Good, cause Jim doesn't care what the media thinks. He rolls that way. 😊
I been waiting for this show all day ........can't wait to hear Rich 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Well said Rich. Thank you for the memories Coach! It was one heck of a ride...
Rich, I’m an IU grad and by no means a fan of UM, but it’s been an absolute pleasure to follow you through this crazy season and the joy you’ve gotten to experience!
RIP Bobby Knight. The GOAT.
He has turned around every program or franchise he has touched. As a player or a coach actually. As a Michigan fan I was happy he came back and turned around the program. Good luck to Jim and GO BLUE!!!
College football is fun when Michigan is good
College Footbal is fun when EVERY TEAM IS GOOD. THAT is why the NCAA needs to get their s*t toether with regards to profit sharing with TV revenue, and standardized basic player compensation and stricter rules regarding transfers.
Everything you said true 👍👍 but if he can't turn the chargers around, I'm officially convinced we're cured 😢 🤣
Bolt up ⚡🔩⚡
Cursed
Easier to do when you cheat!
Thanks, Coach, for everything. You are a Michigan legend. Go Blue !!! Go Bolts !!!
Thank you jim. Mission was accomplished
As a Niners fan, I was blessed to have Harbaugh at Stanford and then Niners. Great times. Man, he got it done in Michigan. I hope they can keep the train on the tracks. I'm just so glad he went to the AFC West instead of Seattle. Cant wait to see what Big Jim does next. Always appreciate you Rich.
As a 49er long-standing Fan, we know that he is an EXCELLENT Foatball Coach!!! He is welcome to winning a SuperBowl!!!
Agreed completely. I'm a 49ers fan and a Michigan fan. The 49ers made a gigantic mistake letting him go. Shanahan is a good coach and he may win a SB but he isn't Jim Harbaugh. Jim Harbaugh >any coach for me
And he gets to pick his GM rather than have to deal with the disaster who was Trent Baalke
@@jamesgoss1860 The niners and baalke benefited with high draft picks for Alex Smith, Gore, Staley, Willis, Bowman, vernon Davis, etc. What baalke couldn't do is draft top receivers. The Singletary coaching staff couldn't do much until Harbaugh came in and got the niners into the NFCCG in year one.
@@jamesgoss1860 agreed its still laughable that 49ers ownership sided with keeping Trent baalke over Harbaugh. Can you imagine if we never got rid of Harbaugh at all how many rings we could possibly have right now?
@@derreckblaise john is better than jim but jim is still pretty damn good
NCAA president said Michigan earned that football championship so they can't take it away
*
They won't. Come what may of the sign stealing investigation, I can see the 2021 and 2022 season affected. But they won't touch this season, because they got rid of Stallions early on enough in the season that it didn't really affect the outcome, despite what fans of other B1G schools think.
@@bigjules1234567890 Ok Boomer
@@musicman76enator Hey blue voter, even Michigan reject Paul Finebaum, Harbaugh/Mich hater has stated several times that the corrupt NCAA has nowhere near that type of power now, has admitted like many other Michigan detractors have said the NCAA has it out for JH for demanding players get paid which turned into the NIA and transfer portal that weakened the ncaa, it’s only a level 3 violation. JH is gone so they won’t do much of anything now
Reggie Bush says what?
I didnt go to UM but ive been a lifelong fan since i was in the 1st grade.... Thank you Rich for this outlook on this scenario . It truly gave me closure to an absolutely epic 9 year run.. I wish nothing but the absolute best for Jim Harbaugh and I can not wait to see what the future hold for the University of Michigan Football Program
Michigan got a natty and got to say "who's got it better than us?" and could genuinely say "nobody." Good enough for me man, God bless Jim.
Yep left Michi on top. No Michigan fan can be upset
I've been a Michigan fan for 35 years now. I can echo what Rich said. He did what he wanted to do at Michigan. I knew when Staley was fired that he was probably gone. Nothing but gratitude for years at Michigan. He's the coach this franchise has needed for at least the last decade.
he'll singlehandedly be the reason Chargers actually develop a fan base in LA. I mean that with all sincerity. I've been to Raiders vs Chargers games in SOFI. It becomes the Black Hole like it was up in Oakland.
I look forward to seeing Jim in the guest chair in the very near future!😊
Same! That would be awesome
Well said Rich, Thank you Jim! GO BLUE!
