The funny thing about this Miami Vice TV series was that I was living in Miami area in the years that this TV series was produced. Later in the 2000's I bought the video series on sale and later yet bought the DVD series just to watch it an reminisce on the locations at which it was taken. I also remember Miami Beach in 1976 when I first saw it right out of college and all the swank Art Deco hotels then on Ocean Drive were basically old folks rest homes!!! It is a far cry from those days now being the hip South Beach area now!!! And this TV series helped to turn that around, especially after the Marirl boat lift happened in 1980.

When this was showing, back in the '80s, the drug trade in Miami took a massive hit. This was because the world was seeing, through this show, how terrible drugs were in Miami. The trade in drugs, in Miami, dropped significantly, so much so, that the real cops loved the show for opening the eyes of the world up to Miami.
This was and always will be the only show I ever broke dates for. Could I have taped it? Of course, but just knowing I had the balls to break dates over a TV show, kept the fellas in place. So many years so many great memories. Thank you! Mrs. Mark (Bobbi Malcolm) Warren.
