When Yuichiro says "'mu' means...".
Muichiro's name is written as"無一郎".
無("mu") means nothing,none etc.
so at first,Yuichiro says "mu means Incompetence".Incompetence is write as 無能,能 means ability,talent,so it means incompetence.
On the other hand,at last,he said"mu means infinity.infinity is as 無限,限 means limit, so it means infinity(or maybe limitless)

This is why I love Muichiro. His backstory made me cry, it was so good. But when he awakened, I got so hyped, the animation was once again at an all time high.
The reason there is so much backstory is so the next 3 episodes can be pure action I think. The show is just following the manga so next week should just be action
Yes, next episoude should only be muichiro vs gyokko, but remember we still have to see mitsuri's backstory (which is a lot more shorter than muichiro's)
it kinda make sense in the subtitle, Mucihiro said he lost both of his parents when he was 10 years old and a year later when he was 11 years old he was all alone, because his twin brother died
Jack at the end it was Muichiro saying his brother's last words to himself again. It could also be interpreted as him talking to his younger self. I'm pretty sure though it's him just repeating his brothers final words to himself to give himself strength.
Muichiro's older brother(Yuuitirou) and Genya's older brother(Sanemi) are deliberately strict (they have a negative attitude towards joining the Demon Slayer Corps )because they don't want to put their younger brothers in danger.（＝brotherly love）
Its never once said tanjiro is a descendent from a line of swordsmen.
It's also never said that he's not.

Muichiro is written 無一郎 and Yuichiro is written 有一郎 in Japanese. The meaning of 無(mu) is like void, nil, nothing. And 有(yu) is like having existence, possession. These two words are antonyms in Japanese.
In this episode, Yuichiro said the Mu in Muichiro stands for Mu of 無能(munou: incompetent), and Mu of 無意味(muimi: meaningless). You can find both of them include ‘無(Mu)’ in Japanese.
At the last time Yuichiro said with his real heart that the Mu in Muichiro is Mu of 無限(mugen: infinite), which is the true meaning of the title, “the Mu in Muichiro”.
In English, I think there’s no way to express these meanings using ‘mu’, so I briefly explained here.
Postscript:
In this connection, Angelo wondered what the ‘Yu’ in Yuichiro means in this video. The following is my opinion.
The antonym of 無能 is 有能(yunou: competent) and the antonym of 無意味 is 有意義(yuigi: meaningful). This is subtly shown by the scenes of cooking meal and carrying wood.
And finally, the antonym of 無限 is 有限(yugen: limited), which implies the forthcoming death of Yuichiro.
Muichiro and yuichiro are indeed contrastive, I think.

Tanjiro has no birthmark. The mark on his forehead was a scar from a scalding pot that he got when he tried protecting his siblings.
The flame like mark that Tanjiro has just happen to occupy the same position over his scar.
Muichiro really is Next level, those refined and powerfull breath techniques were done so effortlesly.

Gyokko's blood demon art is so sick, the designs from each to another is so dinstinctive yet each one is dangerous but he wasn't lucky to fight against a prodigy🥵

As we all know, in genetics, if you have a twin, somewhere in your family tree there are also twins. So in Muichiro's case, their ancestors also have twins, Yoriichi and Michikatsu.
The higher probability of twins are only passed by the maternal side so while is a good theory it doesn’t really apply here.

Idk why people keep complaining and saying things that don't make sense, we're already in the "third season" (before last) and if you get to the point that the show is still bothering you then it's best to just dropping it. Don't force yourself into something you don't like just to write negative comments over and over in every episode. and ruining it for others .. What I want to clarify is that unlike the previous season, this arc takes place in a short period of time "one night". for me It is the best season in terms of storytelling and revealing information:
Revealing the Upper moons.. The era of the first swordsmen, how did breathing begin to appear.. Yoriichi's sword, the reason why Muzan fears Yoriichi and the Tanjiro’s clan.. The secret of the Mark, the memories inherited by the Tanjiro family.. A demonslayer who eats demons.. The nature of the work of the Swordsmen Village .. What distinguishes Nezuko from the rest of the demons.. The flashbacks of 3 of the Hashira, maybe 4.. The Meeting of (...) and (...)!!! Tanjiro's decision is between helping others Or (.....)!! Hashira training and how it was the beginning of their meeting with their Master and more ..

