Potato Picasso I agree with you!! Also by the 1980s, Queen had established their presence and they were more comfortable with themselves and the stadiums and fans. That’s what made the live aid performance an A+ for Queen & they stole the show. They have been performing in large stadiums for five years or more.
Tabbycat idk about that. You can’t have A Night at The Opera with out a day at the races. They go hand in hand. So one cannot be over looked without recognizing that.
In all fairness, if the release order was switched, Bohemian Rhapsody would habe gained more success regardless, popularizing A Nigh At The Opera just as much, if not more. A Day At The Races would provide Queen with that last jump into the Mainstreem propelled previously by Killer Queen, and heald by Somebody To Love. And given that success, Bohemian Rhapsody would have less obstacles getting through to Radio stations. Think of that for a moment. Bohemian Rhapsody got as big as it did despite initially only one radio station allowing to play it, and that's because Kenny Everett and Freddie were close friends. Imagine how big that song would have gotten if radio stations saw that Queen had a new single and proceeded to play it, despite it's length. They'd think "Oh if a band like this is already popular, it wouldn't be much of a risk to play a 6 minute song", whereas what we actually got was mildly successful Queen releasing a 6 minute single, and radio stations thinking "This band is not big enough to waste air time on".

Beatles is great, but i prefer Queen because their pop have a lot of genre into one and made me relive the olden days. Great question and video, keep it up!
I personally prefer 80's Queen because a lot of my favourite songs from Queen come from that decade. Plus that's the decade of which Highlander came from and that's made Queen my favourite band. And there's Live Aid..... enough said really.
Its past 9am Jan 1st where I am. I like both 70s and 80s. 70s as queen is evolving and Freddie wrote the historical bohemian rhapsody and his voice is raw and pure. 80s as queen and Freddie have stood the test of time their music changes and set the trend. We saw in the 80s their greatest performance written and cannot be erased in the minds of people. History is told by those who live in that and this generation. ❤️❤️❤️
Thx 4 Watching! What do you think was the better decade for Queen? 70s or 80s? czcams.com/users/FineArtsFineArts Uploaded this video just before we hit 2019! At least for where I am here in the UK. 2018 has been an interesting year. Oh, depending on time zones or whatever make sure to have a happy new year! Btw, here is a link to my Discord Server: discord.gg/7MCapKD
You forgot to compare the clothes! I think 70's wins there as well. Who could go past the black nail polish, long flowing hair, and Zandra Rhodes fashions. I would generally vote 70's. I loved how eclectic and experimental they were.
Hey Fine Arts, thanks for the upload. I concur with your thoughts exactly. 70s wins! Personally, Queen live at the Odeon in Hammersmith is where my love lies. That was pure unadulterated, brilliance. Although they had masterpieces in each of the three decades, 70s, 80s, and 90s, I believe the 70s produced the most technically challenged masterpieces and hit songs due to the lack of modern equipment. Plus, those that came from that decade have been able to stand the test of time (by default of being the oldest tried and true). Again, for me, 70s wins, hands down. Happy New Year!
That will depend on where you live and the decade that you lived through Queen. Based on an interview with Brian May, when you have hits in America you've pretty much made it. The Game's Crazy Little Thing Called Love and Another One Bites the Dust were no. 1 in the US in the 80s so America could claim some credit on Queen's global success in the early 80s. But an irony is that Queen had their memorable gig at Live Aid in '85 with three of their hit 80s songs yet didn't include 'Bites in their set. That's because they performed in London, Crazy Little Thing' was the better ranking song (no. 2 in the UK and no. 1 in the US), and local audiences recognized Queen's music as more of rock and less of funk/disco. So for me, who is from a country with high US influence and was born in '79 who lived through 80s Queen, the 80s and the latter years will be the better Queen. Thanks to the Bohemian Rhapsody movie I am recently backtracking to 70s Queen music and appreciating them in a different perspective.
Well for myself, I dont think you can really seperate one decade from the other. I mean you wouldn't have the Queen from the 80's without the 70's. Queen have always been able to evolve but still sound like Queen. Some songs can be difficult to tell if they're from 80's. Ive appreciated how open they were to experiment with different sounds. It would be easier to express which songs I enjoyed more because I love the band for different reason between the two decades. The 70's bring the young raw, explosive vocals of Freddie.. where in the 80's Freddies vocals had grown more matured and confident. Anyway..flip a coin..and when it lands...flip it again.
Wow..!! Fine Arts... you did a nice work in this video!! But it’s so hard to me decide between 70’s or 80’s decade... maybe it’s because I just love all of them.., the songs and style are different, obviously, but ... amazing at the end.., and you forgot to mention “Innuendo” .. a master piece in deed. 💔💔💔💔
The works was a great sigh of relief after hot space. A bunch of awesome rock songs that nods back to their late 70s sound. One of my favourite albums along with the game
I loved both!! One of my favorite songs they put out was released in 1989. I knew it was QUEEN the moment this song came on the radio. I was pregnant with my first child listening to the radio and I heard that song. Freaking amazing! They were not touring at the time and they were able to put out some awesome music in the studio.
