This show was so underrated it deserved more
I can arcoss TUGS from old VHS Tapes when I was a kid. I loved the series just as much as any childhood series I watched back then.
This was a great video. It was nice of you to share with us your views on 'TUGS'. Interesting how 'Jinxed' is your favourite episode, that was the episode that introduced me to the show :) .
as a kid, I've always enjoyed tugs myself, my favorite episode's were "Munitions" and "High Tide" for munitions, it's the way the crew did the explosions and for high tide, it's awesome seeing a fuzzy tug letting a dirty garbage barge help him save the train, and just excepts the way he smells now.
and on my 18th birthday I've showed the series to my mother and sister, and they both loved it, and Izzy Gomez happens to be sister's favorite character
Great Video. Tugs shows what David Mitten did during his days on Thunderbirds and why effects in Thomas went to film level too. I loved high tide the trains part and munitions too. TUGs for was on a tape recorded off TV ABC with OG Noddy too
That sure was a Brilliant Video at That, TUGS is definitely a Great Show, as Much as I remember Theodore Tugboat, that's a Great Show as Well.
I was only about 1 or 2 years old, My Mum took my Brother & I to The Local Co-Op (which is now a Mattlan) for lunch & Mum would get my brother to pick up a Video & one day He Picked up A Video called TUGS: Munitions & Regatta, My brother was a fan of Thomas the Tank Engine when he was younger, Mum took one look at it & said "I see No Harm in Tugs, It's made by the same team behind Thomas & Friends", So we Bought it, Watched the 2 episodes & I can say My Brother & I were Hooked on to TUGS for Life! Happy 35th Anniversary to TUGS!
I remember watching TUGS in school as a kid in the early 2000s, but when I watched on CZcams in my tween and teen years, I really liked it, almost as much as it's sister series, Thomas The Tank Engine!
I did the same thing when the Disney Channel first aired in Australia i was up bright and early ready to watch it. This video also makes me feel really old, i don't remember watching the show, but do remember acting out the bridge scene from High Tide back when i was 3-4, so I must have seen it when it was broadcast on ABC tv back in the early 90's
Same thing happened to me watching Theodore tugboat that use to broadcast at playhouse Disney and later watch tugs in vhs jinx, quarantine and up river

Great video, as always 👍 and thanks for sharing your views about the show as well. I loved watching this show as well when I was a kid. However, Thomas will still be my number one.
I remember the first 2 Tugs episodes I watched in my childhood "Munitions" and "Regatta" both only 2 episodes on the same video. I had 3 same videos 2 with the same cover with yellow and 1 with a different cover with blue.

But was it really character growth for top hat because of the canonical airing order high tide comes before munitions, and technically it shows in the unlucky tugs retrospective and the past events of high tide and big Mickey death
I blame all the production hell for that
@@NWR1991 Yeah, the show's production hell absolutely screwed with the continuity order of the show. With three episodes which were quickly made up to replace scrapped episode (Pirate, Quarantine and High Winds), along with some more episode scripts going through major changes during the show's filming (Sunshine, Trapped, Up River, Bigg Freeze). On top of the episodes going through several cuts and episode orders getting reshuffled.
As for the character growth of Top Hat, that may be an outdated theory from 2020. Going off the shooting schedule for Quarantine shown during an Exhibition event in August 2021, there doesn't seem to be a scene in the episode where Top Hat does anything to help O.J. Although, it seems like it based on earlier script draft, and may have had some quick revisions done before or during filming.
As for that deleted scene in the monitor, that's a scene where Top Hat and Warrior go to pick up Kraka Toa and take it to the Breaker's Yard after the events of Munitions. We have another behind the scenes picture of it you check the "Deleted Scenes" page on the TUGS. Sorry for the long walls of text, I'm a big nerd for the show lol.
@@specialtrees237- Ah never knew it was deemed as outdated. Though all the BTS stuff and discussions that was all over twitter around 2021 was just alot to take in.
@@NWR1991 I still am v Confused about high tide and munitions I honestly think munitions should have aired before regatta as Top hat doesn’t do any in the former
As a person who came into this series pretty late, I can say that it's due to people mentioning this on CZcams that I discovered a hidden gem made by those who made one of my childhood favorites growing up. 🚂🚃🚃 It's a shame that it never got the reputation it deserved but it's cool that people are either discovering it or rediscovering it for the first time and are finding out how good it is in every way. 😊👍