In the 9 years he was at Michigan, look how much the college football landscape changed. It is not what it was when he came to us. I am happy for him. And I am happy for us. I hate the NCAA and the Big 10 for what they did to help chase him off, and this is a big F.U. to those parties as well. But thank God we had him. And I was at your Captain game and you did great!
He created the problems and is escaping and leaving the future teams to pay the price, like Pete Carroll di to USC.
@@vw8886he’s been trying to get back in the nfl for last 3 or 4 years in fact he was almost the Vikings head coach they went into different direction kinda screwed him over. So maybe you can say he’s running from NCAA investigations but it was well reported the last few months before he even had his interview with the Chargers that this team would be the only reason that he would stop coaching at Michigan and if the Chargers in him didn’t come to an agreement he was going to go back to Michigan which means if he would’ve not came to the Chargers and went back to Michigan he would’ve had no issues answering for whatever alleged accusations been investigated for by the NCAA.
Spot on. I would add a caveat. U of M Regents didn't have his back with the last three games. Instead of Michigan against the World, it was a wimpy, okay, whatever the lawyers tell us what to do.
Thanks for the memories Jimmy. God bless you. GO BLUE!
Forever grateful for Harbaugh and what he did for Michigan. Feels like he was the perfect guy in the perfect situation to stay at Michigan another decade. Would have LOVED to see him build the legacy even more.
In the end he wanted a Super Bowl more than staying at Michigan, which hurts as a fan of the university, but I respect his decision.
One wonders what would have happened if he had beat John in that Super Bowl...
Thank you Coach Harbaugh for restoring the tradition of Michigan Football. As coach said, DOMINATE! That is Meeeeeechigan once again. Go get that Super Bowl ring.
As a Buckeye, I'm sad to see him leave. He made TTUN better than they had been in 15 years. He made the rivalry fun. He made the BIG better.
Sherrone will get a handle on things within a season or two and we'll be trading blows again before you know it 🤝 And the B1G is gonna be insane going forward with the west coast teams coming in. Can't wait for it
Sherone is a joke
@@maddyandfriends4188 1-0 vs OSU. Guess that makes Ryan Day an even bigger joke 😂
I've been a Chargers fan since 1978. So I'm very exited to have a winning Coach! LET'S GO CHARGERS!
Harbaugh makes you a believer. Real talk - go back and watch the film. Those kids were FOCUSED against Alabama and Washington. I have NEVER seen open field tackles as good as this Michigan team. There is no doubt this Michigan team would have beaten Georgia, Florida State, you name it.
I completely support his NFL quest. He gave us M fans an incredible experience. Something our state rarely enjoys. With the new playoffs.. even with a loss or two...you still qualify. He's left the program in great shape and in good hands.😎
Rich is classy AF.
He is an ultra competitor. He wants that Superbowl and I knew that when he went to Michigan
Nice summary Rich. It was a crazy, wonderful, and occasionally frustrating ride. I loved the drum beat comment. GO BLUE!
Hear Hear! Chargers should be excited. Good luck to Jim, he deserves it.
He will restore balance in the universe and make the chargers the top Dawgs in the AFC west
Just remember; No player is more important than the TEAM; no coach is more important than the TEAM; the TEAM, the TEAM, the TEAM!
Life long Michigan fan from back in the days of Bo & Woody. I have no problem with Jim leaving, the Mission was accomplished, 3 straight over OSU & a National Championship. The College system has become to crazy & he should have a chance to match his brother John. GO BLUE!
Even if we never win another National Championship, we got this one to remember forever!
You cheated tho. No one respects it at all.
@@FuzzyWalrus123nah bud I’m a South Carolina fan and I respected that win. Most of the country did, they all cheat only some get caught. And what he was accused doesn’t change the outcome of a football game. There are way too many moving parts
Explain why they would go through all of the trouble of filming other team's signs if it didn't help?
This is a horrible mentality. Never be satisfied.
@@afishinmytank context matters. A low level staffer broke archaic rules and did nothing to cover his tracks, so he clearly thought he was operating within the rules. Everyone tries to steal signs, football is not baseball, this is not the Houston Astros. No evidence was found that Harbaugh or players were aware of this scheme at all. And the most important thing is even if you do have a read on a play, you still have to execute your assignments. To thing Michigan gained even an appreciable advantage from this is pretty silly in a sport when literally every team is trying to steal signs and signs are so well-disguised you'd need a team of WW2 code breakers to figure stuff out. Essentially you're picking up hints of a hint of a clue and hoping you guess right. You still need to execute and you can still be out-executed.
