I gotta admit, this is the best acting I've seen in Eastenders.
MegaSnippezz are you on drugs this is youth club Christmas nativity acting at best I bet de Niro is shitting himself
What a comment
I'd say that's a fairly accurate performance of a man who's got "nothing left!". It's just the context that's a bit iffy. I doubt many people would invite round the local bruiser who's already flushed their head down the toilet three times, amongst other things, to comfort them in their darkest hour.
thats not acting thats raw emotion
Norman Stansfield you are awesome
Phil Mitchell.. crying and comforting? Never thought I'd see the day
Especially to ian lol
This moment was epic. The emotion the feeling all the dislike for each other evaporated as they shared the grief in this one moment. Superb acting. Very touching
Superb acting??? Are you sure about that? Steve mcfadddn yes but Ian Bill...NO LOL😅
@@dontlikeyou16Ian Bill?
And in that instant, Phil Mitchel shows he has a heart.
Amazing acting by both
Phil Mitchell has always been so macho, he's always the toughest guy, but, it's a good he has a heart
@@guypeate3628Phil Mitchell is half as tough as his brother Grant Mitchell
The way Ian jumped whilst he was in Phil arms hahahaha looool
At 0:16 Woooooo Hoooo looool
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 thats all i came here for. Not some sentimental shite.
😠😡how is that funny
Not funny
It also wasn't funny when Freddie Mercury lost his shoe! 👟
if a lost a child you would cry hysterically like ian did
I feel sorry for him
BlueStormMagic Too bad it ain't fucking real then...
SeaNaliCous96
Wheres your evidence for that idiot? why would they fake something like this?? its a perespective into reality lives, Phil is a genuine good guy in my opinion i'd love to meet him one day. people like you bring the tone down on each of these videos so just fuck off!!
i think what tony meant is that the story lines are real and do happen in real life not that the soaps characters are real x
Tony Jones What, so sobbing behind a TV is "sorting" the problems out? Fucking moron, why dont you actually turn off the TV and worry about your own family and their current affairs, instead of being soaked up in this shit hose waste-of-time programme that is boring as FUCK, like Emmerdale, Eastenders, CS you name it.
I wonder how many times phil laughed before doing it lol
So many outtakes!
Maybe none because they are in real life serious actors
@@yuenkentsang9446 they're soap actors mate, calm down

This worked because here these two guys aren't connected as enemies, but as fathers.
Have not seen Eastenders for over three years but to see phill comfort Ian like he did was very humbling and sobering, what a class sketch.
It's good that they can put aside differences at this point in time
I haven't seen it in more than 3 years. Are Phil and Ian on good terms now? Someone fill me in.....
JishJashJosh123 ians daughter lucy was murdered and at this point he was utterly devastated, phil and sharon went round to see him and ian broke bown and phil actually hugged him-that's it in a nutshell so far lol the damn story is dragging on til february next year!
Gemma Westover
Any parent would be hysterical after losing a child.. i actually think this scene is as real as it could get. Great acting.
00:04 When you've spent all your months wages on a night out.
Onmysheet
Luke colder Sheffield Love from xxxx ☺☺☺
..... and a year later you still haven't got back on track and are still in debt from that night...... And you didnt even pull that night :(
Or in 2022, when you’ve payed this month’s bills and gone to fill the car up with petrol ONCE.
Honestly Adam is truly an amazing actor! This scene is so heart breaking and real I felt every emotion from him. Has he and any of the others involved win any awards for this storyline so far?
Not that I’m aware of but I totally agree, they absolutely deserve an award for this among many other scenes.
The England team after losing against Iceland!😭😭😂😂
omg😂😂 i know this is a sad video but i cant help laughing at your comment
Brilliant
Wait......they lost to Iceland at soccer?
When they lost the semifinal on 2018 and now the euro final
@Supremeh Huh?
That sentence doesn't make sense.
Adam is a brilliant actor and seeing Phil cry with him was heart breaking.
you mean that he is good comedian because its one of the most funniest scenes i have seen on tv recently. He is so funny when sobbing. But i doubt he was going ofor laughs
Ikori Tispapadias omg ikr! I crack up evry time and my family gives me the evils
Freya Taylor You're pretence is as amazing as Ian Beal's maybe acting is your forte
***** Then his performance during the full live episode proved how magnificent he is of an actor. IMO Adam Woodyatt deserves a lifetime achievement award.
Sarah Lou I THINK he already got one in 2010 the video is kicking around on here somewhere
Wow Phil tearing up for Ian Beale! Never ever thought i'd ever see that! Phil usually put Ian's head down the toilet.
