To answer a lot of questions...The craft show was 10 hours long. I pulled out the iPad for 30 minutes to recharge it while I took a diner break. Otherwise it played the entire event without needing to be plugged in. It's an iPad Pro and I put it in airplane mode and turned down the brightness to about 35%.
I think having the camera guy really adds to your work. He videos stuff that you might not think to add. The interaction doesn't hurt either. Good stuff!
As far as the home button... I don't want it exposed because I don't want people coming up to my booth and pressing it.
Make Something you should add a hole for a charger so it doesn't die, since you're playing videos all day.
That's super cool! I think you should try drilling a hole somewhere around the side, so you have a place to press the home button. But, yeah that thing is awesome!
Thanks! I don't want the home button exposed because I don't want the craft show crowd pressing it.
Sweet setup! Good luck at the show David. Hope you make enough to replace your iPad... :)
Tough couple of days and this made me smile. Thanks David! 🍹
Looks good man! I would totally add a charging port.
Nice Kiosk. The post-construction viewer comments "must have" features (bluetooth speaker, charging ability) for it are great ideas as well. Looking forward to the second channel craft fair experience videos. I plan to start doing those in 2017 so great timing.
"Sand in the place where you live" literally laughed out loud...literally
David likes it raw... in case any of you were wondering! Awesome video, I think I may have to do this with my iPad pro to make it a square POS essentially.
This is how my workshop operates, just make it up or fake it. Look at all the flexvolt stuff, lucky you. Well done.
I liked this format. It is so much closer to life in my shop!
Great video David. I like how you designed it on the fly and love the music videos!
You really nailed it with this video David. Best one yet!
This was great. I love the feel of this video, both funny and informative. Keep it up!!!
Great project. Thanks for showing the design process. This would be a great project to make for my old iPad to use in my shop. Thanks for sharing.
Awesome project ! Lucky you with all of these DeWALT boxes and this is flexvolt ! Hope you'll like them
You make woodworking fun, man. Thanks.
I love your energy and attitude. I hope to instill some of that enthusiasm into my videos.
I really enjoyed watching your process here! Great job!
I literally just choked on my coffee laughing at the unexpected and wonderful "Sand in the place where you live"! Plus, I do my work in my apartment, so in my case it is literally true!
Also, I want to thank you for giving me something joyful and creative to focus on, because I have been numb and grieving since Tuesday, and I really, really need to return to the land of the living.
I love it, because I also have a lot of useless crap wood 0:22 and need to make stuff from it. You had an idea, found a few designs, and MADE SOMETHING! Very cool idea and video. Good luck at the show, you are gonna sell everything you bring!
Thumbs up for fun! Great skills and as always a quality video!
You should have been playing The Roots because you were at the roots of all actual woodworking- 'I have an idea, let's check online for expansion of the idea, what have I got lying around, let's just get into it and see what happens, JOY FUN Success!!' Awesome work man
You really come across as being in your element when doing craft show stuff! Love the craft show videos!
Very creative love it. Love your attitude as well. Just have fun
I will be setting up at a craftshow on the 20th for the first time, selling mostly my turnings. So can't wait for your tips and tricks vid.
Good luck at the craft show, David! I'm sure you'll kill it!
You are soooo cool as always David... Love your work.. Greetings from Cyprus!
I like this. I might do something like this for my iPad mini. Good stuff David, just havin fun!
That turned out amazing. Love this idea.
I think this stuff s an amazing idea, and you did a fantastic job on it!
Thanks for the inspiration. Made one of my own to use for the same thing.
Digging the energy in this one, seems more you. Keep it up!
love the mic clip swivel action. One thing Ive done in the past to mount my headphone amp on a mic stand was take the actual clip part off and replace it with 2 little L brackets facing the opposite way then screw it whatever you want to mount!
Oh yes! Great tip David! By the way, I'll be in contact for more music soon!
sounds good, ill be waiting!
Sand in the place where you live... HILARIOUS!
One of your best vids.
I know right everytime I'm sanding something now I'm gonna hear that in my head
Could anyone explain why that is funny?...mmh guess not...*goes to sand latest hand built cabinet middle of living room/workshop*
Hellsong89 Funny because it is a quip on an REM song from the 90's
Really looking forward to your craft show series, taking part in my first craft show at the start of Dec!
Workin the shaft and throwin glue bottles like a Boss! 👊🏻
Nice and practical project! I might actually steal that design...
Really sweet project here!
Hi David you saved my pretty stressful day with this vid! Thank you
:)
Such a great idea!
Another awesome idea.
Although, you could cut a finger hole on the back/bottom of the mount so you could push the iPad up and out instead of smudging up the screen every time.
awesome idea and killer vid man!
