Great idea. Where can I find or what is the name of that drill bit? Can you share the list of material and their measure? Thank you in advance for your reply
For those banging on about his "pillar drill" and "drill press". 1. It was a bench drill! 2. Hes not making a drill, hes making a mortice machine. 3. The drill he had didnt have the travel to chisel mortices. 4. On the drill he had there is no capacity to hold the hollow chisel, only the auger.
I have a Delta mortising jig complete with 1/4”, 5/16”, 3/8”, and 1/2” chisels and drills… never used. Probably be cheaper and much less time on set-up. I am impressed with your build!
The project is really great. I just think some details can be improved to make the project better. The first wood of the bottom, the one the drill pass through, could be open, so the woodface the drill is touching would be more visible. The base, just looks for me, maybe I'm wrong, looks to narrow, and maybe could have more space bigger wood thicknesses. And a doubt. When you started drilling, a black metal seems to touch the wood, maybe to hold the wood for the drill return, I don't know.... How do that works?
I really enjoyed your video. I have about 20 industrial mortising bits but no mortising machine. I would love to try and build what you made so that I can use all my mortising bits. By any chance did you make plans on how to build this?
Good ideas...sangat bermanfaat didunia pertukang kayuan yg tidak punya cukup dana untuk membeli yang built up...alat pabrikan yang dijual dipasaran...terima kasih Bung!
I wonder how much it cost to build that thing and how much time it took with all those precise pieces of metal with the holes drilled in just the right places. My drill press was cheaper.
I have a drill press. That works as well, doesn't it? That contraption is a nice thing. If you don't have a drill press. 😂😂 That square hole thingy though, that's interesting.
It's called a mortising bit. It's used for mortise and tenon joints. It's a woodworking technique used for higher strength or generally in higher end projects. It's been used for centuries in woodworking. In the past done by hammer and chisel, today with overpriced power tools. Well, I suppose there are plenty of woodworkers we still do them by hand but most are more concerned with productivity than the craft so do $$$ for speed.
VOUS ETES UN GENIE.. QUELLE IMAGINATION... QUEL TRAVAIL MAGNIFIQUE
FELICITATIONS .. 👍👍👍...👏👏👏...🙏🙏🙏 UN BRICOLEUR MARSEILLAIS

Excellent video. i admire your patience and enginuity.
Thanks for sharing, this way you save a lot of money because the original device is really expensive

CHOU DE BOLA, PARABENS.
What a perlava
Nice sharp chicel its worked for centuries
If you can add transparent acrylic sheet at the bottom itcwoild be very easy see as where we are cutting
That's exactly what I shouted at the screen lol.
I am also a furniture repairer, I love watching all your videos.
Thnk you
i would love if you should describe where you bought your tools........
Do you need to have the drill on a ‘hammer’ setting with this mortise bit or will it cut without the hammer setting?
Was the drill you used a standard drill or a hammer drill?
👍 Super👍

Sling support yah kawan
Heath-Robinson replacement for a mallet and chisel. OK if you have to do a thousand holes, otherwise quicker just to use the mallet and chisel.
Woooww...!!! Amazing idea.. nice.. 😁👍👍👍
When you use a drill press to make an even more expensive and complicated... home made drill press.
Oh dear, you dont know much about drills or mortices do you 😂
Considering cost of materials and labor a quick trip to Harbor Freight or Home Depot would make more sense!?
Eu queria um assim
I shall like have that tool to make the square holes in the wood when to make some tables. It's very handy.
I need one like this😎👍🏼

can you named the parts that you use in the project? thanks
Lots of noise, no links to materials used? No dialogue! Unique idea!!😮
Excellent great work but a bit complicated to design
For all the time, kit, metal work I would buy a Mortiser, ridiculously complicated!
Excellent, but where did you find that sleeve for the drill bit?
That's unit is called a hollow mortice chisel
SEÑOR LE FELICITO POR SU EXSELENTE TRABAJO PERO YO LE SUPLICO CUANTO CUESTA ESTE APAROTO MAERAVILLOSO POR FABOR LO NESECITO
très belle vidéo
All that to build a drill press? Seriously? Ever heard of Northern Freight? Cheeeeez!
It’s a mortise press. $600 minimum.
I wonder how much it cost to build that thing and how much time it took with all those precise pieces of metal with the holes drilled in just the right places. My drill press was cheaper.
Why not just use the pillar drill you already have?
Prity good built, but you didn't mention the measurement of the parts.
WOW!.. you made a mortising jig from a mortising tool that normally fits on a regular drill press... What am I missing?
Not only that you used a regular drill press to do it?
Show de bola
hola genial producto
Brilliant build
Best idea. Good sefty .congratulations.
Very creative. I'd like to know if I can purchase one piece as a model.
Incredible rig :D

Ide kreatif sangat bermanfaat
Good idea, congratulations 😀.
Too much work to be done nice idea
Tank you very nice 👍 my friend 😀 and very good and Quality 👌
I see Delhi in your video, you make very good videos, I get to learn a lot from your videos, thank you so much
Cara melubangi kayu buat alat kebutuhan rumah ide yang bagus
Well done but what the reason to make that by wood? It would be better to do the same using the steel profiled tubes. Don't you?
Excelent
So helpful information
Super robota.
Mi by się nie chciało tyle pierdolić żeby wpust zrobić.
Dużo roboty, ale efekt dobry.
Nice build, but not much depth for a workpiece, or does the head raise up more?

Nice idea sir..hope you can visit my little house.
Amazing bro👌👌👌
If you have hammer drill is better you don't have to press hard good job 2 T up .

Does anyone have an idea what the material is called at 2:44? The gray square pointy thing.
hollow chisel
@@maxdenver2376 Thnx! I owe you one :)
It's a mortice drill bit
Bang bisa pesan duduknya jek bgtu?
Could you add plans for making this project
👍👍☕
Disculpa como se llama la broca gracias
Joss...
Very good👍
amazing.....
I don't see the point of having a hole where the chisel is entering, just make that opening bigger so you can see what you're doing
Another overly complicated machine that is easily replaced by other work methods.
I have a drill press. That works as well, doesn't it? That contraption is a nice thing. If you don't have a drill press. 😂😂