How can people say this is bad acting? its some of the best acting I've ever seen. If you lost your kid you would be the same as Ian. This is a fantastic performance.
No....its terrible acting.your getting it twisted with the emotion itself.we all know it would hurt like hell...but the acting from Ian Bill us utterly atrocious
@@dontlikeyou16naa each person reacts differently. I think Ian Beale got it spot on for who he is. It was really good acting imo
@ranjha4008 we will agree to disagree on that then my friend. Be safe be lucky I wish you well bro
I mean really, what can we expect from these two? Two top class talent. Steve McFadden makes me and my Mum cry everytime he does a scene involving his alcoholism. So raw and realistic. Adam is class all himself having dedicated his life since childhood to the soap and when Ian cries, Ian cries. Gets us all.
As much as this scene is memed on, it really shows how ugly grief can be. Honestly pretty well done
People saying this is bad acting don’t know what they’re talking about. In moments of true sorrow, people cry and sob like children, no matter how old they are. And very few people experience such grief excluding a parent losing their child.
I love this scene so much. Phil not only being there, getting Ian to let it out, holding him and caring and crying for Ian's loss, all their hateful history gone in this one scene.
Beautifully acted and so great to see them come together after despising each other.
Phil defending Ian in the Vic too, being there for him when he found out Max slept with Lucy and telling Max he wasn't wanted on the square.
Phil has gone back to being the guy I loved from the start of joining EastEnders. Actually caring for people, being there and defending people, softening towards those you never would have thought he would ever do that for.
I get choked up everytime I see this. I've always loved Phil. Long may he go on as Phil is amazing and Steve McFadden is simply, an incredible actor and plays Phil so damn well! He should have won more awards just like Adam. ESPECIALLY in the scenes with Babs last episodes.
Long live the King of Albert Square 😊😍
This acting is very powerful. To lose someone is not easy. Ian played this so realistically.
Phil's face had me in stitches loool
Hahaha i am crying with LAUGHTER at this 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
"I got nothing left." Comedy gold. I wonder how hard it was for Steve McFadden not to crack up laughing? Anyone seen the remix to this?
If you look closly , he's stopping himself lol
Seems you’ve never lost anyone dear to you. Proper acting this is,
Phil holding back trying not to laugh lol
I know, he is so close to an outburst if laughter
After all they’ve been through together it really was touching to see Phil comforting Ian and feeling his pain
Cause somewhere deep in my heart, I still love you!
First reply after 4 years
2nd after 5
Mwahhhhhh
Ngaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!
UKSKIDS I’m screeching I actually forgot I wrote this comment 🤣
This is me when i run out of nutella... The struggle is real....
This is me, when I'm doing a shit, and there's no bog roll left.
As a dad I felt this 😢
My depression just disappeared...this was so funny...lmfao
I just followed through watching this 🤣🤣🤣🤣
How I laughed so hard 🤣🤣
I found it funny the way ian cries 😄😄😄
I'm sorry But I could not stop laughing omg that was hilarious
Hamsterifica the way phil just sat their 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Best scene with two best actors in EastEnders
Every 4-year-old, when they miss an episode of Thomas the Tank Engine! 😂
I recently lost my mom and Nan in the space of a week…..my mom was only 61 and lived with my Nan for many years. This acting was amazing this is exactly how I felt and still do. Grief is pure heartbreak that doesn’t end….fantastic acting
So sorry for your losses
So Phil does have a heart after all, he's really softened over the years, and seeing him cry when Ian cries is very humbling and nice that Phil can put aside his dislike fir Ian and be comforting to him when he needs it most.
HE IS ONE GOOD ACTOR
This quality of writing over such a monolithic longevity is why Eastenders is the best soap in the world. Master class
Some people think this is hilarious, I don't it shows that Phil Mitchell has a soft spot at time which I think is really sweet that this side came out to comforting Ian.
After all that Phil asks "you alright?" Hahahahaha
0:16 AAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA
I get why people find this scene funny (it is Ian Beale after all) but for people who have closely experienced grief, this is a deeply sombering scene. There’s a type of emotional breakdown that’s pretty much exclusively reserved for bereavement; it’s uncomfortable, it’s ugly, and most of all, truly heartbreaking. Adam Woodyatt’s performance here isn’t elegant, but it’s real, and accurate. Some people might watch soaps as an escape from their daily lives, but it also holds up a mirror to our lives, and our darkest moments, and reminds us that our problems (and our ways of dealing with them) are more universal than we might otherwise think. I thank that’s exemplified nicely in this scene.
