  • Calvin Eng of Bonnie’s restaurant in Brooklyn makes a fried milk sundae. Leaning into the flavor of malt with Ovaltine, this evolution of a traditional ice cream sundae makes use of custard to set and fry milk, giving you a new way to experience the classic ice cream sundae.

    Nice spin on a classic desert. I’m personally not a fan of Whoppers but I love malted milk and ice cream malts. Thank’s for sharing and I’ll have to stop in to the restaurant when we’re in the area.

    In Thailand, we substitute milk pudding with ice-cream. I haven't had one of these since high school so watching this made me craving for one right now XD

    They have been doing something like this at the Texas state fair for almost 10 years. But then again we will deep fry anything that isn't bolted to the earth. Hell deep fried butter, and deep fried beer are among the top 5 selling things deep fried at the state fair. You know because we're fat as fuck. lol

    Just say deep fried ice cream.the milk part is confusing.milk is a liquid and as common sense and good old science you don't fry liquid you boil it genius.DUH!

    • @danielvillegas7178
      @danielvillegas7178 Před 2 lety +6

      Well actually, they are different dishes. Deep-fried milk involves adding gelatin to set the milk in order to be fried. Deep-fried ice-cream you literally batter a Deep frozen ball of ice-cream and refreeze, then fry.

    • @danielvillegas7178
      @danielvillegas7178 Před 2 lety +4

      I see your point but the milk (or "cream") in this case is solid, and not frozen. Therefore not "iced"

    • @wlee9888
      @wlee9888 Před 2 lety +3

      @@danielvillegas7178 Yup, and the ingredient/dish is even referred to as deep fried milk in Cantonese/Mandarin, not deep fried ice cream lol.

    • @pamelathomas4586
      @pamelathomas4586 Před 2 lety
