in case anyone forgets, when rengoku died, everyone reacted except Muichiro & giyu. Muichiro didn’t react cus he didn’t remember Rengoku, and you can see he finally processed his death
People complaining that gyutaro would have been much higher if not for daki. They literally forgot that dealing with him was almost impossible in a 1v1 bcoz of the same daki and hence have so many hashira kills to their name. She herself was the key to him rising so high in the ranks. The comment of muzan was apparently directed at gyutaro's habit of instead of feeding himself he tends to let daki take the lead everytime and he himself just hide in the shadows. Basically his parental side to keep daki always ahead of him.

Gyutaro would focus on becoming stronger and be much more serious if he was alone but daki was a distraction for him, coz she wanted to play Princess

Most demons have a driving factor for gyutaro it was his sister, just like akaza to become stronger, the 5th moon to develop an art. They together were the upper 6 and it was their combo that helped them take out so many hashiras too and if it was gyutaro alone he would have been long gone as he would have been a single target and not a trickster. And muzan's criticism doesn't hold much sense especially when he criticizes #2 for the exact opposite reason of gyutaro's. He is just a selfish guy who just likes to criticize others with no apparent logic.

Yeah, people like to forget Muzan’s line of “you are dying in order of who has the most humanity left.” When he said Gyuutaro would have died if he just poisoned them, he meant that he could have just poisoned and left, but since he insisted on “bullying” the people who bullied his sister back just to be spiteful, he lost. Daki and Gyuutaro were practically almost impossible to beat, they just needed to be separated and bam, they never would have died, but since they loved each other they couldn’t be apart.

I think people forget that Rengoku battled against upper moon 3 and held his own for a long time. I don’t think he was the weakest of the hashiras. I’m not claiming he is the strongest or anything just that he isn’t weak.
He’s definitely not the weakest. But he didn’t hold his own against Akaza for long at all. In the manga, the fight was literally:
Akaza shows up and gets his hand sliced
Does his whole villain monologue
Beats Rengoku up for half a chapter
Rengoku sets his heart ablaze
The end. The fight started partway through chapter 63 and ended at the start of 64. Akaza wasn't even trying until Rengoku caught him lacking at the end.

@@crx1894The first long fight to occur on the manga was Daki and Gyuutaro vs everyone, literally every single fight before that was super short. Even the acclaimed episode 19 was nothing like it was in the anime in the manga. As the author got better at drawing and established that the manga wasn’t getting cancelled, the fights got longer. Even in the longer fights ufotable still included more stuff to make it more bombastic (just look at Tengen vs Gyuutaro lol) 🤷♀️

Gyyoko is by no means a trash demon, he's super strong but the mark is an absurd power boost! Gyoko's backstory was only revealed in a databook, but long story short, he was a fishermen in a past life that eventually met Muzan after he did some very fishy and sinful things... and eventually made himself up to upper rank five.
Don't even get started on Hantengu, Gyyoko was a problem before Muichiro got his mark so you can imagine how much worse upper four is. That said, Mitsuri's being able to take down those heads without using any breathing techniques is cool af, can't wait to see her fight!

He has the strongest hax right after douma, the mark makes a slayer extremely strong and it's enough that muichiro is from the tsugukini bloodline which makes him a literal prodigy so it's an instinct for him to kill demons. Gyokko has no actual ears so his hearing senses are dull and that's why muichiro was the worst match for him cuz mist breathing mostly uses stealth attacks

as far as i know, muichiro is the only hashira to have ever defeated an upper rank all on his own. its lightwork almost but it wasnt so easy as he almost died trapped in that demon art but still. he instantly became my most fave character other than inosuke

Although there is no offical ranking. Muichiro is normally perceived by manga readers as the third or fourth strongest pillar. There is no canonical list so all of the Hashira can be ranked based on opinion.
Keep in mind though Muichiro is likely the first ever to beat an upper moon on his own, and it wasnt even the weakest one, it was upper 5
No he’s normally placed 5th by the masses, and for people who are into scaling he’s debated between 5/6 with kanroji

Mist breathing 7th form haze is technique in which the user drastically changes the tempo of their movement to disorient their enemy, which seemingly takes the form of clouds of mist enveloping a wide area. When the user shows themselves, their speed will appear to be extremely slow but when they hide, the user moves in the blink of an eye to the point it's a misty afterimage. muichiro created this move himself and it is so befitting for his character to have such a move that resembles his fighting style
I can see that the Upper Moon 5 may have came across as less formidable than we expected him to be but he really is a menace, don't forget Muichiro would have died in that water prison pot if it wasn't for Kotetsu. And then there is the scar, which is like an insane power boost, it amplifies the strength and skill like 5x or more.
Having said that Muichiro is also lowkey HIM. He is a descendant of the first breathers, became a Hashira in two months, and don't forget how he obliterated that demon that attacked him and his brother. He is one of the strongest hashiras without a doubt, and having read the manga I would definitely put him in top 4 or even top 3.
This was such a good episode! Muichiro just took control, and Gyokko had no chance!
The Love Hashira gets me so hype!! She's so fricken cool. Her fighting style is magical.
As much as I get why people dislike Mitsuri, she really has the best intentions and she is strong, there's no doubting that. It is sad to see how many people see her as just fanservice cause of her outfit. She just doesn't have a horrible tragic backstory like the others do. (No I don't find being rejected the same as your family dying)

People just want to hate for no reason, I am an anime only and have LOVED HER since her introduction and been so intrigued. This season we finally got more of her and I love her even more now! She is a feminine bad ass who doesn't have to act like a man to be a bad ass (look at you western writers) and I love it! Mitsuri>Muichiro for me and that isn't any disrespect to Muichiro just Mitsuri is preferred for me.

