  • The Orox adventure e-cargo bike takes you from one amazing experience to another-whether that’s a fun-packed weekend of family camping or going off to #ExploreNewGround. How? We built this Tern bike around the Bosch eBike System that’s certified to UL-2849, complete with a powerful Bosch Performance motor, Dual Battery compatibility, and Kiox display. Then, we added on custom Schwalbe Johnny Watts all-terrain tires to handle even tough terrains, massive cargo capacity to support epic hauls, and all the trims needed for riding in all conditions. Finally, we infused the Orox with smart functions like customizable riding modes, navigation, and GPS tracking for a personalized experience every time you hop on your bike.

Having my GSD to haul the kids in the city is nice, and I love having my gravel bike in the woods and for speedy driving. Currently I can not imagine driving dynamic loaded with 100kg, but maybe it's my imagination. With the GSD is miss kicking my back wheel in the curves, probably that's better with the Orox as you don't sit a bit further back and the wheels are bigger.

I own the 2nd Gen GSD for 3 years now. Of course i own a Trail and a XC Bike as well. For sure the Orox is more on the Bike Packing side than the GSD. Comparing the two bikes the GSD has a better fork, a stronger kickstand, better (wider) lower decks and an easier stand in lower frame.
the most annoying thing on the GSD is the repairibility when you have a flat on the back wheel, it seems like the new Orox has similar difficulties, mhh. The fat 27.5 looks great but again, what about servicing when you are on a trip, you cant get fat tires in bike shops here in Europe. Overall the Orox is a good choice for some people. i would always go for the belt drive version.
For service friendly when you are in the fields i would go for electronic shifting.

Knowing Tern Australia, it Will take them another 6 months or more before this bike Ever comes to Australia.

32 spoke 29" wheels, particularly the rear, seems a bit light-on for such a bike?

Why do they mount displays asymmetrically?

I love my GSD, but this looks like a bit much, actually. Then again, that's what I first thought about the GSD. 😂

Is this better than Himiway Cobra? I am ignorant in this market.

Oh yes indeed! It's components (Bosch, etc) are high end.
I would trade my Himiway Zebra in a hot second for this beast....that is, if it wasn't for the price difference. The Tern is expensive - but you get what you pay for.

At min 2:05 Bosch Kiox shows 82% batery and a range of 21km. How you can tell us that the range is 200Miles ????

I have an e-gravel bike. Range of an e-bike can be dramatically different for how steep the gradient is, how heavy the total load is, the tire size and pressure, motor assist mode, headwind or tailwind, rider position and clothing, etc. My e-bike can do 10 miles only if it had to climb 2500 ft and it can also do 200 miles if the surface was totall flat. Bosch has an online range calculator that you can play with by entering different criteria of the ride and get ballpark figures.

    No front suspension? 😓😓

    • @ternbicycles
      @ternbicycles  Před 5 měsíci +4

Hi! The Orox isn't designed to be equipped with a suspension fork. The 4" tires provide the best cushioning for all the intended uses. Using a 3rd party suspension fork on the Orox raises a few issues for the bike, mainly in weight tolerance issues & steering geometry.

It features Bosch Walk Assist. So that even though it may be loaded with gear, taken on an unpaved trail, you can still walk alongside it while it powers itself forward at your pace. I have that feature on my Tern street bike, an NBD S5i, works well. As for tire repair, the rear wheel would be difficult to fix while carrying a camping load. Experienced bikers know how to extract just enough of the inner tube to do a temporary patch, not impossible on a wide 4" tire.Trail motorcycles loaded like these bikes are would have the same issue.

Ganz schlimm.
