Tampere is Finland's third biggest city with population of 238,000 inhabitants. Tampere is located between the lakes of Näsijärvi and Pyhäjärvi in Pirkanmaa region in the western part of Finland about 2 hours drive from Helsinki. Tammerkoski rapid goes through the city center with four power stations and three dams located on it.

You can try both but English is certainly understood more.

English is a safer bet. Never heard a single person talk Swedish here during all the years of living here, so I'd assume the Swedish skill here is very low also (I know I couldn't for the life of me hold a simple conversation in Swedish at all). In coastal towns there's way more Swedish speakers.

Most of the year it’s cold, dark in winter and windy throughout the year. All right for a few hours to visit and walk but living out there is risky and depressing.it’s similar to Sweden but people are totally different , heard it’s quite xenophobic as well.