Just to clear the doubt, gyokko is extremely strong, in my opinion much stronger than Gyutaro. Still, the difference is Gyutaro fought Tengen, one of the weakest harshiras , thus putting up a spectacular fight. In contrast, gyokko fought muichiro, a prodigy, even if you recall, when Gyutaro said that Tengen was born beautiful and etc, Tengen said that he is not even close to people who are gifted, i.e muichiro and Gyomie, he also mentioned muichiro became hashira after 2 months of picking up a sword.

This episode makes tengen’s performance against gyutaro much more impressive. He had no mark and while he wasn’t above up6 in power he certainly was very close. His speed kept up and strength matched pretty well. Muichiro without a mark didn’t even make up5 sweat

I get what everybody’s saying about gyutaro feeling stronger. The fight with him and tengen was just insane for sure. Y’all just gotta remember uzui is one of if not the WEAKEST of all the hashira. Gyokko is def stronger than gyutaro. Muichiro just is strong enough to make it look that easy (plus the mark you guys noticed)

honestly speaking it’s a little weird to have that opinion manga reader or not simply for the fact that they haven’t (as far as I know) underestimated any other hashira. I can only assume because she’s of the happy and bright personality type on top of being a girly girl that they’re thinking that way which people should point out. being a hashira in and of itself is impressive.

And before help arrived for tengen gyutaro states that he's literally dying and we can see him sweating and breathing heavily which shows the loss of strength and stamina before the battle started.

Muichiro is 3rd strongest Hashira, can be argued to be 4th but feat-wise he's the most closest to 3rd, Tengen was the 2nd weakest overall - Gyokko keeping up with the 3rd strongest Hashira with the mark (You'll learn more about what that is)shows how tough Gyokko was.

WE may know how strong she is, but so far the SHOW has paid more attention to the fact that she is an attractive female and her BOOBS rather than focusing on her breathing style, which we WILL get to see in the coming episodes. But they don't know that yet. Right now she looks like a mildly strong sex appeal for men. I'm simply saying to give them time and I'm sure they'll end up loving her. That's not what Muzan said at all. He said Gyutaro was being held back by Daki because of his humanity and love for Daki making him make poor decisions in the battle. She didn't hold him back strength-wise, she actually only made him more powerful. Gyutaro is just unquestionably the weakest Upper Moon

Correct. Muichiro indeed slays in this fight. But the reason he dominated was through the awakening of his mark and Gyokko goofs around too much.
Before his mark awakening, if not for Kotetsu. Muichiro would have drown in the water prison pot.
Gyokko toyed around too much, if he is serious in his business. He should have killed Muichiro when he is stuck in the water prison pot. When he entered the shed, he could have killed Kanamori and Haganezuka easily but he didn’t.
So this defeat is all on him. He could have prevented it all and won.
Rengoku did good too. His foe was an Upper 3. Considering no Mark awakening amp or power up, he did well. No one on the train besides him lost their lives.
Rengoku was just gone too soon.
2) Rengoku main dying blow was the hole through Solar Plexus. So Tanjiro giving Kotetsu the sword guard to be placed for his new sword in turn by a twist of fate saved Kotetsu from being killed at a fatal blow through the Solar Plexus.
Rengoku saving lives even in the netherworld.
3) Gyutaro had the potential to rise further and his poison is no joke. From Muzan perspective Daki is a burden to Gyutaro and if Gyutaro was to poison and ran off. He would have won cleanly..

We saw Muichiro fight Gyokko before the mark. He got beat within a few seconds and would've died if not for Kotetsu. So yeah, without the mark, Muichiro is severely outclassed.
Gyutaro would be owned if Tengen awakened his Mark or Tanjiro before all the shit happened. its like super sayan unless ure fighting the top 3 upper moons. Like Rengoku was helpless even if he had a mark.

No, Gyokko is just a lot stronger. You're misinterpreting what Muzan said. Daki holds Gyutaro back because of his humanity and love for Daki. She doesn't hold him back strength-wise, she only made him more powerful.

Gyuutaro was as strong as he was because he had Daki with him, they were unstoppable because of the beheading condition they had, but what held Gyuutaro back was the humanity that remained in him. Without Daki he would have been more ruthless sure, but what made them annoying to kill was having to behead them both at the same time.

The inconsistency of power of this series is disappointing. With how much damage UM6 caused (which they added more fight scenes) it's underwhelming to see Gyokko's fight unchanged.
With the added scenes at the end of episode 8, you'd think they'll change the lame fight from the manga and add more impact to this duel. I was expecting trees and the surrounding would be destroyed for this fight, but nope.
Gyutaro caused that damage because he was fighting tengen, marked muichiro would have ended that fight as quickly as this fight

Muichiro can easily defeat Upper moon 5 Gyokko but he is in a confusion because of his memory lost. Muichiro is probably TOP 3 in Hashira Ranking and to the point that he is like younger that Tanjiro.

Guys a lot of the people reacting to this understandably have complained about Gyokko look like a trash demon in comparison to everything we've seen so far but believe me when I say that he isn't at all he's really strong however by itself Muichiro is top3 in strength within the Hashira ranks and on top of that he manifested "The Mark" which is a ridiculous power-up. Gyokko truthfully didn't stand a chance when Muichiro went all out.
Tengen was one of the weakest Hashira and awakening the mark puts the Demon Slayers on a whole new level. That is why it felt like this.