The main point of this show is the reason behind Muzan's attack on Tanjiro's house and why Nezuko Different from the rest of the demons, and to know that, we have to know about the Tanjiro dynasty and the first era of swordsmen to defeat muzan now .. For the Hashira, they are all children who lost their loved ones at the hands of demons the eldest are literally just 21/23 as is the case with Tanjiro and the others who are just (15/16). I mean, it is illogical to fight with your life if you weren’t affected personally and lost someone dear to you to decide to take revenge.. Otherwise, they would have just lived a normal life! like others in the city- However, not all the hashiras lost their families to disease [Mitsuri-Gyumi-Obanai-Kanao-Zenitsu-Inosuke] but in the case of Tanjiro, Genya, Rengoku and Muichiro] all of them, as we can see, lived in the mountains and it is clear that they are too poor to live in the city and have access to health care ; I mean, herbs are the only thing available as a cure and they are obviously ineffective.. When you work continuously as a woodsman and support at least 7 children, it is logical that you get sick and die in the end.. Also, how am I supposed to love a character unless you know her/his past and what he/she went through to get there to that point? More than being a combat action, the show specialised by the dramatic element. People continue to spread rumors while it has not been confirmed that there are 3 or 4 episodes left yet, in addition to that the last episode will be an hour long, meaning that it can accommodate 9 chapters, so let's not rush..if you can’t do it then just wait until the end of the season and just watch it in one sit instead of complaining like that.

People just like to complain for the dumbest things ever,we live in an era where most of the best animes are well paced unlike 5-10 years ago where a single arc used to last dozens of episodes dragging everything down,nowadays some people cant even have a couple of important backstory or less chaotic episodes before the climax because they lose their patience,talk about being spoiled. The arc so far has moved way faster than anything in season 1,infinity train and even entertainment district arc,so any complain is nothing but literal nitpick.,specially considering the impecable backgrounds,god tier music and excellent action sequences weve gotten.
I mean i could say the same for ds fanboys that keeps over praising the series to the point of downplaying other series. In the end with good things there are always bad things to follow. Just enjoy your fav show instead of caring what others think about it.

I don't care whatever people says but backstories are my most favorite parts of this show or other show, coz it helps me to understand the characters. In that way, you will understand why they became like their present self. For someone like me who study psychology, I truly enjoy watching demon slayer, and other anime shows.
I'm not shock anymore with anime community where some people would diss a show to lift their favorite show, or diss a character, compare different characters or shows, compare characters in the same show, I think it's so hard for them to be at least kind and know that we all have different tastes in everything. Some are lack of respect. Some are immature and only wants to opinion valid.

As of right now they mentioned that only descendant from sun breathing have the marks. And Muichiros crow at the beginning said that he’s a descendant from sun breathing too.
lol it's baffling to watch this reaction because i was crying throughout the whole episode, by the end of it i was bawling my eyes out.
its been kinda explained but a large majority of demon slayers have a history with demons and death, thats the only reason they can join the demon slayer corps (since we know the general public doesnt actually know of the existence of demons, the corps works to keep it hidden)
it'll be revealed later but every single slayers trauma pushes them to fight, it reminds them of why they're fighting in the first place and it's to create a future people can smile
plus im p sure the point of backstories is to just depict the little "life flashes before you eyes" phrase

i actually like the flashbacks and backstories we get. i like knowing more about who’s fighting cause that way you feel more for them if something happens to them or even if they win. like it’s just a connection between audience and the characters

There’s a reason for that mark showing up n a consequence for it too. I remember one of em saying they had read the manga so they know what I’m talking about n I don’t wanna spoil anything.
In the movie the fire guy got a mark too but it was hard to tell with all the blood on his face but if you look there’s a weirdly shaped red mark on the opposite side of his face from where all the blood is..from his eye n injuries.
All of them have sad back stories, but I say(imo) the snake guy has one of the saddest! They’re all super sad tho so it’s hard to pick one. And they will go thru each ones back story except the wind guy cuz we went thru it with his brother.

I loved this episode. The animation was glorious, the ost was so beautiful, the fight as always looked amazing and its only beginning. I personally really love this fight not just cuz how cool mist breathing looks but cuz of just how much trash talking Muichiro is about to do 😆
We also will be getting an explanation as to why those marks appear.
I never minded the backstories bcoz thats how they give depth to these characters. We were introduced to these badass Hashiras and now we get a glimpse of why exactly they're Hashira material. DS is a pretty simple story that follows a clear formula, you pretty much know what to expect but its still beautiful nonetheless, atleast to me. It has some wonderful characters and absolutely stunning fight sequences (which ufotable only makes 10x better) and overall is just super entertaining.
Only saying this cuz the way some people complain is a bit much in my opinion, there is genuine criticism and then there is whining, feel like some don't see the show for what it is, built up the wrong expectations and disappoint themselves.
This series is goated.

I think the monologue at the end was either muichiro talking to his new awakened self saying sorry for betraying himself (if you remember how he was acting he acted like yuichiro while his memories were gone), or yuichiros thoughts while he was dying.