The 70’s for Queen were GRAND their music was on point year after year they created hits. The 80’s for Queen we’re just as great with there performances at live aid and wembley in ‘86 and music was also very recognizable All in all queen managed to throw life changing movements through out a 20 year span. Good for them.
I love the aesthetic of 70s Queen with the glam, the shared clothes, just how they were younger and had this sense of enjoyment and wonderment about them. By the 80s, they had seen some shit and gone through shit and they were more jaded overall. But musically, I’m definitely more into the 80s/90s Queen. I’m a fan of soul music, Tamla Motown, all of those influences that John Deacon brought when he started writing more. So... porque no los dos? 😅
70s musically, great songs, heavy, 80s, freddies voice was at its best. They took their live shows to another stratosphere in the 80s also, but as far as songs and albums definitely 70s for me.
70s by a landslide, for me. The Hammersmith Odeon, their penchant for flair, their passion and zeal, and their songs and albums. For me, the 80s really just has Live Aid in its corner. The 80s wasn't a bad era by any means, but the 70s were when they were starving to prove themselves and make real music. By 1980s the Game, I feel that some of their passion had worn out - though, they seemed to ramp it back up for The Works and A Kind of Magic!
this is a debate that I've internalized in my head for so long. I cant really decide since there are so many pros for each decade and not many cons. Welp, that just means more great music to listen to for me!
I love the queen of the 70s, because freddies voice was very nice, cool sound to hear. I also like in the 80s, queen, but freddies voice has abit destroy because he smoke, drunk, till he got aids his voice was a little destructed.they have many concert in the 80s . I wish the two remaining queens' will contenue..doing good job..fr their fans. I love queen!!thanks fr uploading this vdeo sir! Happy new year!!
Who knows what would have happened had Freddie not contracted AIDS and was not sick and weak..........He would and should have had many more decades with his band to produce many more masterpieces, albums and concerts!
Of course 70s Queen wins hands down. Better songs and better albums. Better Everything. Although Live Aid 1985 is problaby Queen's finest moment ever live.
Even though 70's had the most iconic songs, I feel like the number of good songs from each decade is fairly even. It feels like people gloss over songs they did in the 80's such as: A kind of magic One Vision Who wants to live forever Princes of the universe crazy little thing called love I want it all Breakthru I think it's amazing that they kept producing high quality music all the way til the very end
cookie hill - Some of my fave songs are by John - Friends will be friends, You and I, One year of love, Need your loving tonight, I want to break free, Spread your wings, Who needs you, Rain must fall - to name a few. His songs were a different style with great lyrics people could relate to and very mainstream accessible. Great bass lines in everything. My fave bass line is Millionaire Waltz.
Tbh, haven’t watched the vid yet, but personally 70s were greater because all they did in the 70s was pretty much carried over to the 80s and beyond lol.
70's: They produced the best songs, albums etc.
80's: They performed these songs in the best way.
90's: They proved that Freddie is a legend.

Beatles is great, but i prefer Queen because their pop have a lot of genre into one and made me relive the olden days. Great question and video, keep it up!
70’s Queen are better.
Boo Bop 𝕚𝕜𝕣
Happy New Year Everyone!
Shame you could not involve 90s Queen into the mix. Nice video though!
70's for sure. 80's was largely too poppy for me, not including masterpieces like Was It All Worth It. Queen II is my favourite album ever by anyone.
yess queen 2 is fucking amazing and the most underrated album they have ever made in my opinion.
I personally prefer 80's Queen because a lot of my favourite songs from Queen come from that decade.
Plus that's the decade of which Highlander came from and that's made Queen my favourite band. And there's Live Aid..... enough said really.
70’s: albums
80’s: performances
This guys voice: boring and unenthusiastic
sarah Hotel? Trivago
He sounds so obviously that he's reading off a script lol
sarah I don’t see you making queen commentary videos
He sounds like he's announcing something from an intercom.

70s or 80s?

Uploaded this video just before we hit 2019!
70's Queen. In the 70's Queen they did the Queen sound
Fine Arts
I prefer 70’s
I love queen, the editing, and your accent.
Both !!!!!!!!!👑 ❤❤❤❤
Indeed
This channel needs more supports, the edits and everything is just AWESOME!
There is no question. All of queens music is the best!!!!
70s queen any day of the year, however there were some good 80s queen songs
70s queen gets bonus points for Freddie’s on fleek hair 👌 😂
I can’t decide... all decades of Queen have a special place in my heart
We ALL know the answer...
EVERY SINGLE ONE IS THE BEST!