I don’t think Jim would leave unless he had the coaching situation sealed up well into the future. The AD and the higher ups at Michigan need to get over themselves and do everything they can to support the program rather than put a knife into it. I would hope Michigan learned a vital lesson with what happened with Lloyd Carr and the aftermath of the darkest era in its football history. Michigan football is bigger than all that nonsense and as it moves into the future it must remain focused on the task at hand.
I'm the same way with my fandom of all my teams, Chiefs, Stl Cardinals, etc: Bring me a ring, and it's all good regardless thereafter. I'm greatful for any and all championships. Welcome to the AFC West Jim!
Callin it now, Hard Knocks HBO LA Chargers 2024 !!!
Happy for you Mr Eisen.
Looks like OSU will go back to owning Michigan
What a great story about being an honorary captain at the Michigan game. Thanks Rich!
Edit: I'm so happy for the Chargers... Jim is a great guy and I'm sure the team is very excited.
Beautifully said! Go Blue!!!
Harbaugh will NEVER have to pay for a burger 🍔 in AA ever again. 😅😂😊.
Great, great homage.
Once a Michigan Man always a Michigan Man. Thank you coach and go get that Lombardy...
Would have loved for him to stay for another decade but can’t blame him for not staying he got to the top of the mountain and I was just glad I got to see it happen
He’s a damned good coach. I get the sense he wears out his welcome 3-5 years. I wish him well. There’s a good bit of talent there if someone can coax it out of them. They stunk last year.
That's what polite applause sounds like from 110000 plus frfr😂
It's ok, Rich. I would have forgotten the honorary capitan instructions, too. It's The Big House. Awesome take on this.
He was NEVER going to stay! He is BIGGER than college football!
Oh you're right rich. It was totally worth it. That one championship was totally worth it.
Remember kids...
"Selling your principles is fine, as long as you win". Rich Eisen
Forever a Michigan Legend 〽️
And now I'm a bonafide Chargers fan ⚡️
Rich is the best
Absolutely d'accord. Good luck Jim. He did what every HC yearns to do, he left the place better than when he got there. So much better. Hoping for Coach Moore. And truly wish that Jim gets an NFL ring. He deserves it. Go Blue!
He had no choice to leave Ann Arbor for the shield! Charger fans, get ready!
I'm glad my Bengals get to play these guys next year. Should be a fun game.
Similar to us, Cleveland fans not having an issue with LeBron leaving the second time. Brought Cleveland fans our first title since 1964. Go do your LA stuff. We appreciate you always.
Rich can become a Chargers fan and root for him against John in next year's AFCCG.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I'm a Broncos fan, but I'm kind of glad to see Harbaugh going to the Chargers. Justin Herbert doesn't deserve the same fate as Philip Rivers and Dan Fouts. I think Harbaugh is the guy to get it done. The AFC West is officially Hell.
A real Pete Carroll move.
I'm excited to see this Chargers team next year. Bet on them the first month before the books adjust to how much better they are.
Jim Harbaugh has always been able to field a top level competitive team. Sure he got the the final door and was left knocking, but now hes burst through the final door. The chargers have talent on the roster and he can turn that team around like he did the niners before.
Feels like the Red Sox losing Ruth or at least MSU losing Saban. Doesn’t feel like the effort was extended to send the “really wanted” message. More of a “kind of want you” if no one else does.
It’s like it’s 2019 all over again
Tears, shock and joy flowing from the Chargers fan base! We will not be denied a ring for all those who had no hope in ownership, let's give them their due credit for landing a top coach in the market. Best days are ahead
Why would he stay. Everyone is always trying to sink him at Michigan
My perception is that Ono really liked Harbaugh. It was the cabal of the AD and the Regents. Jim was getting too powerful to control.
I’m not too happy that he left but glad that the back and forth is over. Now we’ll see how much damage his post-National championship NFL escapade will have on the program, especially with regard to transfers and recruiting.
I knew it was coming, even when I was optimistic it wouldn't be this year. It doesn't mean I have to be happy about it. It doesn't mean I am not happy for him or wish him luck. I wish it wasn't so messy. I wish next season looked cleaner in terms of talent and coaching. I wish that the NCAA would leave Michigan alone, I wish that the regents, the president and AD over at Michigan would have got him what he wanted in late 2023.
