needs to be put down or banned from the industry. I’ve literally seen NPC vehicles glitch and break the physics just to cut me off in GTA V - essentially warp in front of me. That alone illustrates what an inferior piece of shit GTA V is to GTA IV.

You can do that in GTA V, but since most of the map is relatively empty and the city itself is pretty dull, it just isn't as fun (one exception being when you take Trevor down to Franklin's hood and hurl taunts at gang members and other pedestrians - always ends in violence).

My only real criticism of GTA IV is that the missions have no checkpoints, which means failure means you start at the beginning again. I'm so glad they fixed that in GTA V. i wouldnt call it lazy, more like publishers think that games can be made in the same amount of time that they used to be made but expect next gen graphics and systems. not knowing how much more it takes to make a game nowadays so they crunch the devs and systems have to be cut to meet deadlines

Yes, although my expectations of gta V was much much more advanced than what we got. Gta 5 fixes and still improves on the mechanics that gta 4 had, while also some more, though removing some as well. Gta 5 wasn’t a big leap that i thought it would be, but it’s still one of the genuinely very good games that are out there. Although gta 4 is underrated now, but it was a big leap in gaming when it came out. I still like gta 4 way more, and i like the online freemode. that it has. I wish gta 5 also had an online freemode.

I’ve beat vice city like 8 times San Andreas at least 4 times Gta 4 twice GTA V …1 time….I can barely get through the prologue. GTA v should have allows Franklin to enjoy gang activity like cj from San Andreas. Michael should have enjoyed buying up business and renovating, Trevor should have introduced us to all the wacky crazy shit gta is usually known for. The replayability could have been fleshed out for V a lot more but it’s just boring after u beat it.

Maybe I'm an unhinged sadist, but GTA 4 had the best physics. I loved how if you slowly drove into pedestrians they'd put their hand on the hood and would actually walk with you until you built enough speed to topple them over. There is a double staircase on the northeast side of the middle Island with tons of foot traffic at the top and I'd spend hours just slowly pushing people down it with my car and watch them slowly build up speed as they fell down the stairs lol

I played through most of gta 4 with the glock. It was so reliable. Even with bunch of enemies. The targeting system was so fine tuned to the controller. Lightly squeezing the trigger has you aiming down sight and squeezing full on fires the shot. That was a brilliant feature. Aiming once you know how to do it was seemless.

Whenever I was starting to get overwhelmed by the police and NOOSE in GTA IV, I'd typically retreat to the nearest subway enterence. Lot's of cover to weave in and out of which would make good opportunities to pop out and take a few shots at the cops before continuing deeper. Eventually, I'd lose them in the tunnels and find the nearest enterence and come back up again.
Amazing experience! GTA IV is still one of my favorites. Especially with all of the fun mods out there to play with.

When I first played GTA4 I thought the physics engine was too real and the littlest clipping of something would send you blazing out of a car or onto a road to get gravel rash, but you slowly adapted and found the weight of things and which vehicles suited you. On playing GTA5 I whimpered at how bad the physics were and went back to playing GTA4 and the other DLC. This is why I keep GTA4 & the DLC around to act like a total git and enjoy it! 😊

You needed a complete beast of a PC to play it well and with mid/upper-mid range PCs, you had to juggle the settings to get something usable. The update we got, and way too late at that, ironed out a chunk of the issues but by then people had completed it and only went on to see the differences the update made. The update did make playing the DLC better and more enjoyable.

In my opinion, GTAIV wasn't surpassed by GTAV at all. IV is still the pinnacle of storytelling and offers the fullest single player experience in the series.
V may have done better online, sure, but that's 100% due to the time it released and lack of alternative similar experience on the PS4. You also have to take into account that there are much more people playing games now than ever, it's gone mainstream during GTAV's lifespan and more people have access to consoles in countries which previously couldn't afford them. What appears to be overwhelming success in V compared to IV is more than likely just a product of the times

Driving physics in GTA 4 are perfect. Definitely better, than in GTA 5 where the car drives like on rails most of the time... And at the same time, it isn't hard to learn. It's not BeamNG, or some racing sim. It takes time to get used to, but it's better than playing a game where every car feels the same.