70s queen. Way better but 80s still amazing
WAY WAY WAY BETTER THE 70s
I honestly prefer ‘70 Queen but I obviously love both ‘70 and ‘80 Queen 👑
Perfekcyjnie i profesjonalnie dobra robota . Podziękowania dla twórców
Both decades were universally top notch!!!!
The works was a great sigh of relief after hot space. A bunch of awesome rock songs that nods back to their late 70s sound. One of my favourite albums along with the game
I consider the 80s **puts hand up** the era of DiScO dEaCy
More content man! You rock 🤘! #respect
70's for me!!!! But all are wonderful!!
I'll listen to all their records and live shows 70's,80's, all songs. I don't care for analysis.
Well,Queen in 1979 precisely on crazy tour,Freddie often hit high note than the 80s
Freddie hit almost all the high note at newcastle concert
Newcastle 12/4> Newcastle 12/3 > Liverpool 12/6> Hammersmith 12/26> Glasgow 12/1 >>>>>> 80s
My favourite Queen era is Day of The Race - The Game.
So many of my favourite songs are located within these albums.
❤️🧡💛💚💙💜
70s Queen: 1st
80s Queen:2nd
*90s Queen has left the game*
70’s
80’s
90’s
As long as it’s Queen.
Both eras are great.
Case closed.
I'll take them then and now!!! Miss Freddie. I love Adam Lambert but he doesn't compare. He just sings!
The 70’s for Queen were GRAND their music was on point year after year they created hits.
The 80’s for Queen we’re just as great with there performances at live aid and wembley in ‘86 and music was also very recognizable
All in all queen managed to throw life changing movements through out a 20 year span.
They fantastic in any time! Couldt imagine what they could create in 2000s. But Freddie was killed and betrayed.
90's the best!
Freddie died in 91 so how can it be a great decade
@@delainepep22 I think it was a joke..... well hopefully 😂
These millennials are idiot's
NO WAY THE 70s BABY
I refuse to choose! Both decades are full fabulousness & you cannot have too much fabulousness in your life
Why do Queen make it so bloody difficult to choose between both decades?! Cos they're too brilliant
70s. Being able to see them in intimate venues and have a chat after. The first 3 albums. Nothing else compares. What a time to be alive!
70s musically, great songs, heavy, 80s, freddies voice was at its best. They took their live shows to another stratosphere in the 80s also, but as far as songs and albums definitely 70s for me.
It's decades with different songs and performances from the band but all extraordinary.
oh queen live at the rainbow was so fucking cool I wish I was there at the time.
If legend's never die that means Freddie is in our heart still
70s by a landslide, for me.
Loved them both
I love the queen of the 70s, because freddies voice was very nice, cool sound to hear.
I agree! Very true his voice never was authentic after the 70's raw tunes he belted, but still one of a kind masterpieces!!!
Aging affects voice btw
As you age, your voice very slightly withers.
Innuendo: am I a joke to you?
Who knows what would have happened had Freddie not contracted AIDS and was not sick and weak..........He would and should have had many more decades with his band to produce many more masterpieces, albums and concerts!
We can only imagine. It makes me sad to think about all the songs he never got to write or sing.😓😤😥💗💔💋
Albums/songs: 70s
Looks: 80s
Live Performances: 80s
Of course 70s Queen wins hands down. Better songs and better albums. Better Everything. Although Live Aid 1985 is problaby Queen's finest moment ever live.
70s Freddie's voice is crystal
80s Freddie's voice is thunder
90s Freddie's voice is LASER cutting through crystal
Haha so true
I love the 75-85 Queen
My favorite album is A Night At The Opera...I love it...it’s just perfect 👌🏼
Even though 70's had the most iconic songs, I feel like the number of good songs from each decade is fairly even. It feels like people gloss over songs they did in the 80's such as:
A kind of magic
One Vision
Who wants to live forever
Princes of the universe
crazy little thing called love
I want it all
Breakthru
I think it's amazing that they kept producing high quality music all the way til the very end
Then the make or break would be bohemian rhapsody
I would say 70s albums. 80s live performances
Dangggg 100 likes 0 dislike good Job👍
I love 70's queen
They are all jewels and love John Deacon's unexpected work, he is really talented and I think he could have done so much more but held back
cookie hill - Some of my fave songs are by John - Friends will be friends, You and I, One year of love, Need your loving tonight, I want to break free, Spread your wings, Who needs you, Rain must fall - to name a few.
I've always wanted to have my own classic rock station so I can play both 70's and 80's Queen!
I love both
A third of The Game was recorded in '79. 1970s Queen for the win!
David DeCouto not to mention the album cover was the promo of crazy little thing called love that was made in the 70s
I like 70s queen they totally rocked but Freddie's voice was always fantastjc
Love both.
You don't need to apologize for the early albums. I think Queen II is a masterpiece, and March of the Black Queen is possibly their best song.
"... mostly good albums"!?! QUEEN never EVER made a bad album!! Hrumph!!!
I love both decades equally
both decades are awesome!!
