Friend it is not fixed above 5hp motor means star delta.there has many place where 40 hp motor run with dol starter according to our requirement it depends either dol or star delta.yes it is right when we are going to higher rating motor it should run with star delta starter...in my company..where chiller pump motor(40hp) running with dol starter.
