- Join me as I pay a visit to Ulster Model Car Club to take part in Round 8 of their Indoor, 1/10 Scale, RC Touring Car Winter Series.
If you’re a subscriber of the channel you may have seen that I have raced here before but without much success (due to mechanical failures)
This time, albeit with less than 24 hours notice, I found myself at UMCC as the new owner of a X-ray X4 2023 RC Touring Car. The car still needed some electronics fitted which led me to miss practice and the first time pulling the trigger of the TX was on the line for Round 1 of Qualifying…
I used the quali session to try and familiarise myself with the car and to fiddle with a few TX settings.

Looks fun out there Tim. I just bought a used Schumacher touring car. Can't wait to try it out once I install the electronics.
I’ve tried it a couple of times last year and was on the fence about it, but this car handled exactly as I would have expected, looking forward to getting to learn a bit more about this side of rc 😃
That final start rear end shunt sounded sickening 😂

We were all having a chat waiting on the start buzzy, the volume was so low we never heard it go off 🤦♂️🤣💥
@@TimsRcsurgery On video it sounds very obvious but at the time I barely heard it and I was closest on the rostrum to the PA, Gordy would have been beside it but I think the final started on my go, hence Richards car was right in front of me stationary.
Complete accident and apologies all round, split my carbon bumper brace so it's fair to say the car took a serious whack..
I keep coming back to watch that pass attempt at 11.32 ish. Started soo sweet then I ruined eating barrier 😂
