was I the only one who saw the toilet and thought, at first, that this was going to be some kind of underground bunker?
yeeeeeah i have been had also
me too
I immediately thought that too1 Great minds!
i had the same thoughts to
Me too!
Damn, can you imagine the work of hauling all the building supplies back there? Looks pretty well built to me, and that's a good spot with the river right there. That's determination.
that flat tire was a warning bro, that was not abandoned..... be careful out there.
Badass. Dude heard you coming, and bugged out to his bugout bugout cabin.
+MOL LOL! It's always good to have a backup to your bugout plan.
cascorgi m
Once you bugout from your bugout bugout bugout cabin, at some point you're really bugging back in.
That was good
Ive found and built cabins similar to this one. Sometimes people take it upon themselves to build "camper/hiker cabins for anybody to use. I built one on our land which borders fed land just so anyone caught out there could take shelter. But thanks for sharing this video. I enjoy watching other people find stuff while I'm stuck here at work.
Shadowrider63043 You are a thoughtful person...kind of like those people who plant shade trees to shelter others.
Nope. Just somebody who used to backpack and hike a lot when younger. Been caught out in the elements more than once.
You know when you're from the city when you lock your jeep out in the middle of nowhere.
While he was checking the crack shack out...the residents were checking on his tire pressure...
😁
"Hope I'm not scratching my Jeep to much" Said no Jeep owner ever LOL
You should have looked at the expiration date on those Oatmeal Cookies on that bed to see roughly how old that place really is.
I thought the same thing, and there was also a Winston container that looked fairly new.
...If You Can Get There In A Jeep...
..You have Not bugged out near far enough...
Nothing in that cabin looked 20 years old.
so... first thing i noticed is that is a very very well used trail you are walking on, LIKE super worn. Meaning someone is travelling that quite often if No plants at all are even sprounting on it. I know for sure that is not an animal trail, so NOONE KNOWS about this place is obviously WRONG, Second, thing, 20 yrs? thats total bs. more like two or three years tops. Wondering if this is someones private property you are tresspassing on or is this Public land in a national forest? That wasnt a bug out cabin at all, way to exposed for that to be the case. This was some squatter cabin or hunting shack at one point. Also if noone knows about this place who gave you directions to get there? Just saying, lets be realistic here..
Yeah, nobody knows , but the old guy in town told him where to go?!!? WTF ??? I betcha nobody fucked with him/personally cause they saw him put on his piece! It was kinda stupid, like he did it for everyone to see, even us out here in tubeland!
Illegal or not, finding a cabin like that in bad weather can save your life. When I was younger and used to hike more I'd leave something behind like a can of peas or some dry tinder, or matches or a lighter if I found a small cabin or survival shelter.. Something for the next guy, if they really needed it. I'd say put some maintenence into it and keep it usable for the next guy since it's already there..
When I was younger we used to destroy man made shelters and things homeless people built, we also put stuff on the train tracks and tried to derail trains...what in the actual fuck was wrong with us.
Crap 4 Brains Teenage disease. Quite common. Hormones are a powerful drug. Ah, youth!
@@crap4brains281 me too man. I have changed a lot in the past 20 years. Now I’m just a boring 35 year old.
That Winston box is a lot less than 20 years old. The foam mattresses and plywood near the ground aren't showing 20 years worth of weathering, either. I'd say abandoned for maybe a couple of years, but not more than five.
Nice touch, fastening back the closures on the doors. You're still putting things back the way they were even though the cabin itself isn't sanctioned.
someone was watching him the whole time and stabbed his tire
Lol...true story
Shhhhhhh lol
Somebody knows about it, those trails are pretty worn.
That's what I was thinking
You can also tell they tried to hide the trail..
Right! That aint no game trail..lol
Yeah that's not a very secluded cabin, it's just a little off the main trail that looked like someone tried to cover up. And based on the tire tracks on the road I'd say someone is a frequent vistor, and based on this mans sidewall getting cut, I'd also say they weren't very far. Luckily he had a gun but it was pretty stupid to go alone. If hed fallen through the floor of the cabin and got injured or someone tried to rob him hed be all alone.