It did confuse me at first because of muichiro's VA , only to realize later that he was repeating his brother's prayer, to me it felt like he didn't want to forget his family& who he was before anymore as this fight made him regain his memories
Yooo idk why I didn’t recommend this earlier, and if you watch it I’m not responsible if your standard rise even further, but you guys would love Castlevania, it’s not technically anime since it’s Western and it’s supposed to be watched in English, but it’s one hell of a show and the first episode will guaranteed hook you guys in, maybe just add it to your long list of shows to try out🙏

I'm sorry but I feel like the backstories are the only things that make demon slayer a story 😅if you remove those the series is just a fighting compilation... The fact people say "wow this backstory's crazy stop saying demon skayer's story is bad" says a lot. The plot lines which happen in the timeline of the story are just basic af or MASSIVE plot convenience (if you read the manga you know what i mean) Like seriously Yoriichi is some people's favourite character and he lived 500 years ago for christ sake. We see him through only flashbacks. It's like ymir being a better character than certain aot protagonists or roger in one piece. idk it just doesn't sit right with me

If you remove backstories from aot, one piece (granted the backstories in op are very important), naruto, hxh, jojo (only certain parts), jjk, and many other shonen, there is still a good story to be told and that's just not the case for demon slayer imo

The 2 in the middle are anime haters but are slowly being converted by their buddies. But the guy in the center just isn’t a fan of demon slayer the others are, well 3 of em are anyways. Demon slayer is the only show they’ve watched so far that you can tell it kinda loses the guy in the center n he’s just watching it cuz his buddies are, which is fine I’ve done it. Everyone has that one popular show they hate but everyone else likes it.

Some truth but really everyone started getting the mark after tanjiro unlocked it after the gyutaro fight. It’s stated in the manga that it started to spread after he manifested it

I appreciate the backstory to an extent but I'm personally still not happy with this season.
How many episodes are left? 3? I know the final episode is meant to be a longer episode that's the length of 2, but with the rate things are going:
- The Hashira still haven't even fought much. Muichiro's fighting was in like 3 second clips, Mitsuri is *still* on her way.
- Upper 4/5 barely had any meaningful screen time. Upper 4/5 still don't look as threatening as Upper 6. Seems like for weeks already I've been thinking "they're still ramping up."
- I feel like inevitably we'll also get a Mitsuri backstory and a Upper 4/5 backstory which has to be like, what, like 30 minutes of screen time minimum? I would not be surprised if the next episode is Mitsuri focused as she comes on her way and then it goes into backstory about her, and the *real* fighting is just a like 1.5 episodes followed by Upper 4/5 backstory.
I got into DS like most people because the fight scenes and animation were top notch. So far it's been a let down. I've heard that it's actually following the manga quite well though which just means the source material also has this lackluster pacing.
I feel like this season feels kinda boring if you watch it every week.
If you were to binge it all in one sitting, all episodes are gonna be really good.
The previous seasons had separate episodes for fights and the lighter stuff.
Then this anime/manga is not for you because I don't have any issue with the pacing at all..in fact I love the backstory so much for the character development..we can finally understand the character because of it..upper 5 does not look that threatening coz he's facing Muichiro, Muichiro is not like tengen as tengen said he's like the bottom hashira while Muichiro is one of the upper hashira in terms of ability but I'm not sure about upper 4, he seems more intimidating to me more than gyutaro..not that I complain but it's just a matter of people's preference..sorry for the bad English because English is not my first language..

No upper 4/5 backstory
Upper 5/4 don't have much of backstories, its just a minor flashback in the manga
I do feel like ufotable is playing in my face with these short ep/cliff hangers and cockblocking the action by shoving back stories up my ass. Since we are getting down to the wire, I expected more high level, non-stop action. The last 2 ep were very slow paced for me, but I’m optimistic unlike Yuichuro. Honestly, I’m just ready to cancel my Crunchyroll subscription once the show is over.🤷♀️
it's not like the fisrt time ufotable do that, since season 1 that happen, but it seems that some people wants to complain about the new things and they forgot that those elements were in the show since it started....
anyways, i read the manga and i can say you that episode 9 is going to be pure action, episode 10 will have action and mitsuri's backstory( but is not a big backstory like muichiro or other characters) and the final episode pure action too
Starting with the next episode it’s most likely gonna be 80% action moving forward with 3 more episodes with the last one being an hour long, so there will be plenty of action

I think I was too bored to even yawn through Muichiro's flashback.
On top of it, two thirds of the season is over, and Mitsuri is still largely in absentia.
Really, this season has been an absolute drag so far. 😪
No one's forcing you to watch... without backstories, the fight scenes have way less meaning bruv
this i hate about demon slayer,they try to strech so long..😅😅 honest ly story line is slow