If I'm understanding the news correctly, if Michigan had agreed to the non firing contract clause sooner, Harbaugh would have signed the contract, and stayed at Michigan. Instead they waited until the last minute, and cost themselves the man who turned the Michigan program around. If that's the case, shame on whoever is responsible.
No, he still wanted the contract start date after the NFL hiring season was over so he was looking to go to the league regardless
They wanted him gone. Warde was tired of dealing with his antics. It gets old after awhile being around that. They got their natty. Jim was expendable. The same thing will happen in LA if Jim stays there long.
When is Beilein coming back?
The pundits all got it wrong over and over and it was glorious. This time, though, makes sense. The Big 18 and the NCAA were constantly up his butt while ignoring blatant rule breaking from other programs and OSU is using the transfer portal/NIL to Steinbrenner their next season. College football, going forward, is going to become increasingly unrecognizable. The most lucrative programs are going to be the only ones to win national titles and they're going to do it with entirely different rosters from year to year. You're going to see top high-school recruits spend 1 year with Michigan, 1 year with Alabama, 1 year with OSU, and 1 year with USC or Georgia.
Sherrone Moore HAS to get this job. He HAS to. If Michigan doesn't do that.....oh man.
Good,as a Buckeyes fan I was tired of seeing Harbaugh coaching That Team Up North.
As a Raiders fan I have a PROBLEM with it. I wonder if Jim and Mark Davis had a phone conversation and Mark realized Jim's price was too high - thus no official interview?
Ohio State fans are currently stuck between the denial stage and the anger stage.
1000% yes! GO BLUE! GO BOLTS! 💛💙💛💙💛💙
They need to go get one for Junior.
Who the heck would want to deal with CFB recruiting these days?
This has ruined my great mood. I’ll recover!!! But this is a sad day.
Coaches don't stay at big programs anymore for 20+ years. Jim was never staying at Michigan that long.
Me either most real michigan fans expected this, especially after he won the 🏆🏆🏆〽️🏈🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆
Go Blue!
Can't Wait for Jumpman Chargers Jerseys @Nike where ya at?
We're in good hands with Sherrone Moore.
He will have stiff competition in his new NFL Division (AFC West), facing KC, LV, Denver twice a season. I wish him much success. Since the Chargers are not a team that needs a full rebuild, we will see how he does after October or November. The defense needs work, as well as beefing up the O-line, to keep Herbert in the pocket longer.
No one asked RIch if it was okay with him. Like he had any say in the matter.
I wonder what would have happened if the Bears needed a head coach .
As a Northwestern fan who doesn't like Michigan, I am both happy for you Rich because I've always been a big fan of you, and happy that Michigan is going to go back to being loud talker who are irrelevant again.
Belichek to Michigan
Love Harbaugh and what he accomplished at Michigan but I'm not going to be happy about this situation until im convinced he won't take our coaches please coach don't take our coaches....
4 years ago Michigan fans wanted him gone well you got your wish, be careful what you wish for you might just get it
GO POWDER BLUE !!!!!!!⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️
I have no problem with it either. I just hoped he would say good-bye to us M fans who supported him all this time. Would've been a nice touch.
Move em back to San Diego Coach, so when you take the chargers to a Superbowl, the City that supported them for almost 60 years, the Lombardi Trophy 🏆 can sit in its proper place
why even post this?? we all know your a big fan of Jim's,,
I think Sharrone Moore will do a excellent job and might even run it back...Go Blue!!!!
Are you going to give him your parking spot at Sofi Stadium?
Ryan Day is thanking him!
Jim Harbaugh just boosted his (Day's) job security.
Michigan is toast.
It's that what the kids are calling champions these days? 🏆💍
I was going to lead with a different opening but I listened to your show and after hearing I am actually happy for your memories.
But I still realize he has losing record to OSU, post season play, and the Winning goes hand in glove with cheating. But best of luck.
I look forward to going back to real hardcore Michigan power football under Sherrone Moore.
Orji, The Don and Mullins three headed rushing attack
Michigan fans be like… OH NO.. WE SUCK AGAIN! 😂😂🖕🏿🖕🏿
so does Harbaugh draft JJ with the 5th pick in the 2nd round?