R.I.P this guy was never seen again
An obviously well worn path, a shack with colorful crap inside, cardboard is fresh, no rust on cans, it's been used maybe One Year ago. Having lived like this myself in the Santa Cruz and Sierra Mountains, I do solemnly testify that this place was used recently and will be used again. To haul the plywood in means there's a road nearby.
I'm still suspicious of the flat tire in the side wall. Its possible but odd. Id be watching my back if I went there again.
***** honestly looks like a 22 round went through it..
remote cabin on public land next to a river? Why do I feel like he skipped the part where he find a bigass Weed farm...
thinking the same. was thinking of the movie homegrown. was expecting some dudes coming out of the woods shootin. lol

Hey look, I found an abandoned Jeep in the woods!

Yeah and he sure has a pretty mouth.
GREAT vid man, next time you go out in the middle of nowhere though, remember the most important survival tool. tell someone where you are going "roughly" and when youll be back. carry some supplies. if you sprained an ankle or fell and got hurt... you could have died. just lookin out for you bro. awesome vid.
I was feel in the same when he was climbing that cabin…
Ham Radio is good. I am.
I loved this video. It's strange how a little adventure like this one is so simple and yet so much better than so much of the stuff on tv. Thanks!
It's just a hunting cabin.
+Alex Povolotski That is exactly what it is. They bait the deer or whatever and shoot from the porch. ^..^~~
+Alex Povolotski Don't mention the obvious. The whole "bugout cabin" & "nobody's been here for ~20 years" makes for a better story. Hunting cabin and clean-ish nylon sleeping bags inside doesn't have the same edgy feel and clickbait nature. ;) :)
Alex Povolotski yer because its near the river
Yup! Count on it.
You know, it's videos like these I love the most. Exploring areas long forgotten, abandoned by man, and free to roam by those adventurous and brave enough. Hopefully you've got more great areas nearby to explore!
JUST WHO gave him permission to roam in that HOME sweet home?
When coming across places like this, you should stand a bit aways, clapp a few times and yell hello. It may be illegal, or look abandond, but it may not be.
or booby trapped

Great you shut the door and left it like you found it. Enjoyed and glad to see the spare tire! Thanks and great your nice to leave cabin in one piece! Good man and good video.
Everything about this property says it is at most a couple of years old. The wood is still crisp and sharp. Nail heads are bright with no rain weeps. A heavy duty metal ladder permanent up the side. Nothing is tilting or even stained. It can't be so far off any path - no one is toting in 30lbs of aluminum over those trails on their back or even dragged in by donkey.
Not sure what the point was. Pardon me, I'm not sure what the *honest* point was.
looks like a weed grow hut to me
Congrats! You found the Uni-Bomber's summer place! LOL
Flat tire =stay away. I'd call that a warning
Beer = $
New tire = $$$
(I hope not! lol)
SmoothRide The value stem. Why slash a good tire?
Why not just stop recording and drink the beer?
@@joemcdonald3448 pretty much sinks in better when you flatten a mans tire in the middle of no where! this so called man did NOT have a clue. bet the bottle was thrown out the window when finished. some punks!!
I'll tell that was a wonderful looking cabin . Whoever made that cabin out there in the wilderness sure knew what he was doing ! I love fishing and camping and that wouldn't be a bad a bad cabin hideaway . Nice job finding the cabin .
You're lucky it wasn't booby-trapped.
lol booby.
TRAPPED BOOBIES :)
The cannibal hillbilly miners flattened your tire so you couldn't leave they were waiting till dark to spit roast you.
That blue poly 55 gallon drum is NOT 20 years old
rth095 We were cooling out deer in them in 1989.They've been around awhile
+Rob Basham theres a oatmeal cream pie box in there that's not old at all
+Jerry Parker So? Someone stayed there recently is all that proves
Have has one at my parent place for over 20 years
+rth095 20 years=1993 in this vid. Not that long ago.
"No one would ever find you out here" - yet you found it haha
If you find a cabin like this, tunnel, trench, or other camps be careful. There will often be booby traps and dead falls. Make sure to use extra caution when exploring the camps and areas around them.
