Yeah I meant like come on man we can build a bloody house from all this tree and make this island ours lol. The show was amazing each group have two machete and 3 knife. You can usually use machete to cut down branch and a stick for fire wood and build shelter. Coconut palm leaf can be used as a roof for the shelter. If they find banana tree they can use it's leaf for roof of shelter or use is as water collector for rain. The heart of banana tree can be cook and eat include fruit the green one is not cook yet and but the yellow you can take to eat. For the rope you use the vine. Usually be found at the tree.

@@SigFigNewton the men and women both had rain shortly after their first fire. the difference was the men prioritized hauling it to the beach their first day, spent the 2nd day working on a fire and then hacked together a small structure to protect the fire as rain came down. the woman took too long to make ground on their first day, spent the night in the jungle where they made fire quicker than the men but split up. The few woman left just sat around the fire that wasn't protected as rain came down and put soaking wet sticks on top of it which instantly killed the fire

No it doesn't because there are scores of women who could do this challenge and would have out shine the boys.
All this proved was that untrained men will fair better then Untrained women. I seen a few survival experts do videos going through the various mistakes the men where making that would have come back to haunt them in the long term.
Also the consultant who picked this Island and made sure it had everything need for survival was a women. Her name is Megan Hine and she one of the top female survival experts in the world.
You want make the challenge more fair. Give those girls 6 months of hard-core survival training and then bring them back and see how well the boys do compared to the women.
All this proved was that untrained men are going to fair better then untrained women. Every single one of those women has the capacity to learn how to survive.

It's just an objective fact that men will thrive much better in a survival situation rather than women. Even if you took 2 survival experts 1 male and the other female 1, the man is still going to have a natural advantage just due to biology alone such as a greater buildup of testosterone which helps with bodily temperature regulation and managing stress responses not to mention muscle development. Of course, in addition to muscles men on average are taller than women and have longer legs which means they can run faster of course we can crudely say more muscles=more strength etc. We can look at blue collar work which is overwhelmingly dominated by men all over the planet such as farming, carpentry, electricians, construction workers, we can throw the military in, all are dominated by men and carry skills and build a physic on men that would be vital in any survival situation which would be the majority of the world's population (most people do not live as unga bunga cavemen). Even when it comes to people with training aside from men outnumbering the women, Men are still going to perform better. In fact the biggest factor of women's survival is having men around to protect and provide for them.

Go look up a women named Lynx Vilden who lives like people from 2,000 years ago. She makes all her own tools, clothing, hunts for her own food the whole nine yards. She not only does this 9 months of the year but she teaches other people how to do it as well. Yes a man would fair better then her but yet she does just fine and could survive like that indecently.
You talk about war and how men fair better in war then women yes this true. However we have examples through out human history were women have fought along side men in war and did just find. Case in point is the current conflict in Israel. There is an all female tank unite. They had (or did don't know whats going on now.) the highest kill ration of any of the tanks operating in Gaza. Again no women may not be as good as men are but doesn't mean they are incapable.
You talk about construction work and other physically demanding. There women that do these jobs. Granted there not a lot of them but there women who work in construction or various other jobs that are physically demanding and do just fine. No again maybe they are not as good at it as men are but they have shown women are capable of doing those jobs and doing just fine. So why don't more women do it. Because women are smarter then men. Why do a physically demanding job making 40 -50k a year when you can go to school get a degree and make far more money. I work at a foundry and have had some of the toughest jobs you can imagine. I've seen women walk in and do those jobs just fine. Maybe they struggle more then men at first but eventually they build up the muscle mass and training and do just fine. While I've seen big dudes who pump iron turn around and quite with in an hour of doing those jobs.
The point of the argument is not that men and women are the same physically. It's not me trying to prove that women are superior to men. The point is trying to get people like you to recognize that women are not as helpless as you think they are. They are far more capable of doing things then you give them credit for.
People like you keep point to this show as an example of how helpless women are. This show is bad example. Because if you take a group of untrained women and a group of untrained men (who probably have had some experience out doors.) and expect them to survive the women are not going to fair as well as the men.
Yet if you took those women and you trained them properly they would actually do far better then untrained men. If you put trained men and women they would probably do about the same. The women might struggle a tad bit more then the men but for the most part they would do just fine.
Stop treating women like helpless creatures and thinking they are just useless and only capable of sucking your ^%$ and doing your bidding. They are far more capable then men give them credit for.

I worked in a summer camp, doing wild camping with groups of teenagers referred to us by social services. Some girl counselors were pretty bad ass, but most of the time it really made a difference to have a guy on the team in terms of logistics, discipline and loud fun. But... They could diffuse situations, notice when some kids were struggling and make kids feel appreciated individually in a way that most of us guys really couldn't. Oh, and they'd stop us when we were about to do something stupid. We really needed both girls and guys counselors.

