So far as the interest is concerned, people should only go forward if he or she feels that a particular field is appropriate for you according to your capability..... But if you ask my opinion, I would say one who studies international relations has to go through political science..... Well both international relations and political science would be better to choose as a field of career... International relations talks about a country's foreign policy and diplomacy or diplomatic relationship, while political science talks about a system or framework of government, law and order etc.