Did you pick up the bottle cap Dude?.
Yes...
You sir are the lone wanderer.
really,and hows that sir.
I picked it up, honest.... I don't leave a trail... I'm more stealthy than that.
are you sure?I'm watching all the way from Aussie land,ha ha .
the hinges on the doors are not rusted, the top floor outside can be stood on by a large person, the nails above the top door are not rusted, in fact really shiny, all of the lumber material seems to be in pretty good shape, if you notice, no large limbs are laying against the room anywhere. so for you to say no one has been around it for 20 years is just your way of showing the world that you either staged this whole setup, or you really don't have a clue about how time and weather conditions affect any surrounding environment.
Dammit! You found my stabbin cabin!
LOL

That's where I keep my car parts mate.
3 guys used to spend their weekends there. one weekend they all vanished without a trace.
Geezus, what is with all the folks asking why he took along his pistol. In North America there is a significant chance of needing one in the wilderness. I have never used the fire extinguisher in my house but I think it is a good idea that I have one. Of the 100,002 times i have ventured into the wilderness I only needed a gun twice. Once I was riding around on my ATV and had a marijuana grower fire some shots into the treetops to scare me off and another time I had a pack of wild dogs get way too close for comfort. The marijuana grower was not a serious danger as I know who he is and he is not a psycho so no big deal. Those dogs could have killed me. I managed to avoid shooting any of the dogs but one was acting really aggressive towards me and had it crossed the small shallow stream between us I would have been forced to shoot it. It is so sad but a lady 50 miles from me got killed by two bull mastiffs when she went outside to get her mail a couple of weeks ago.
554687858
Great job psychoanalyzing me Sigmund. I guess you also do no believe in things like life jackets, bug spray, or knives. Let me guess you are one of those tough guy Europeans or Canadians I keep meeting here on the internet that merely will themselves to survive any situation. Of course people can survive a long time without guns but your odds go up drastically with one. Unless you know of a great way to kill things 100 yards away then just let me know. Knowing how tough you are you would probably just shoot lightning bolts from your ass
nodresiak
So you dislike Europeans and Canadians. I assume a nice American like yourself would love East Indians and Asians?
I am a firearm enthusiast myslef, I agree with you on carying one in the bush. But your sterotyoing of people is something I do not agree with. Are you like ALL americans? Or are you AN American?
woodybigo
I never said I disliked them. I just do not understand why so many of them feel the need to shit all over Americans for liking guns. I don't even have a concealed carry permit because I don't feel the area I live in poses significant dangers. Too many foreigners want to stereotype Americans as bloodthirsty cowboys when in reality the majority of gun owners just shoot holes in paper at the range. It is just weird because car guys never get accused of being dangerous even though some of them build cars that go extremely fast and could kill people if used improperly.
nodresiak
Exactly. Well said, sir.
Better to have the it and not need it, than to need it and not have it!
Great video. Thanks very much for taking the time and effort to share.
Thanks for sharing your experience! I would love to have found little cabin. I'm envious.
pisses me off the authority the feds think they have.... illegal cabin?? wtf man. You cant even build your own cabin in the woods without breaking the law, messed up
you think you're hard done by, in the UK you aren't even allowed to live in the woods
pppppphhh, wow
Agenda 21? UK is 10 years ahead on NWO timetable.
That's the truth !! I kinda hope the shtf!!
That was a cool cabin with a outdoor shitter and all. If the SHTF they will be 5,000 people all Heading there - Charles
cool cabin man. thats awesome that someone told u about it and u cared enough to go looking. lover the mountain view. ill send u some pics or do a video of the cabin me and my daughter built.
U should have looked at the dates on the coffee can and other shit
0:15 I cringed when you started getting worried about the paint on your Jeep, but you redeemed yourself soon after haha
***** Function > Fashion
***** Might as well lol
A clean and shiny Jeep (or any 4x4), unscarred by trails, is about as useful as a non-alcoholic beer. People who own them; please, be honest with yourselves and go buy a Prius. Save the fuel for those of us who really need it.
