- Hello Shiny Crafty People and welcome back to the channel!
I've been wanting to make more things from the pre-made quilt I picked up on Amazon (for less than $30 - sadly it's sold out) and I also really wanted to try my hand at making a hanging garment bag.
Still, doing another zippered project so close to the other two zippered projects I just did - check out • Easy Gift - Sew Pretty... and • Easy Square Pouch with... - seemed like a bad idea.
So while I will tackle that soon, check out this fun video of a simple gift you can make for someone in your life or something you might want in your own house!
And until next time, stay crafty!

Yes, would you please consider showing how to make one with a pocket & zipper? It would make a super cute hanger cover for protecting personal items like a ring or passport. Thank you Tim!
Your video was fun to watch. 😊
Are you reading my future video idea list? Lol
I plan to make one with a larger pocket to hold stuff like that. Great minds think alike!!
@@timothytotten9409 Hi Tim, thanks for the personal reply. You were up early! No, I haven't found your future video list yet. I'll look for it. Sounds fun.
On a similar note...I've made several infinity scarves. It's such a fun & rewarding project. All but one were minkee fabric which is hard to find where I live, but one with flannel which gives a unique feel & look. I've asked 2 different quilt stores if they'd offer a class on infinity scarves with how to put in a secret pocket with a zipper. No response. I think they'd have a lot of interest if smaller projects were sometimes offered. Would you be interested in possibly doing a video about that as well? Just an idea. Thanks.
These are great gifts! I add buttons on either side at the point where the hanger has a prong for straps. Buttons can be stacked to ensure a secure place for straps, which helps prevent clothing from falling off. Also the buttons are a good place to put the ribbons in clothing that help to keep clothing in place on the hanger. To make it fancy, I sometimes make fabric covered buttons to match. A stash of mis-matched plastic buttons can be stacked and covered with fabric to be used in this way.
Great ideas!!
Adorable. You are the greatest when it comes to these wonderful easy items you make. Thanks for this video. Margy
What a lovely compliment! Thank you so much.
Great job 👏 😅
Love it Tim. What would make it even better is to put a zipper at the bottom so you can hide something in it like money,
That’s an interesting idea! I also like being able to stash stuff you need for that outfit, like a tie or special socks or suspenders.
What a great idea!
Really great idea 👏
Love the cheesy pun!
Love this idea. You are so funny. Love your sense of humor❤
That’s a lovely compliment! Thank you.
Love your prcess ❤
You sure are getting your moneys worth out of the bedspread!!
I was raised to be frugal. Lol
What does it mean when you say you are sewing with needle in the down position? I am confused about that statement!
Great question! Some machines have a feature that lets you stop the needle either in the up or down position when you let off the pedal. But not everyone has a machine with the capability, so I should probably explain each time.
It allows you to make sure both pieces of fabric are aligned & not move when checking. Also you can pivot the fabric with the needle down position & then it doesn't pull on the stitching. 😊
