When it's clear that we are at 4 & 8 in this draft,
I hope Spur to make it happen:
Magic get: Malaki + Graham + Hornet's pick
    Wizard get: Zach + No.8 pick + Bull's pick + 2024 Magic's 2rd pick
    Spur get: Isaac + Avdija
    For Magic,
Every team knows they are a ticking time bomb.
    They have too many bigmen,
and too many rookies to extend contracts in few years.
    Including Franz.W & Banchero's Max.
Graham is good for their cap space.
Also, we can help them with Hornet's pick for future talents, and Malaki for backup SG who can create his own shoot.
That's what they lack in playoff this year.
    For Wizard,
They are looking for another top 10 picks,
no.8 pick seems a good addition.
If they land Topic at 2, and get Clingan at 8,
the starters line could be like this next year:
    Clingan/Zach
    Kuz/MB3
    Bilal
    Pool
    Topic
    And still have 2024 1rd no.26 pick + Magic's 2rd pick.
They may back to top 5 seeds again in 2025's draft board,
Bull's pick will help them getting more advantages.
    For Spur,
This season Wemby is often defending two or more guys at same time, he needs some help.
Isaac can defend 1 to 5,
Avdija has solid defense + sneaky-good ISO + a little bit playmaking.
we will play swishing defense on front court sooooo well.
Plus, we can also avoid Wemby losing stamina quickly.
    If we go lucky,
we may have the starters line like this:
    Wemby
    Isaac/ Sochan/mamu
    Avdija/ KJ/Sidy
    Vassell
    Tre
Plus our own 2024 1st pick to backup
Even if we finally go for another PG with Hawk's picks,
this kind of defensive starters line will make it more acceptable.

      Ja'Kobe also got a nice attributes for a PG/SG.
Not the most complete player of course, but way better 3P potential than Castle (34% in NCAA).
Standing almost 6'5 with a 6'10 wingspan, while not as good as Castle defensively, but def has the tools for it.
Plus he has a way higher
      scoring potential IMO.

@@Leo-nc3yx I know you value athleticism over anything, so let me tell you a little about *Devin Carter* (6'2.25" without shoes, but 6'8"75 wingspan) he was the best at the combine with a vertical leap of 42" (Tie) among the best in all agility drill, and a NBA draft combine record (all-time) of 2.87 seconds for the three-quarter sprint.
Added to his insane athleticism he had this season a 37.7% from 3P on nice volume (2.5/6.8), 47.3% FG and he's known for his hustle and good D.
He's a little old (22 years) but I'd not be mad if Spurs draft him... He looks NBA ready, Wemby would love that.
Atm his main issue are his turnover/assist ratio (like Blake Wesley last year) but (contrary to Blake) he can shoot very well.

    • @Leo-nc3yx
      @Leo-nc3yx Před 19 dny

@@aspleen1102 I never "Value athleticism over anything", that's an overstatement.
I simply don't like prospects being drafted high without the combination of "Decent physical attributes"
and "Good athleticism". Actually, I value physical attributes(Height, wingspan, standing reach...etc)
more than BBIQ and athleticism. If you have an average BBIQ and above-average athleticism, combined
with great physical attributes, it's more than likely that you could work out in the league no matter what.
Not saying BBIQ is unimportant, but physical attributes are the easiest way to value the upsides.
You can have all the BBIQ in the world, but if you're just 6'1 with a 6'1 wingspan, you would more than likely
become a bench player... Just imagine Jokic being 6'1...
Of course, there were some great short guards in history, but they either had insane athleticism(Speed like Rose,
explosiveness like Ja or Westbrook, insane shooting like Steph Curry, crazy handles, and 1 on 1 skill like Iverson and KI, or way longer wingspan than their actual height) However, there's no one in this draft with that kind of upside to cover up their disadvantage in size.