***** no one wants to beat on their brand new 50k truck
new trucks are so expensive you dont even want to use them for any work
It is a jeep. It's 70% plastic and 25% aluminum foil. A scratch from a small stick could cut it in half.
an angry cabin monster appears
queue up the Dragon Warrior music
Life In Frame LOL uses hurtmore
Cabin monster uses banjo rape attack! It is highly effective!
That was awesome bro. Thanks for taking us along with you. I could live in that cabin, of course with some repairs. LOL. Sorry about the flat tire... :-)
Doesn't look like any sort of 'bug out' cabin. Looks more like an old miners or hunters cabin. Nice find. I'm sure you're not the only one to have found it in the past 20 years however. Nor do I think it hasn't been used in 20 years. Nonetheless.. pretty cool to stumble upon something like that. "Permitted" or not. Nothing wrong with this. National forest / park land technically belongs to the people anyway.
To all the people wondering why he carries a pistol, you obviously haven't spent any time in the woods. That's bear, bobcat and mountain lion country. I never venture into the woods without mine on my hip. If it's national forest or national park area, there may be laws against shooting (as in target shooting) however it's perfectly legal to carry and frankly you'd be foolish not to. Better to have it and not need it than the other way around.
.
I think I would have brung my magnum or something along those lines , whet was it a 9 mm ? I went back, it was a 9, the way he was swinging the camera around someone could have been ten feet off the trail, with red flannel on an we wouldn't see him/her ?!
Ummm that's just a hunting cabin. A bug out shelter would likely have food stores, ham radio, seeds, fuel, etc etc. Beer bottles and old ammo boxes = hunting cabin. Duh, man.....really....duh.
ummmmm no. Most serious people that build bug out locations know that unless someone is living there sooner or latter no matter how well you hide it someone is going to find it and strip it of anything of value. Thus they put the supplies in a hole or such or bring all they need with them.
Supplies in a Hole is a good guess...
I would have yelled Hello? Just in case there was someone in there with a deer rifle? I've been shot at by crazy mountain people while riding my quad up in the deep back country. They could have been drug cartel workers too? I have no idea...we just rode off fast and tried not to get shot.
It's a hunting cabin,here in P.A.there are plenty of them.People don't go into them,it's just respect.If it ain't yours,don't worry about it.
mandewey3456 wow you have some serious maturity issues. You call people faggot right out the gate in a conversation? Gotta love the internet.
mandewey3456 well well sounds like you have homosexual tendencies.
and by the way if you ever shoot ANYONE for trespassing well your gonna go to jail. because you have to pinned in your house with no way out and there has to be a intruder before you can shoot! dumb ass, read a book! Oh and grow up, dont comment on anything agian, your cut off!
Daniel Ellis Cut off Ha ! Ha! Ha!
Daniel Ellis What is wrong exactly with "homosexual tendencies"?
Badass!! If you don't go waist high or lower, build yourself something with a watch tower/shooting range. I personally have chosen to go low and build low into a hill on my bug out property for "invisibly". After listening to all the extreme Military survival specialists, I see the sense in being low and blending in. People will be looking for cabins and bug out places, the untrained will be looking for them at eye level, at least that knocks out some predators. Let me know if you get it, you are already badass with your jeep, this would just take you to a new level. :)
Great video, enjoying a Sierra Nevada my self right now. The flat at the end, man alive i've been there more then a few times.
pretty well worn trail for a abandoned place
its just a hunting cabin, that's free for anyone to use. But this one hasn't been used in a while.
if you have to lock your jeep you ain't very far out there
Skinwalkers bruv
If you know about it, then lot's of other Knuckleheads know about it!
Maybe you'll re-think the minivan tires before you go offroad next time.
that blue barrel is nowhere 20 years old the same for the winston advertisement
MORRISON7585
was going to post the same. When in doubt, take a look at the coffee can or other packaging for best buy dates. The amount of debris on the roof makes me think maybe a season since it was cleared off. That chair alone after two seasons of exposure would be falling apart.
