Hi Billy watching your videos and seeing your mental strength and sincere values has made me walk into my first meeting tonight in Scotland. I have been in addiction off and on all my life I am now 48. I keep saying I am only using once a month, a week etc for the last year and it’s worse than continuously using for me. Thank you and I have committed myself to 30 meetings 30 days. Seriously from the bottom of my addict heart thank you 🙏

Yes, somehow I see Billy on YT. I tell my brother to watch as maybe it can help as it ishelping you, I know is difficult so you should be proud of yourself. My oldest bro was only 19 in Vukovar when Serbs attacked, he survived but it changed him and addiction has control for over 30 years. Despite everything I never give up and perhaps listening Billy can help...who knows but I like to hear success of others like you - it gives me hope that is always hope
I wish you peace and good luck 🙏 as I pray for my brother also -
      svaka čast brate 👏🙋‍♀️

I had so many happy memories as a kid playing in the grounds.
It’s a huge shame the council stopped it being turned into luxury hotel or apartments, would sooner let it go to ruins and be demolished.
    So bloody sad!!

Did you know Johnny Vegas was 1 of the last to graduate from here. I've spent many hours as a child and adult around that monastery. It's a huge shame it's now being knocked down. It was a true hidden beauty of the area.

    • @crankjazz
      @crankjazz Před měsícem

      He didn't graduate.
He was there for a total of four terms.
All of the first year. And one term of the second year.
At the time he was there, you left after your A levels.
There's so much misinformation about this college online.

Does seem a shame this impressive building couldn't be retained, renovated and found a new use.
I guess the refurb costs will be astronomical - and you could make tens of millions building lots of big detached houses on the site.
That's what it will end up as - big estate of big detached houses. That's why they've left the old building to rot it becomes dangerous - it's standard practice when you have a historic building you want to demolish. You let it becomes so derelict it becomes a health and safety issue and get the green light off the council to demolish.

Sad history there mate read this.
Saint Joseph's Monastery, located in Liverpool, is a historic site that has a dark past marred by crimes and wrongdoing. The monastery was established in the late 19th century by a group of Catholic nuns who sought to provide shelter, education, and spiritual guidance to the community. However, over the years, the monastery became a site of abuse, corruption, and scandal.
One of the most notorious crimes committed at Saint Joseph's Monastery was the abuse of children by the clergy and staff. Reports have surfaced of physical, emotional, and sexual abuse inflicted upon vulnerable children who resided at the monastery. These acts of cruelty and violation not only traumatized the victims but also stained the reputation of the monastery and the Catholic Church as a whole.
In addition to the abuse of children, Saint Joseph's Monastery was also known for financial impropriety and corruption. The nuns and clergy who resided at the monastery were accused of embezzling funds, misusing donations, and engaging in fraudulent activities. This not only depleted the resources of the monastery but also betrayed the trust of those who supported and prayed for the institution.
As the crimes and scandals continued to mount, public outcry and legal action forced the closure of Saint Joseph's Monastery. The once thriving and revered institution was abandoned, left to decay and crumble under the weight of its troubled history. The grounds that were once a place of worship and solace now stand as a testament to the sins and wrongdoings committed within its walls.
Despite the dark past of Saint Joseph's Monastery, there is hope for redemption and reconciliation. Efforts have been made to preserve the site as a reminder of the crimes that occurred there and to seek justice for the victims. It is important to acknowledge the mistakes of the past and work towards healing and accountability so that such atrocities may never be repeated.
In conclusion, Saint Joseph's Monastery in Liverpool is a tragic example of a sacred institution that fell from grace due to crimes and wrongdoing committed within its walls. The crimes of abuse, corruption, and betrayal that occurred there must never be forgotten, and efforts must be made to ensure that justice is served and that victims are heard and validated. Let us learn from the mistakes of the past and strive to create a future where such heinous acts have no place in our society.

Is it the one in Upholland? Lots of abuse went on there like most of the other convents and homes throughout this country and Ireland. I think a priest got charged with historical sexual abuse, I don’t remember what happened but I vaguely remember reading it in Wigan Evening Post. x
