  • Qur’an is such an important aspect of each and every Muslim’s life. How much of it should one be reading every day? How much is enough?
Originally, the Qur'an was split into seven manazil, so the companions would finish it in seven days. Most recently, the Qur'an was split into 30 juz, which means that it would be ideal for one to read and consume a juz a day. What this means is that one should begin to listen to the Qur'an, watch lectures about it, write and read one juz a day.

+Sauce Goated. Possible. My Quran is from Darussalam publishing and has 550 pages. I've been reading it since a few months ago and I complete it every 2 weeks on Friday. Of course it has 30 juz and I read 30 minutes of it each after each 5 prayer daily. So, I manage to khatam Quran every 2 weeks, inshalah.

Hoopoe WHAAAAAT?! bro there is 604 pages first of all, and if u do read after every salat and do 20 pages a day than you will finish it in a Month not 2 weeks bro. UNLESS if u do 40 pages a Day which is 2 juz a day than you’ll finish in 2 weeks

Sauce. That's what I thought. At first I thought I will finish reading the Quran in a month doing Ustad Wisam's suggestion. However, I was surprised when I finish it every two weeks. It depends on the publisher, mine has 550 pages so I complete it in 2 weeks reading it 2.5 hour daily.

Sheikh Nuh Ha Mim Keller supposes one Juz’ daily being appropriate for Arabs and the half of it, it means one Hizb or about 10 pages for non-Arabs. As for me, I found, that more than one quarter of a Juz’, i. e. about 5 pages, would be too much, as I am not reading like people commonly do. I first listen to the recording of one page and then I myself read it, and as I read in some of the readings (qirâ’ât) other than Hafs ´an ´Âsim, I look for special difficulties there, because I have to repeat the rules of those readings, and furthermore, I look up the meaning some difficult vocabulary occurring in the text. All this of course takes nearly the same time as to read a complete Juz’ without all these additional things.

Jazak Allah khayr. I have a question about "consuming" the Qur'an (don't quite understand). Does it mean I can split up "consuming" the juz' by, for example, reading 5 pages, listen to a lecture about one of the surahs in the juz' and interacting with another part of the juz' in another (but similar way) and then it would count as consuming (rather than reading) the qur'an?

Yes, you can! Start with your comfort level and then keep pushing it to increase it further till it is one juzz a day inshaAllah

So by reading one juzz a day we are chopping Qur'an into pieces ain't we ?what is the methodology to recite the Qur'an in a proper manner? I suggest you to please search a video titled "the Qur'an and the moon methodology for recitation of the Qur'an" in the video he has discussed how much Qur'an we suppose to recite on a day to day basis without chopping the Qur'an into bits and pieces