So true
I have a feeling that the guy playing Phil wasn't supposed to cry but he couldn't help it because it was such an emotional scene
Thats true it wasn't planned! His emotions just got the better of him apparently Adam (ian) didn't even no he was crying till they cut the scene
It's a sign of a great actor to be so good at your art to have the effect on the other actor to be able to play off you like that. For Steve's reaction to be feasible, Adam's performance had to be as powerful as it could be- and it was.
I think he couldn’t help it cause it was too funny🤣
@@keaunos5263 facts 😂😂😂
That's probably the nicest I've ever seen Phill ever
0:16 - LMFAO.
I thought he was having a heart attack LOL
🤣🤣🤣
LOL
No joke this is the funniest scene I've ever seen on eastenders 💀 🤣
The great thing about London is you can always turn to your neighbours for comfort when you're feeling low.
What the hell was the director thinking? 🤣🤣 I’d have yelled “CUT!! You wanna dial it down a level or 26, mate? Let’s go again eh?”

Ha ha yes. When you realise the chippy is closed and that you were once married to Cindy.
This is a meme now 😂
0:09 someone bought him a Twilight Boxset for Easter
Omg I have to admit. Got me in blinking tears
This so so sad, and his acting is so wonderful leading up to this point and through it.
Top BBC comedy!
(lip smack) what ashame, he was a good man
Brilliant acting from Adam Woodyatt very convincing with the crying
When will these fools realise the square is cursed!?
The square, Manchester, Birmingham anywhere people die every day every minute no such thing as curse everything happens for a reason and at a time 10 people can die there doesn’t mean they will live forever somewhere else
This is what i'm like when i've spent all my money and i'm broke.
This was brilliant acting I was crying to at the time and nearly am now
Two great actors and a powerful seen
Amazing acting, incredible scene
has nobody noticed how close Phil is to cracking up with laughter!? XD
I did 💀😂
Phil is a good man now in 2015 shows that he has a heart. back in the 1990s he was always drink and out of his head. now he's back to show people that he's always there when people need him. I hope Phil keeps up the good work that he's doing right now. I hope he gets even better in 2016👍
It's interesting the dynamic these two have as I'm used to the enmity between the two of them, so a situation like this changes the dynamic.
I love when phil say good man really sweet
This made me cry . Adam is a fantastic actor
I watched this live. It really touched me. Amazing acting
You are a homosexual.
After feuding for years. Phil Mitchell does have a heart
what outstanding acting. adam deserves this big storyline especially as it will mark 30 years for adam in the show next february. well done to all the whole cast as well.
This is probably the worst acting ever
Two legends xx
moral: if you ever lose someone, others will always be there to love and protect you.
Lol haven't watched Eastenders in 2 years but I kept seeing the Ian Beale memes so I looked it up to find out what it's about and reading the storyline I was pretty sad but this video had me in fits. Hahahaha
THIS IS THE FUNNIEST THING I HAVE EVER SEEN
Adam is one of the best actors I have ever seen, props to him.
brilliant acting from Adam Woodyatt, he deserves a soap award this year!!
Despite the hatred, their always seem to be that rivalry respect between the two.
This is the best eastenders scene ever
that iconic scene will turn 10 next year:)
Incredible acting from Adam Woodyatt here! Hope he gets an award for this.
I remember first watching this on TV years ago, such a sad scene that even Phil who normally cant stand Ian, has to comfort him as he breaks down. Great acting by Adam (Ian)
In context I’m crying and applauding the acting. Out of context we can all have fun with this one 😭😂
I still remember that scene like it was yesterday, devastating acting
this gets me laughing everytime, lmao
25 seconds in you can see Phil trying not to laugh 😂😂😂
Watch the drum and bass version, absolute banger.
2 of the best actors ever here
Adam’s powerful acting in this scene was the best I’ve even seen.
Lol Phil. “.....y’alright?”
This is an accurate reaction. Great acting
When Suarez only got a 4 month ban
Hahahaha
This was a nice moment. Phil does have a soft side’
Both superb actors
Ian...voice goes unattractively high and squeaky when distressed....loving it ;-)
Ahahahahahhaha
Shut up dude its not funny
For fuck sake guys it a fucking tv show. Stop taking it so seriously. I wasn't laughing at the fact he was in despair, just at 0:16 when he was in his lap jumping; i found quite funny. Dont take it the wrong way.
Owen St john it was fucking funny
Ben Willetts I was talking to Owen St John.
Owen St john It's made to look like it's real so it grips up. It's supposed to make us feel for them, not laugh cause it can happen in real- would you be laughing then? No, I don't think so.
Them 2 hate each other but this is a beautiful emotional scene
0:07 when there's no money left in my wallet
great acting
when the exam question asks for 4 answers and you only give 2
I wonder if the actors ever disassociate when doing their role and get carried away haha 😄😆