Wearing a gun is not a bad idea. It is not uncommon for illegal pot farming to be back in the woods, especially with a source of water. Depending on where you are. They pack illegals across the boarder, put em in little ramshackles like that and they grow huge fields, And they do NOT like visitors. However, they do like native brands and all the packaging I saw in the video is american.
The Hills Brothers coffee can is only a year or two old; there's no rust on it. Same thing for that Winston carton: it's almost brand new! With that stream right there, that box should be molding and the can rusting fairly quickly. Maybe the owner has abandoned it, but that shack is still getting regular visits.
MrClean417 I love how everyone here is a closet detective. The best buy dates are a great idea and everything else you mention is right on. Let me just say that "wearing the gun out in the woods is just common sense." And since the fellow in the video......Mr. Grizzleypeak mentioned when he first discovered the cabin, that the last thing he wanted to hear was banjo`s playing.......and all us guys who have seen that movie.....UNDERSTAND the importance of being armed in the woods. Bears and rattlesnakes come to mind also. Hey.....and thanks for not swearing in your video Grizzlypeak. I like the fact you went out of your way.....not to.
I was legit think when he was climbing up the ladder "that's the sketchiest thing ever" and right after that he said " I don't know looks pretty sketchy"
I'm pretty sure that those blue barrels are more recent than 20 years. You should have looked closer to the items there for dates to determine when it was last used. It might very well be a hunt cabin that gets occupied once every year or two.
20 years ago was the 90's. dude, it's not that long ago. plastic isn't gonna break down at all in such a small time.
that was neat ! ... good video ... if that goldminer had a claim though ... i tend to think the cabin would be legal ...
I wonder how that window got so clean even if it was rain that doesn't explain the inside....
I really enjoyed that ! I kept gritting my teeth hoping you wasn't gonna step on a trip wire. Being that far out they went to some trouble to be left alone but seeing it was a miner I understand. That had to be rip roaring fun. Well cept for the flat tire
WHAT a find!!! Pure gold!! Good luck with buying the claim. Am soooo jealous lol. What a bug out hideaway!!! Wow. Now just keep it on the downlow now and shhhhh .. no more ipdates on its location and capabilities, reno's (if u get it) etc. Just so so cool though. Truly a find.
that was an absolutely gorgeous place, where is it? not specifically where but what state and county?
It definitely wasn't "abandoned" at the time of this video. There are clean items when you open the door and that was a newer lawn chair than being from "20 years ago". Those were modern items, even the little debbie box on the bed was a newer one. The sleeping bag was free of most dirt and dust. What you found is a place were a squatter lives.
Brandon Ramos or a homeless camp as some call it. Maybe it was built 20 years ago but abanded no more than 1 year ago
cool video. thanks for sharing. I read through some comments and I just want to say, I'm not a survivalist or a hunter but I'm guessing a lot of the commenters aren't either. Several mention they think it's not abandoned due to things like no debris on the crapper and the modern blue container. It doesn't take a lawyer to know that abandoned property may be squatted on (that's a legal term meaning illegally residing) by people passing through. So they used the crapper and brought a blue barrel. Sounds like grizzlypeak had it on pretty good authority from the town folk that it was abandoned. As for the tire, that did look a bit like a large Phillips gouge.
well done video guy fav part besides the hermit cabin was the ridiculous view u showed of the landscape near the beginning looks epic out there
Great video and cool find. Not illegal if it's on an active mining claim. Did you check for that? Being that close to the river and how well traveled the road/trail, I'd be careful if you decide to improve on conditions. It's always fun to come across a piece of history and ponder what has transpired in the past. Nice hangout spot if you decide to clean things up.
What if there were walkers in there?!
no such thing as zombies -_-
Yet........
-face palm-
He's too stupid to live, he left 40 rounds in the vehicle and didn't even take a sweater, one cold snap and the squirrels eat him.
I like that you didn't just leave every thing open after
Just left it how you found it
A+
Super cool vid! Thank for sharing :)
can you give us a map, to the cabin?
Sooooo, what classifies this as a "bugout cabin"? It's merely a plain sight structure in the woods.......Too much television for some of you nerds.
He meant it could be used as a bug out cabin
In that case, anything could be. I've seen hunting cabins/structures with better designs and concealment.
