Senza levare alcunché alle celebrità odierne... mai più ci sarà una DIVINA come lei!!!
Leyla Gencer the best Gioconda
Is it just me or when I hear this rendition of this role by her, it literally makes me want to cry. Just a testimony of how ALMOST her voice and musicality was. Her voice wasn't ugly, it was truly a gift from God himself and the fact that he bestowed it to this wonderful lady, only re-enforces that there's a God.
I understand what people mean when they describe her voice, but i hear distinctiveness and power.
exactly, I also can't help but cry when I hear this recording, the emotion
3:47 that break in her voice gives me goosebumps. Genius!
Indeed she came from another planet...one of the geniuses of the last century...
Che meraviglia...
SEMPRE UNICA ED IMMENSA!!❤
One of the best performances of her, besides Medea. And the music is perfect, tragic and liric at the same time. Love it.
Mai così non una tal voce riuscì a lambire le porte del paradiso
Eterna ❤

Αξεπεραστη, αρχαια Ελληνιδα θεα της τεχνης !!!! Αθανατη!!!!!
Isn't that Callas with Onasis ? I still can't figure out what she saw in him ??
obviously not physical. he was a powerful man who atracted women by his strong and charming personality. He knew what women like and how to please them . He was very generous
@@juanbuono3933 and like all men of his ilk ,he was a user & manipulator, sadly Callas was easily duped by him because of her fragile ego...
BOB THE BUILDER I wonder the same. Callas did not need his money or power. Perhaps it goes about the roots. Who knows? We, women, are frankly stupid when choosing men.
@@idduautru3111 obviously not as she was with him many years.
Ma ascoltate l'artista o vi impicciate dei fatti suoi?... La più grande, lei ha sdoganato questi ruoli poi le altre, tutte, anche le più osannate ... hanno seguito i suoi passi...
So which date is this recording?
1952
Eximia
This song about suicide?
Yes, about a woman who sees suicide as the only way out left to her, and who has suffered and lost so much that now she hopes to find peace and rest in death.
@@veramayer9571 the amount of emotion she shows in 4:39 minutes is more than the emotion the vast majority of people have ever showed DURING THEIR WHOLE LIFE