    #4 Zach Edey
#8 Stephon Castle (size, athleticism, shooting, & defense!) or Topic (size, passing, and pace)
And/or should pick up Dalano Banton (size, athleticism, shooting, & defense!) as backup pg and we'd be great because of how much promise he showed with petals Portland this season.
Also, should trade Keldon for a 3&D guy like Herb Jones, Trey Murphy, DeAndre Hunter. Or even to get Dejonte Murray back!!!
Think about these lineups (with shoes on)...
    5 - Zach Edey 7'5
    4 - Wembyama 7'6
    3 - Keldon Johnson 6'6 / Herb Jones 6'9
    2 - Devin Vassel 6'7
    1- Stephon Castle 6'7 / Nikola Topic 6'6 / Dejonte Murray 6'7

How do we feel about San Antonio drafting Topic at 8 and then redshirting him the way OKC did with Chet in his real rookie season? It would let Topic recover on a generous timeline and fully prepare himself for the NBA, while the Spurs go another season without a lead point guard, and thus position themselves for a better draft pick in the stacked 2025 class... I know this approach may not be popular or conventional, but I think it's worth entertaining.

He’s a baller on both ends. You can still have the 4th to get Castle. That is if Buzelis is gone by the time 8 rolls around.
Update: Give the Hawks their pick back for 2025 to snag Sarr. Telling you now with what has happened in the lottery we are not getting Cooper on our own via the hawks pick. Lightning won’t strike twice back to back for the hawks. Accept the fact he ain’t coming to us.

Guys that tall with with that body type are destined to be career back up centers. You can find those on the open market. All that stuff he did in college was against players who, let's be honest, play on great college programs that only have a few players who can barely make the G League, much less the NBA. I don't think Zacc is the best wing in the draft, im not even sure hes the 3rd best, he started on fire but the second teams began running him off the line and forcing him to create or drive in any meaningful way be became almost unplayable, he ended the season with horrendous shooting splits the last few months and showed very little self creation, connective passing or secondary skills at all.
I'd take Holland as the best wing in the class comfortably he has 2-3 advantages over every other wing, then Buzelis and then Risacher/Williams etc in that 3rd tier, Risacher does 1 thing very well but the second he had that taken away he fell off massively, guys like Holland and Buzelis showed promise and growth in multiple areas as the year went on and in much bigger and more demanding roles than they didn't expect or weren't probably ready for and much more difficult than anything Risacher had.

You are over thinking this. 1) There will be a player at the 4th pick who should be able to start next season and be an upgrade. There is no need to trade up, particularly for this draft. My best guess is either Zach of Buzelis. 2) There will be a number of point guards available at the 8th pick. I would favor a larger point guard who can play defense. Who you get in the draft dictates what you look for in a trade. With Wemby, Sochan and Buzelis, you are looking for a veteran point who can facilitate and score. If Zach is in the mix, maybe a point who can distribute and defend. The other option, as I have said before is package the 8th pick as part of a trade to get a younger veteran point.
Those are the options as I see it. Zach, IMHO, is not a must have at 4. Neither is any point in this draft at 8. There are lots of options. There will be lot of mock drafts between now and selection day and the only thing there will be good for is keeping your head spinning. Time to just sit back and see how things play out. Barring the selection of a bust with the 4th pick, SA will likely be fine.

@@TSRSports50 I really don’t mean to pick on you; I like your picks at 4 (less so at 8 due to Dillingham’s size and defensive questions). The best thing a mock draft an do is tell you who the top players who will likely go high in the draft. Prior to the lottery selections, that is all you get. People trying to project picks without knowing the order in which teams are picking is a joke. That is particularly true of this draft where teams are likely to draft for need. Outside of Starr, how you rank players in terms of best player available is not especially clear.
Even now, there are a ton of variables. Who gets hurt between now and draft day? Who does well or poorly in the combine? Which teams trade up or down? How do the teams actually drafting see the players? Who is high on their boards??? Despite all this, we will have mock drafts ad nauseum between now and draft day. And none of them are likely to be much more informative than the mock drafts done immediately after the lottery selections. Short of some concrete news that really impacts selection 1-8, I’m not wasting my time on mock drafts.