OrangeDiamond Barbarossa thank you! He obviously has NO clue what a bug out cabin is.
well built, cheap as hell cabin. leave it alone, aint yers! IF that cabin was locked, WOULD this trespasser kicked it in? THATS why it was unlocked. wasn't much to steal inside.
did you all see the footing and building underneath this home? looked like a basement!
Thanks. I really enjoyed your video.
Really interesting . Thankyou for showing it .
its a damn hunting shed lol
I watched this video all the way through,,,,do I get a medal or something?.
that was too funny...my husband made a comment about hoping you don't hear any banjos and about 5 seconds later you say almost exactly what he said. It was worth a good laugh, and a very cool find by the way!
Nice. Found an old abandoned "cabin" on a remote barrier island on the inside passage. Was about 180 square feet. Found some traps, spend casings, leather boot laces (kinda rotted), a tin or metal type cup, a pick, a few axes, a rusted to hell knife that looks like it was made from an old huge file, a few old marbles and just random stuff. the door was open slightly but had tons of overgrowth, I kept the marbles.
One thing you don't do is build a bug out cabin near a body of water like that.
Why not?
Water systems are like the highways of the bush. If you’re lost, you can typically follow one in hopes of finding a way out. Even if you don’t find a way out, you have water right there to hydrate. So if you put your bugout cabin near water, you would have a higher chance of someone stumbling by and finding it.
Someone told you about it. (I guess he was a nobody) lol
There's your new vacation spot, quiet and fishing... love it! Next time you go, bring a pan and hit those pebbles :-)
A genuinely cool and interesting video. It would be nice to find out more info if you can and do a follow up. Thanks for taking the time to do the vid and to share it up here for all to see.
It amazes me how many (ignorant) people have so many awful things to say about this man taking us to this abandoned cabin AFTER they watched the video themselves! Why did you bother even watching it? I mean, for Christ sakes, he got a flat tire on top of it all.
+Nusipepa Lepaio sexist piece of shit
If the guy had a permit to mine for whatever he was mining for, then they had the right to build a shelter and therefore it is not an illegal shelter.
SmoothRide Scooter Sled in winter is a likely one.
As its found on an incline on a path leading to the site thats down hill, gravity would be a good bet...
I dig this kind of stuff. Good for you man!
Did you figure out why the ventilation pipe? A root cellar maybe?
Im giving it a 85% chance thats not just for camping or "bugging out". That looks like a minor grow op cabin. Close to water source, storage space, out in the middle of nowhere in the middle of nowhere. If it looks like a duck...
cann abis
Yeah, i guess we need to inform the mexican mafia that its a bad idea to do this in No.Cal... I think you need to lay off the weed man, its makin you stupid.
Neh, its a still site. any of us that make our own "cold medicine" can tell that much.
Absolutely could be a still site. Where I'm from, Tennessee, if you think that's what it is, you'd best be takin your ass out of there.
What I was commenting on is the fools that think this is a 'grow' site. You have to have light and water to grow. Lots of water, no light at this site. Not enough light in the woods, and no electricity=no plants. Period.
Exactly my point. course we could both be wrong and could just be a spot teenagers built to hook up with out their parents knowing, or some homless folks built it lol But yea, if its a still site he is lucky it doesnt look active atm lol
No sun, no electricity, no grow. You couldn't grow anything on that site. You need to get out more.
I wish you wouldn't have emphasized how it was illegal so much. No one in the entire USA with the exception of a very few do truly own their own land. True land ownership means free from having to pay property taxes. As long as we are forced to pay off the slugs at the IRS we will never own anything. We just manage it for the government and instead of them paying us to manage it, we pay them. Sounds a bit backwards doesn't it?
I agree! You never own your land our house. You still pay for it, you just dont pay a bank anymore, but you will still pay the gov't as long as you live!

You all enjoy those paved streets your home is on, enjoy that fire department that will attempt to save you burning home, enjoy that police department that patrols those streets....

If you don't know why you need a Gun out there you need to get out of San Francisco more. Tire Sidewall looked speared with something sharp.
