HUGE THANKS to ExpressVPN for offering all Food Ranger viewers 3 months free and 49% off their yearly package using this link: ExpressVPN.com/Thefoodranger . Travelers need ExpressVPN to stay safe online and to unblock any site. I personally use it for Netflix, even while at home in Canada, but also while traveling to unblock content and episodes that are geoblocked, and I also use it for security, because airport wifi and hotel wifi is often very insecure, leaving my data vulnerable. By connecting to one of their servers around the world, it’s just like my computer or phone is in that location, and all data sent while connected to their VPN is secure, safe, and private from others to see, so I know that my data won’t be hacked or looked at by others. Thanks so much for watching, and we have tons more videos coming up for you! Please leave me a comment below letting me know what you thought about this episode, thanks so much!!!

I think it is Mandarin. The Canadian can only speak Mandarin Chinese.
The majority of that region is now Bangladesh, which is also the origin.
Even the chinese uncle speaks english with indian accent... amazing! 😊
Well, they've been living in India for decades, shouldn't really come as a surprise.
He's not chinese tho. He's indian.
He's indian of Chinese heritage
Accent is not genetic!
Because they are now indian citizens of chinese origin
We Hakka is all over the world. We still keep our language and culture for 2000years.keep it. I am Chinese Hakka from NanXiong. I am doing business in india. I am so proud

I am working in Hong Kong and I do miss the Indian Chinese food. Surprisingly my colleagues who are from HK and mainland China are not much aware of the Hakka cuisine. I could also not find this cuisine in HK even though I have visited quite a few Chinese restaurants here.
Thats why i saw first chinese on youtube.😅

Chinese food in India is usually Indian version of Chinese food which is mostly different from the actual Chinese food.. but it is amazing to see authentic Chinese food in Kolkata.
Every nationality has their version of Chinese. American Chinese food and Korean Chinese food are both different than food in China, but still very delicious. I'm Korean-American and my wife is Chinese so I'm familiar with all 3 and love all 3.

Indians have spoilt real Chinese food!
Kolkata still has a sizeable Chinese community in contrast to North India
True, I miss those noodles...chicken and egg noodles. They are not available any more.
That Chinese guy at the start sounded so totally Indian and with his mannerisms. So interesting 😂
I think he is Bengali.. look at his "fatua".. its called punjabi some places in India
Because he’s Indian?
We are all a product of our environment - humans are a very adaptable species. Spend time anywhere in the world long enough and you will pick up the accent, embrace the culture, and mannerisms. It is actually a trait for survival - both adapt and blend into your environment (putting aside difference in physical appearance).
He is From NorthEast
Don't tell me you never met an chakma people. They are only in India and Bangladesh.especially north east indian all looks like chinese anyway
When the Chinese guy talk in bong accent, it's the sweetest thing I've seen all day
And he even wore a kurta like a Bengali bhadra lok
ikr I was so happy :D
Insightful interview with that random dude on the street. Super interesting.

I didn't know that hakka is a community
Never knew Hakka is a community. Also thought it as noodle flavour.

I really admire people who work hard to make a living no matter in what circumstances.Give my regards to Indian and Chinese people and wish them all the happiness.
Omg omg Chinese Indian food blended together is my favourite
That sounds like Malaysian food
It's interesting to see at the end that they not only adjust the taste to indian style, but also serve the food the indian way.
“Look at the Sichuan chicken, I’ve never seen this in Sichuan” lmao
Songhan Kalsang I couldn’t stop laughing 😂
Fake Sichuan chicken cooked by the Cantonese people

sourabh shankar there needs to be Indian vs China Iron chef battles, lol. Btw curry, samosas and okra is eaten by Chinese people a lot.
Hahahhaha lol
Good to see that Chinese dude talking in English with and Indian accent.
Since the area is Kolkata, Bengali(Language) influence is there in the English.
Actually there is no proper Indian accent as different states have different languages. So mother tongue influences the way we speak English. So there is different North Indian, South Indian , North East Indian English accents.
They are as Indians as any of us.
I saw a Chinese guy speaking Bengali. He spoke more fluently than me 😁
I was just waiting for you to speak in Chinese. It's amazing!! And when people praise you for your Chinese, it's so satisfying. And once again, welcome to my city!!!
Thanks so much Soumya!
That was really awesome, a chinese community over here that's tai hao chula😍 that's why we call it unity in diversity
Unity in diversity is not allowed in china though.
I think spanish/mexican community should also migrate to india their food is amazing too.
modis india is getting increasingly intolerant. My entire family moved out from Mumbai recently. same for other minorities as well. india is becoming a hindu pakistan fast.

What that guy said about the hakka moving from india to the us and canada..well he is 100% correct as there are dozens and dozens of hakka indian chinese style restaurants around toronto

That's really awesome and just epic that you met a fan randomly while checking out the street food scene! The guy seemed really genuinely super excited and happy to see you, it's so cool that you took the time to chat with him and for him to tell you a bit about the history of the Chinese community there.
It's moment like this that really show just how popular and far reaching your videos are getting! Keep up the great work, Trevor!
Love to China from our Indian brothers and sisters
Pocket communities can have the most epic food! I remember there used to be an amazing Chinese restaurant in Ambergris Caye in Belize where the owner made all their sauces from scratch. Now I really want to go back.
Or Panama City, Panama. Large chinese population there and some great food. I had an epic dim sum there years ago.
I am a Mauritian of chinese hakka descent who has emigrated to canada. So happy to see the food I am familiar with. Thank you for the vlog.

Hardest language to learn in the world.
It's Malayalam
@@mervinva No it's Chinese. First of all, Chinese has 20+ dialects... spoken in different provinces of China. While malyalam is localised to South India alone... moreover Mandarin Chinese alone has over 3000+ characters...and tons of ways to pronounce the same word. Chinese have their own words for every thing.
Maybe hard for some depending where you came from. Most westeners, chinese is hard to learn. But its not that very hard if you are from other neighbors in asia.
Chinese is not a language for the starters lol.