Man this is hilarious, wholesome and true in one short video. I love it!
I remember a channel called think before you sleep actually did a video on this episode and it was way worse than you could imagine. The women split up their group multiple times and got lost, needed to call in medics a number of times for dehydration, once during the first week. And were drinking water that was brown and looked like sewage.
Meanwhile the men made up camp on the first day, had a working purification system that produced clear, clean water, and caught a goddamn alligator by themselves.
The funniest part was in the end, the show tried claiming that both genders did an equally good job, Bear Grylls actually said that they could have left the girls in the wilderness for another month and they would have survived, all while wearing an expression that said "My producers forced me to say this."

If I remember correctly, this was the show that gave the women piglets, left a drugged and comatose pig for them to "find", had to give them water to keep them from dehydrating to death, and give them medical attention to keep them from dying from food poisoning because they thought they could bury raw meat in a can to preserve it. The irony is every summer the men in my family will go on a three week camping trip as a vacation and since we’re all competitive we like to see who can get by the best with the least amount of stuff. We did this 4 times in Alaskan cold, 2 times in Australian Outback heat, and the rest regular in the Rocky Mountains. These boys are just finding peace from the noise while the women are having an existential crisis. I know this because my sisters argued to go with us one year and on day three my grandpa had to drive them home because they wouldn’t stop crying. We didn’t even make them hunt, cook, fish, or set up anything. They where pissed about taking a bath in the river.

This is absolute true, I am an extrovert guy who have been always surrounded by friend and my life has been always so happy even with all problems I had.
Then I got married and moved to another country where ppl is not open to friendship like that, my life has never been so miserable, even with all the money I have now.
Then I decided to spent a couple of weeks with the boys back in my old country, it was the happiest week of my life and all we had was beer and beef for bbq 😂

Some stuff I remember from this.
1) The women split up and the party looking for a place to make camp got lost and spent the night away from the rest. The next day, more of them went to find them and decided to wander the forest rather than simply walk along the coast. They also got lost. Iirc, they didn't have a camp and a fire until day three.
2) Two of the men almost got into a fist fight due to one of them "wasting" three days repairing a broken fishing net he found in the water. But on the third day, he caught something like two dozen fish, while their best fisherman could normally only catch six or so. The other guy tipped his hat to him and admitted he was wrong.
3) The men set up a better water purification system and ended up with water that was clear but warm. The women's system gave them water that was drinkable but brown and bad tasting.
4) The men's camp had each sleeping alone in fairly basic shelters, while the women slept together in a highly decorated camp.
5) The women wasted one of their watertight containers by trying to preserve meat in it (not smoked or anything, just tossing the meat in there), which promptly rotted. They suffered dehydration until being told they had to clean out the other container so they could use it for purifying water again.
6) They were given a big damn fish by a "local fisherman" some time after they found some "wild" piglets and fed and groomed them rather than eating them. (The piglets, much like the caiman the men killed, were brought to the islands by the show to make sure there was enough food to live off of).
7) Both teams had two members evacuated. The women lost both of theirs to dehydration. For the men, one broke his leg(?) and the other got stung by a scorpion.
8) Finally, the women spent far more time lounging around and sunning themselves, whereas the men spent the daylight hours working and didn't rest unless it was meal time or when the sun went down.
Some corrections.
1) The women had a fire on day one but it went out before they got a camp, which they didn't have until a week in. The party looking for a camp was lost in the woods for three days. The men had a camp on the first night but didn't have a fire until day two. On the other hand, their fire never went out, unlike the women's which went out several times
2) He only needed one day to fix the nets and three to catch anything.
5) They also got sick from eating the rotten meat. Between that and dehydration from not drinking anything for two days, the entire team nearly got pulled.
6) The men killed a crocodile, not a caiman.
7) Both teams had FOUR members evacuated. Two men left due to unsolvable differences between them and the group. One due to a nonfatal scorpion sting (as in, the scorpion isn't fatal to humans) and one due to a ruptured tendon in his arm. All four women were lost due to dangerous levels of dehydration.
General survivability: men > women
Conclusion: Coexistence is necessary

man I've seen the show. the boys were basically competing who can be the most useful and bring the most to the group without dying. the women were competing who was the most miserable to avoid hard labour 😂 both are solid survival strategies if a group has enough resources, which the women didn't because of their attitude.
and don't even get me started on the 'coconut beach disaster' where the women got lost 3 times in a row and walked in circles. i think that was a different season though.

The difference is the group dynamic. if you have 1000 men doing the heavy lifting and and 1 woman, getting the woman fed isn't an issue. if you have 1000 women complaining in a downward spiral and 1 man doing all the work then there's gonna be a problem.
