Valentine nbests nmartes with my uncle Peter and lived a few door up from him. so may things i could tell you about him . lovely bloke xx
It's a reallllll old tune. 1500s. That HOUSE could be a whore house, or a penitentiary. No one knows for sure. THIS version might even refer to Angola, i.e Lousianna State Pen, near New Orleans.
Same here
This was live...
enjoy your journey..if you're up to it 😜😜
This is how the law used to be. So the song meant more. Back when the law was enforced.
got guitar lessons because of bhis mates who clubbed together xx
May u like "-Metalhealth" from " Quiet Riot"

React to, “California Dreamin’,” by The Mamas and the Papas.
House of the rising sun, basically a casino / brothel
🤍
Why is your video in flip mode.
How much did she earn there, this song, $400 million?
You didn't finish the damn song!
Dude stop, seriously. Obviously fake. No way NO ONE in America has not heard the house of the rising sun. It's in like, every movie
I’ve never heard of this group! I never heard this song! Never ever!! Which means he has !

A good version of this song newer version Five Finger Death Punch, House of the Rising Sun it will do this song better justice.
I like his version very much to. So much power 👍
Vietnam baby ...soldiers listen to dis song ,smoke weed and shoot their gun
Bobby Vinton - Sealed With A Kiss ...REACT TO DIS
The house of the rising sun is a big jail, I belive for what the lyrics says ball in chain, like prisoners have.
It a hostel/ work house for temporary laborers.
@@DavidHConnary makes sense
@@josediaz8032 it's Christian run, no drinking on the property , stayed their in the 80's seen a flyer on the board at the temp service (aka slave labor house), $5 per night, I made $3.35 an hour, Regan had froze minimum wage at $3.35 per hour 1980 - 1990 cost of living kept going up but not temporary labor wages. Years later I live in a house that's paid for but have $150.000 mortgage. But life goes on. ✌️
I agree keyboards are the best I've ever heard. Dude is a beast.