GREAT "on the fly" project you Funster You!!!
This one was funny! I bet someone could cut a hole in the side where the port is for a card swiper thingy too. I might have to try that out. Keep up the good work!
Great content as usual! Good luck this weekend!
OMFG I love this! Well done David
+Phil Pinsky Productions thanks Phil!!!
Nice work David!
I have been thinking to take to craft shows that looks like a great idea.
business cards/stickers! great idea!
Awesome, as always! 🔨👍🔨
David, I absolutely Love your video's, and the fact that You are progressively having more Fun with each release. ..
and they are getting better and better. ..You are extremely comfortable in front of the camera, keep it up bro!
VERY inspiring!
..What's better than doing well at something Your Passionate about?
Just add a bluetooth speaker set and its multimedia display.
I love this project! Great idea to bolt it down ;)
Really cool mate!
awesome great project
Classic Picciuto. Nice!
I like it. Good job.
The seat of the pants videos are the best. I also noticed my Dewalt tools you are waiting to ship to me in the background. I will email you the address. Thanks, David.
Well done!
Great project, and you were extra funny made me lol
thanks for another entertaining video
No ODB at 11:53? For shame!
Kidding. Love you videos. Always a great source of inspiration.
"Oh my god, WHAT if this doesn't work?!"
David you are one very funny and awesome guy :D This is one of the reasons I love you, man! :D
This is a great build, it'd make a brilliant EPOS stand!
Solid ODB reference!!!!
Looks great... I had no idea those big iPads were THAT big! Anyway, nice work 🤓👍🏼
Cool idea..Were you going to add finish? Maybe you could add a vertical slot on the back side so you could slip your finger under the ipad and lift enough so you could grab the top.Good luck with your show. Mine is coming up in 3 weeks.
I love this video David, how can I only give it one thumbs up?!
Ha! Thanks!
Deserve so much more views and subs
Dat REM reference... i laughed, thank you
wishing you good luck at your craft sale
Dude... How you gonna rock your 58 without that clip? LOL! Rock on man.
I see u got some new flexvolt dewalt tools. Nice
Use what you got! I hear ya! Nice work .
Excellent...!!
Cheers...
This was great! I would gladly purchase plans for this. I am starting a bee farm and will be selling items so I would need a stand for my iPad Pro when I use Square.
it's the 5ft assassin with the rough neck business
YES! You get bonus points!!
"I like it raw" and you did not play some ODB - Shimmy Shimmy Ya? WOW! I thought you would have busted that one out.
Anyway, that is a sweet piece. Great looking.
That's a nice shaft you got there ;)
Love the stand, really looks cool. i want to build myself a coffee bar "hidden one" i have a nice coffee maker and nice coffee but people sometimes don't respect my stuff. So i thought a "bedside table" type deal. Again i live in a place where all i can get is pine and tools are scary expensive "not to mention" space is a problem "since i live in a room and not a house" So any ideas on something inexpensive that could do the trick? Also how to i stop it from becoming a termite feast? i do have basic power tools it is just cutting will be manual.
Dooode love it.
I need "Run what you brung" on a tee-shirt.
ha! Yes!
Sweet... a hole for the lightning cable would be good.
I would use that as a register!
You Sir, are a crazy Mother Hubbard!
Nice!! I had fun!
Looks great! how will you address the power issue as your ipad runs down during the craft show?
I will take it out, charge it and put it back in.
Awesome idea. good luck today.
Excellent work as always, David.
My fiance is an artist (abstract paintings & fabric art, mostly) and I'm looking to build something like this that we can use to collect information from people interested in commissioning her work. Perhaps also as a POS system.
Congrats on reaching your Patreon goal!
Thank you! Party time!
Very nice
Very nice. Great use of the wood.
Do you think you'll need a way to charge it/plug it in? If it's running all day?
I will be bringing a charger but don't know if I'll have access to power so I'll also bring a USB battery backup.
Are you going to use it as a card reader type thing kinda like ILTMS
No, I'm going to use my phone as a card reader.
For the upper frame I would have tried to breake it apart so the grain lines up better after gluing the parts together. But nice work.
OMG!! THAT'S SUCH A GIANT FIRE HASSARD! just kidding, like these improve projects
i'm clueless about the screw/nail holding the tablet up against the mic... did you sand that off? is it in the way of the tablet?
Great video as always, but I really think we need to see your shop music playlist...
soon!
great project but how can you plug it into power without access to put the power cord?
Love the video, man - ATCQ clip too strong! But when you were cutting the horizontal side on the band saw...that took FOREVER, I thought I'd be dead by the time you were done. Still, very nice video!
Great video, enjoyed watching it. Poor glue bottle...
